I purchased this game since it was multiplayer for my son and the many kids that drop by frequently. Since Christmas it has only been played once because one of the kids had a character he didn't like and complained the ENTIRE time that the other kids threw in the towel and went back to Skylanders. The other kids did like it and will probably play it again in the absence of the "whiner."
My 11 year old "likes" this game, but does not love it yet. Other reviews on other websites do say it is one of the harder games to understand and get acquainted with, but is great once you do. My twenty year old nephew loves it, but cautioned me it may be too much of a learning curve for an 11 y/o with little patience and alas he is correct. It hasn't been regulated to the never touch again pile and had been played with twice since Christmas so overtime, he may acquire a fondness for it.
Granted this is a "teen" rated game so it is geared toward older players, but I thought I would give it a whirl for my 11 year old. It involves too much on the front end developing the story line, etc than he had the attention span to sit through. Maybe in a few years, but for now, it just got tossed on the side. It gets great reviews on other websites, so for the appropriate age, I am sure it is a great game.
