So good I got a copy for me!
 from Texas,  Mar 23, 2009

Bought a copy for my fave goth grrl...when it came in I flipped through it and then had to order a copy for myself! So much of the newer craftiness has poor to non-existent quality of construction...the items in these projects are made to actually be useable, usefull, and last. Now I gotta upsize that baby sweater...those skullies are too much fun...

LOVED this!
 Mar 20, 2009

This book is great for those who have serious crafting skills, or are interested in learning. I like that there is a variety of projects, not *just knitting* or *just crochet*. There's jewelry, sewing, cross-stitch, beading, metal embossing, even how to make a corset out of duct tape. All projects have clear instructions with them, and there's further instructions in the appendix for novices, so even if you have no experience, you can still make the project. I had never done any type of jewelry work, but I found the chandelier earrings very easy to make. This book is full of knowledge-for example it has a section on the pagan calendar with the 'Wheel of the Year" skirt. I've used this book constantly since I bought it.

Great Book
 Mar 20, 2009

Wonderful book if you are looking to learn crochet, chain mail and sewing. I found this book incredibly fun to read (all the recipes and extras make it worth the money). The step by step instructions in the back are wonderful if you don't know all the crafting terms. If you have a problem with menstrual cups and whips then this may not be the book for you.

Subversively Delicious
from Lexington, KY,  Mar 19, 2009

I love the fact that everytime I look through this book I find a pattern or a recipe that I hadn't noticed before. I bought the book for my sister and one of my craftier friends, and they both got a kick out of it. I wish there were more resources that I could find patterns to feed my underlying goth (not emo) nature, while not making me feel like I am trying to be a teenager all over again. The writing is masterfully sarcastic which feeds my wry humor and tendency to hate all other humans. The patterns are varied, So if you are looking for a book that is solely fiber arts then you need to look elsewhere, but if you are looking for a book that gives you the full subversive crafting experience sign yourself up.

Diversity is a wonderful thing
from Seattle, WA,  Mar 19, 2009

I love the diversity of projects in this book. I love learning new crafts and this book has quite the variety. The projects are off the wall and fun. Not something you would find in your everyday craft book, which I also apperciated very much . I learned double knitting because of this book (I made a hat). Wonderful fun. I can't wait to try some of the other non-knitting or crochet projects, like the eggs.

Awesome and Unique
Anonymous  from Michigan,  Mar 19, 2009

Patterns are well written and easy to follow. The photography is fantastic (!) and everything inside of it is quirky and unique. You will NOT find another knitting and crochet book out there like this! And the book does contain both! If you haven't done one or the other I still recommend this book, its always good to learn new things! If you know one (crochet or knitting) the other is super easy to learn. The book also has interesting stuff before each pattern, songs to listen to and books to read to "get in the mood" before you start on the project. And that alone has a great value! Someone obviously put a lot of time and effort into making this book awesome!

Superbly sinister
 from australia,  Mar 19, 2009

I loved this book from the moment I got it! It's interesting, it's diverse and it fills that little gothic-craft hole in my heart. Haven't you ever wanted a black santa hat - with a skull? Or wanted to turn jump-rings into chainmail? Or wanted to graffiti over a ghastly saccharine cross-stitch sampler? I did - and now I've done it! The recipies (which I wasn't expecting) add something different, and the little quizzes, cartoons and commentary make me smile (and then cover that smile really quickly to maintain my gothic cool). For crafters unafraid to try out something new, this is the book for you!

A cornucopia of craft
from Claypool, IN,  Mar 18, 2009

I'm not positive how this should be related to Dominitrix (which I also have), but the AntiCraft isn't connected to that book (no? yes? Someone correct me?). This is for the WELL ROUNDED crafter who isn't afraid to try something new and odd. Obviously from the title it's going to have some things that you're just not ever expecting to see made- and that's why some of them make SUPER excellent gifts :D Go for it and have FUN creating!

I wasn't impressed
 from maine,  Mar 17, 2008

I really liked the other book - Domiknitrix, so I bought this one. Boy was I wrong. There are maybe three items to knit. None of which I would be interested in-like a menstrual cup. The rest of the book is crochet and something else. Big waste of my money. No point in sending it back. I'll have to eat the cost. Oh well, live and learn.
