Cantinflas steals the show
Entertaining film all around. David Niven is excellent, as usual, but Cantinflas steals the show. His talents are showcased to perfection in this film. I thoroughly enjoyed every minute he was on screen. He is funny, articulate and a match for David Niven's suave demeanor. After betting that he can circumvent the world in 80 days, he puts his valet (Cantinflas) in charge of all arrangements. As Mr. Niven's assistant you would think it a minor role. Not so! His character is the one that gets into more scrapes and has more funny adventures, much to the delight of the viewer. He always pulls everything off with apparent ease. I recommend this film. It may be an oldie but it is definitely a goodie.
