I would guess from this and some other recent titles that Patterson is trying to break out of the mold into which he has cast himself. I view this with mixed emotions. I have enjoyed every one of his Alex Cross novels, but at the same time realize his difficulty. In fact, I share it in a way, as I would hate to see each novel become more gory and more fantastic than the last, yet this seems to be the fate of many mystery novelists. This current novel has a great deal of fascinating history. It is tied into Patterson's existing characters, whom we would greatly miss otherwise. However, there is not much future in this direction either.I enjoyed this book greatly, and look forward with great anticipation to see what direction Patterson heads in now. Sure would miss Alex and crew!
James Patterson is my new favorite author.....anything he writes is gold.
it didnt take me long to finish another great James Patterson book......I recommend this to any Patterson followers
This is one of James Patterson's finest books. Of course all his books are great but this is one of those you don't want to put down wondering what is going to happen next. He is my favorite authors and he has not failed me yet. Keep them coming especially more Alex Cross.
I'm a person of few words . . . the book was excellent. I have passed it on to a co-worker. I am now reading the Swimsuit.
