"I don't have two lives," Annie Leibovitz writes in the Introduction to this collection of her work from 1990-2005. "This is one life, and the personal pictures and the assignment work are all part of it." Portraits of well-known figures--Johnny Cash, Nicole Kidman, Mikhail Baryshnikov, Keith Richards, Michael Jordan, Joan Didion, R2-D2, Patti Smith, Nelson Mandela, Jack Nicholson, William Burroughs, George W. Bush with members of his Cabinet--appear alongside pictures of Leibovitz's family and friends, reportage from the siege of Sarajevo in the early Nineties, and landscapes made even more indelible through Leibovitz's discerning eye. The images form a narrative rich in contrasts and continuities: The photographer has a long relationship that ends with illness and death. She chronicles the celebrations and heartbreaks of her large and robust family and has children of her own. All the while she is working, and the public work resonates with the themes of her life.

  • Magnificent collection of photos!

I have followed Annie Liebovitz for decades, and this is a magnificent collection of some of her finest work. The book is HUGE...worth every cent. The history of her life and times is very well done, and I one could get lost for days while enjoying the book. FYI: This would be a fabulous gift for art/photo/history buffs!

    • How accurate was the on site description of the product? Very accurate!

  • Annie Liebowitz

A wonderful, huge hardcover composite of her beautiful work. This stunning book was about 1 1/2 inches thick with glorious photographs of her life and her famous photos of the years. It was priced half of what you'd get it for at a chain! This hardcover book was about 12" x 10" - a great coffee table book.

  • A Photographer's Life, 1990-2005

This is a wonderful and beautiful book! I bought it for a gift for the photographer in my family, but almost kept it for myself! It was hard to part with. It's a collection of the most breathtaking work of hers. This is a large and heavy book, perfect for a more "sophisticated" coffee table book. I was just so moved by what's inside the book. However, the book itself and appearance is A+++.

  • A Photographer's Life 1990-2005 by Annie Liebovitz

I purchased this book for a friend of a friend of mine as a Christmas gift. I was quite impressed with the size, weight and content of this book. The recipient was most impressed with it, as well! Have no doubts about this one. Overstock.com offered the lowest price anywhere on it. The shipping was lightning fast and I can assure you I will gladly continue shopping with Overstock.com. They have always been WONDERFUL to me!

  • A Photographer;s Life

The book doesnt just contain great photographs of Annie Leibovitz life, but also there is a wonderful story behind them which she has written. This makes a great coffee table book. Whatever the reason you chose this book, you will not be disappointed!
