My daughter needed a mystery for a genre study; we bought several Sammy Keyes. Overstock sent them quickly. She has read two so far, and loves them. Her book report was a big success.

Am reading this book with a small group of Third Grade boys. It is very appealing to them and has kept them interested and motivated as we read chapter by chapter.

This book was very informative about how the series came about, who were the authors and illustrators. The book is like a scrapbook by Nancy Drew with pages dedicated to thirteen of her mystery adventures. With many flaps to open up and notes and letters that can be removed and read and put back; it is fun and interesting for any eight year old or older child. It inspires the owner to read or reread these thirteen mysteries, along with this book it would be just like they are sharing the clues and helping Nancy Drew solve the myteries. It also contains thirteen postcards, each with a picture of one of the thirteen mystery covers. I believe this book would be an immediate favorite of any Nancy Drew fan.

Billy and Bonnie are resting after the action in Raising Dragons when the return of Bonnie¿s father signals the beginning of a new adventure. Can Bonnie trust the man who betrayed her mother to the slayers? The amazing scientific process of translumination creates a vibrant world inside a light-absorbing gem known as the candlestone. Want to know more? Enter The Candlestone and explore a world of danger, mystery, and sacrifice. I liked how this book emphasized faith, trust and truth. It contains a nice blend of emotions, humor and action.

Sharon Creech has a good way with words. This book proved to be especially poignant to the boys I work with, most of whom have been adopted or are awaiting adoption. The story begins with brother and sister who are residents of yet another foster home, and in fact not a very nice one. They have dreams of somehow earning enough money to steal away some night and hop the train to anywhere. Instead they are paired on a temporary basis with a couple who is growing older and husband and wife each has an idea of the perfect big trip. But their ideas are different so they need travelling companions to travel separartely with them. The story has concepts of trust, mystery, adventure, and takes the reader on a journey that ends with more questions than answers but still an overall sense of caring and accomplishment. And it does have a sense of satisfying and caring completion. The chapters are very short so it will keep those who are not excited about reading moving ahead at a quicker pace than many other books. The boys I work with (ages 9-12) all loved the book as well as others by Ms. Creech. It works well as either a read aloud or read alone book and would make a nice gift for any preteen, especially if they are in a foster or adoptive home.

Many younger people grew up reading this set and the "Little House Set". What Little House did for the pioneer spirit, this set did for Nursing. The setting of the stories are after Cherry gets back from WWII. She has many more adventures. Part Adventure, part sluth and all Nurse(RN), Cherry not only does what is right, makes friends along the way, is of good moral and character, and solves little mysteries while being light hearted. I was excited when this set came back out, for the younger readers of today to have besides some of the garbage (yes might as well call someof it what it is), and have a fun character to read about. This tells and shows even how much being a RN over the years has changed, from at one time even having to stand till the doctor took their seats. The adventures are fun, Cherry the small town girl, who had huge dreams, and is making all them happen. Just remember that the sets are wrote after WWII, I hope this set inspires young readers to be a Nurse like it did so many of the readers now, more then some junk played on TV with bad acting and subplots and those goofy J&J commercials. Two thumbs up!
