  • Bill Cosby..Still the Master of Comedy

    Oct 3, 2014

    surveyin  from Rochester NY, Rating:5.0

This book covers Bill Cosby from his childhood through today. It was nice to have the perspective from someone else about him as some autobiographies are glossed over with all good things. This delves into all things Bill Cosby. It's a good read

  • Johnny Carson Fan

I have been a Johnny Carson fan since 1968. I was 4 and one night I begged my mom to stay up late with her and dad to watch The Tonight Show on Friday nights. I was hooked then and I still watch the show nightly. The book is a quick read, it's good and it kept me turning the pages. I still love and admire "the entertainer" Johnny Carson. I'd recommend this book to a friend but I would not give it as a gift. It is important to remember that this book is a biography and not a autobiography. Conclusion: Sometimes it's best to not polish the Silver if it's already shiny enough for you.

  • Shot in the Heart

I read the "Executioner's Song" and it just blew me away. When I found out that Mikal Gilmore wrote a memoir I just had to read it. I was so curious as to what type of background would produce a man like Gary Gilmore. How a man who was highly intelligent and incredibly talented could end up where he did. Mikal answered all those questions and more. He writes beautifully, I can almost hear him speak the words that he wrote. I was horrified, touched and saddened. I was so impressed that Mikal managed to become the success that he is and was able to somehow come to terms with his family and move on to a productive life. I thank him for sharing his family story.
