These books are tough to read because of the subject matter and because of the fact that they are translated from the original Swedish. They involve Swedish politics and laws which as an American seemed odd to me. In the first book, The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo, the male lead character is jailed for libel of a corporation, which would be a civil matter in the US but not a criminal offense. But I read the books three times and by the third time, I really appreciated the description of life in Sweden and it's court system and understood how it was an integral part of the unfolding of the story. I have read a lot of Michael Connelly's books. This was part of the Lincoln Lawyer series and is very good. All of his books are excellent and I am in the process of reading all of his books. If you like mysteries I highly recommend his books.
