Babette's Feast is a beautiful metaphor showing the grace of God. It is filmed tenderly and simplisticly. There are no high-powered scenes with explosions, car chases, etc. just wonderful plot and character. I would highly recommend this film for people who are sensitive to the simple human condition, who enjoy the presentation of ideals that common to us all, regardless of our nationality. I love this movie

Highly recommended for serious film buffs. I've had the VHS for years, now it's on DVD and widescreen....even better. A thoughtful and well written story, good actors and amazing scenery.

Interesting movie. We watched it in our small group and had quite a lively discussion afterwards. We still bring it up in conversations...

I randomly saw this movie on TV about a year ago or so, and decided to sit and watch. I absolutely fell in love with it! The whole movie is in subtitles (as least the version I watched), but I didn't mind at all because the languages they all spoke were so beautiful. All of the characters are so soft-spoken and kind, and the plot is so unique. I could watch this movie over and over again.
