I love this book. It nicely fills in the mysterious little gaps in some of the Harry books, where Ron make reference to some of these stories, and Harry and Hermione are clueless, having been raised in Muggle homes. My 11 y/o grandson hasn't read the book yet, so I don't know what his opinion would be. But I'm guessing he'll enjoy it as much as I have.

My daughter needed a mystery for a genre study; we bought several Sammy Keyes. Overstock sent them quickly. She has read two so far, and loves them. Her book report was a big success.

I purchased these Audio CD's to help keep my Grandaughter interest in books. She struggles with reading and is behind for her age. She started out with the CD's and followed along with the books that we had purchased seperately. She played them over and over again. She just loves the stories. Before long I heard her reading the book on her own. I thought it was just from memory, but was quickly surprised that she was reading the whole book . These are all great stories read by the Author of the Books and keep kids very engaged! Since receiving these Audio CD's her reading level has jumped to steps or levels in school. I have already purchased 9-16 of the Audio CD's. Anything that helps children to love reading is a great tool. We have listened to them on short trips and the stories are easy to understand and fun to listen to. They also help you feel like you are part of the story and helping out Jack and Annie to solve the Mystery Adventures!

Isle of Swords defines a fun swashbuckling adventure! Its' fun, if not original creations: a boy with no memory, a massively strong pirate, a headstrong co-heroine and skilled but mysterious main character, fighting monks, and a generous helping of danger and action are sure to appeal to the adventurous young teens reader. The book contains both some violent flashbacks, and implied gore, so sensitive stomach readers may want to stear clear. For those that do brave the waters however, I believe you'll find a fun story with good take home values of loyalty, freedom from the past, and honor amidst troubled times.

I'm a mother of 3 kids in hockey- two of which are girls. It is hard to find a book on Girls Hockey so I was pleased to find one in fiction. My oldest daughter, 8, loves Nancy Drew and mysteries. This book was well-received by her.

I love the Magic Tree House book series. My children love reading these books from Kindergarten until 4th grade. Each of the books in Mary Pope Osborne's Magic Tree House series captures my children?s interest and introduces them to different historical places and times. My kids have so much fun reading her stories; they do not even realize they are learning. Haunted Castle on Hallows Eve is the 30th book in this series. At first, I was worried that the content might be too scary for my girls. However, the story was adventurous with just enough suspense for their young ages. The inside flap reads, "The castle looms dark against the light of the moon. Giant ravens circle in the sky. The wind whistles through the empty windows. Merlin the magician needs someone to find out what has happened. But who is brave enough to brush the cobwebs aside and go through the heavy doors? Who is smart enough to solve the mystery of how the castle became haunted and return it to its rightful owners? Merlin thinks he know the answer to these questions. Jack and Annie, two modern kids who have lots of experience with history, mystery, and magic! With the help of Teddy, a young sorcerer (and an old friend from an earlier adventure), Jack and Annie take on their second Merlin mission in the magical realm of Camelot. Inspired by ancient legends and campfire ghost stories, Haunted Castle on Hallows Eve is a spooky and satisfying treat for readers all year round!"

Billy and Bonnie are resting after the action in Raising Dragons when the return of Bonnie¿s father signals the beginning of a new adventure. Can Bonnie trust the man who betrayed her mother to the slayers? The amazing scientific process of translumination creates a vibrant world inside a light-absorbing gem known as the candlestone. Want to know more? Enter The Candlestone and explore a world of danger, mystery, and sacrifice. I liked how this book emphasized faith, trust and truth. It contains a nice blend of emotions, humor and action.

My review is a little different because I did not see the product. It is a gift for my eight year old granddaughter. I asked her mother what she would be interested in and she told me what to order for her birthday. She has just began to read the Boxcar series and I was able to find the sets at Overstock which is what I wanted for her. She was very pleased with her gift and I was pleased with Overstock and their handling of the whole thing. She lives in a differnt state then we do so I was able to have it shipped and taken care of in good time.

Many younger people grew up reading this set and the "Little House Set". What Little House did for the pioneer spirit, this set did for Nursing. The setting of the stories are after Cherry gets back from WWII. She has many more adventures. Part Adventure, part sluth and all Nurse(RN), Cherry not only does what is right, makes friends along the way, is of good moral and character, and solves little mysteries while being light hearted. I was excited when this set came back out, for the younger readers of today to have besides some of the garbage (yes might as well call someof it what it is), and have a fun character to read about. This tells and shows even how much being a RN over the years has changed, from at one time even having to stand till the doctor took their seats. The adventures are fun, Cherry the small town girl, who had huge dreams, and is making all them happen. Just remember that the sets are wrote after WWII, I hope this set inspires young readers to be a Nurse like it did so many of the readers now, more then some junk played on TV with bad acting and subplots and those goofy J&J commercials. Two thumbs up!

Despite the cover of skulls & bones on the cover, our 10 yr old daughter loved this book and now wants to read the rest of the stories. I've been to the catacombs in Paris, and it was fun to talk about it with her (even showed her some of the pictures). She really enjoyed the mystery and suspense aspect of the book. This was a bit surprising since she still has trouble watching any movies that are remotely scary (PG-13 and up). I think anything that can make your kid excited to read more is a great book.

I've read the first 6 in the series. I love every one and I'm a mom of four. My two older boys, ages 9 and 11, really enjoyed the adventure and surprises throughout the books, especially since it's about kids. Great read for anyone ready for an action packed mystery adventure.

This book was very informative about how the series came about, who were the authors and illustrators. The book is like a scrapbook by Nancy Drew with pages dedicated to thirteen of her mystery adventures. With many flaps to open up and notes and letters that can be removed and read and put back; it is fun and interesting for any eight year old or older child. It inspires the owner to read or reread these thirteen mysteries, along with this book it would be just like they are sharing the clues and helping Nancy Drew solve the myteries. It also contains thirteen postcards, each with a picture of one of the thirteen mystery covers. I believe this book would be an immediate favorite of any Nancy Drew fan.
