I had an earlier edition of this book when I had my first child and thought it was life saving. Since then, I have reviewed and highlighted sections of subsequent editions for all the new moms in my life. I think this is a MUST HAVE book!

This book is a great resource about all the baby products parents-to-be might be in the market to buy, from cribs and bedding to strollers, carriers, car seats, bouncers, diapers, baby food, etc. The book talks about what you really need and what's a waste of money, rates brands in each category, and makes a "good," "better," "best" recommendation for each. The reviews are thorough, frank, and objective (the authors—parents themselves—pride themselves on being independent and not taking any money to recommend products). I'm expecting my first baby and knew virtually nothing about baby products until I got this book. As a result, I'd been dragging my feet to start shopping because for a lot of products (e.g., cribs, strollers), there are a lot of brands, with a lot of features, so it was overwhelming. Since receiving the book, I've become more knowledgeable not only about the product categories, but brands themselves, and feel more confident and comfortable shopping. I highly recommend this book to parents-to-be or for anyone looking for a gift for parents-to-be.

The book itself is awesome. I would highly recommend this book for any new parent to be. The shipping through Overstock, however, was TERRIBLE. It took almost 2 weeks to receive the book. I should've just ordered it from Amazon.

This book is great for first time moms. It gives you truthful product reviews, what to include in your registry, and common extras that you don't need to prepare for baby.

Besides the book taking over 2 weeks to get here from the time I ordered it, the book itself is wonderful. It's the bible of baby stuff, do's and don'ts. I love how the book takes real parents opinions coupled with consumer reports views to come up with a rating. I also love how they tell you why or why not you should get certain things and why certain products received the review rating they received.

The book is great. It has information on what to look for (or avoid) in baby products, which products are good (or bad) and their recommendations. Makes making a baby registry easy, plus helps you save money by not buying unneeded items or overpriced items. Highly reccomend. They went through the hassle of researching the baby item manufacturers and items themselves and getting reviews or using themselves, so you can feel confident making purchases for your new little buddle of joy, whether your baby, a friends, or if you're the grandmother.
