I purchased this book hoping to help out my poor dogs that I have unknowingly corrupted by loving them so much and treating them like children. My bullmastiff has major issues with our neighbors cocker spaniels and I'm at my wits end. I'm only halfway through Cesar's book but I find it a fasinating read. I was afraid it might be boring but its been a book I have a hard time putting down. He helps you understand that if you have calm energy, your dog will too. The other day I had to try out what I've learned so far. When my neighbor let her dogs out and they started to charge the fence barking, Jake did the same. Instead of panicking like I normally do, I walked over grabbed his collar and made myself stay calm. He looked at me, his mohawk went down, he stopped barked and still followed their movements on the other side of the fence, but he wasnt trying to break through and eat them like he usually does. It was great I was shocked and thrilled that Cesar's way works! I'm not ready to try it on the street yet but I highly recommend Cesars book you will definitely learn something.

Excellent book for all dog owners, especially for those with dogs who disobey the simplest commands.

I have a hard time putting the book down. I absolutely love it and I don't even have any dogs!!! his insight into dogs as well as human nature makes this book one of the top readers for just about anyone.

You can never get too much of Cesar Milan. Book is not only interesting but very useful in living with our pets. Highly recommend it.

This book is very insightful and keeps the readers interests. I had to buy a second copy after my 11 month old 125 pound Akbash decided to eat the first book a day after recieving it because it was providing an edge at last for dealing with his puppy monster behavior. I have never bought into the Pavlov treat based training which so many animal trainers embrace. This book explores the dynamics of the dogs social interaction and behaviors. It is a good read not only for interacting in a positive fasion with our four legged friends, but also provides insight on our interactions with other fauna and our community. A dog that knows his place in the pack is more comforable and well behaved overall. My second copy of this book is still in tact even though the puppy had an oppertunity to consume it when I was at work yesterday. I now believe my puppies destructive behavior issues were the result of too little excercise for a wonderful LGD and also not providing enough food rewards while over compensating for my dislike of the Pavlov method.

Always helpful and always lighthearted and interesting. I agree with Cesar's philosophy about dog training, and feel that my dog is happier when he behaves and listens to me. I have a Jack Russell terrier and they are very energetic, so even though he is 8 years old, he is still very high-energy and I want him to definitely listen to me and know that I am the pack leader. This book guides me through this and helps with the process.

The book was an eye opener. As a dog owner, I always viewed my dogs in a human way. After reading this book, I have a better understanding of them and also gained a better understanding of how we should look at ourselves not only with animals, but with people. Good book whether you own dogs or not.

The books reads quickly and easily. It is very informative. The only thing that annoyed me was the tendency, like all "self-help/instruction" type books, to repeat the same things over and over. I suppose it drives the information home however. I learned a lot and am so happy I bought this book as we got our first puppy!

Another great book by the pack leader himself, Cesar Millan.. With each book, you learn more and more..Truely amazing what one man knows and understands innately about dogs' needs, wants and behaviors. A must for any dog lover/owner. And especially trainers/behaviorists.

We read this book before we adopted a new puppy at a local shelter. Our pup is four months old now and has responded very well to Cesar's training guides. We started our training from day one and have never had such a well behaved pup! Thanks to Cesar, Great book!
