After years of testing and misdiagnosing, my 23 year old son has been diagnosed with Asperger Syndrome. I immediately ordered a bevy of books on the subject and got this one on a whim because I am a cat lover and it has ended up being my favorite by far. It is a wonderful little tool for explaining Aspergers to folks without getting bogged down in the technical details and it is truthful but also very positive. I highly recommend it!
After reading many other books on the subject, I read this book to our 7 year old after her younger sister was diagnosed with Aspergers. It was by far the easiest and simplest yet most effective way of communicating the disorder to a small child I have found to date.
The best book for my 9 year! He & his teacher read it to his 3rd grade class and all the children nodded at items that reminded them of my child's behavior. He was not embarassed by the reminders of his behavior and that the book was funny, but, true and nice.
