I am reading Tweak for book club participation. We are also reading the father's book, A Beautiful Boy. Tweak drags on and my attention wonders easily. I'm finding it tedious to read.I know there's a message there. I think I got it in the first 3 pages, but I've got to finish the book which may be difficult.

Insightful heartening and triumphant. The book showed how easy it is for anyone to start using drugs and become an addict. How heart breaking it is for the user not just the family .Also how someone bright and talented can be self conscience, in the end we are all just human and everyone makes mistakes.

A sad story about a boy with addictions. I would request this book for others that are battling addictions. A story about a man and his life with addictions. He kept a journal about his struggles with meth.

Nic Scheff's memoir, TWEAK, of his descent into the depths of drug addiction and his attempts to come clean makes for good companion reading along with his father's recounting of the same period in his own book BEAUTIFUL BOY. If nothing else, perhaps the reader will walk away enlightened on how low a person will go when under the awful effects of methampetemine addiction. May we one day see this scurge, this destroyer of lives and souls, eradicated from our nation.
