Description:
Josh Hamilton was nothing less than a baseball prodigy. At six years old he was playing with teenagers. In high school he could hit 500 feet and throw 96 miles per hour. Picked first in the 1999 draft, Hamilton seemed destined for superstardom. But after a back injury sidelined his career, Hamilton turned to drugs and alcohol, starting with cocaine and eventually moving to crack, spending millions of dollars on drugs. After being suspended from the Major Leagues, Hamilton finally, with the help of his family and particularly his grandmother, managed to battle his demons, went into rehab, found God, and got his life back on track. In 2008, he was named to the All-Star game and set a record in the home run derby by hitting 28 home runs. In BEYOND BELIEF, written in conjunction with Tim Keown, Hamilton tells the story of his meteoric rise, his harrowing plummet into the abjection of substance abuse, and his slow painful recovery with the help of friends, family, and faith.

This has got to be the best book I've ever read. It is incredibly inspiring and would be for anyone. From the boy who never got into trouble to the man with twenty-eight tattoos and addicted to crack to the professional baseball player that "wows" everyone at the 2008 Homerun Derby. Josh Hamilton is an awesome player and is using his story to help others. This book will show you that anything is possible and there is always a way back to the top no matter how deep of a hole you put yourself in. I recommend this book to everyone. It is a must read!
def worth the money and lots of cool things you never knew about josh! I would def recommend this book to ANY baseball fan amd people who like a good read about change and the values of life
