In this version of the classic Christmas Carol story, Alstair Sim as Scrooge portrayed the character so realistically. This actor showed the greedy sinner to perfection, then the totally transformed man in such a believable way. Tis version goes into his sisters death bed and shows him the promise he made but never heard from her that he also never kept. All the spirits were excellent. Actually the whole cast is excellent. I specifically look for this version to play annually to remind me of the Christmas Spirit for the whole year. Love this version of the classic movie.

It just wouldn't be Christmas witthout seeing A Christmas Carol. There are many versions, but this one is by far the best.

This is one of the best films for the Holiday Season, This edition deserves high praise and is a must have product for the holidays.

This version, with the fabulous Allister Sims is simply the best! He is a grump, but his conversion is wonderful. London is cold and miserable. The supporting cast are all great. Makes the holiday season for me.

Of the many film versions of Dickens' "Christmas Carol" this is certainly the best. Alastair Sim captures the character of Scrooge like no other actor before or since. His transformation from a miserly old grouch into a generous, warm-hearted soul is a joy to watch. This film is a classic that can be enjoyed by all ages. Strongly recommended!

Alistair Sim plays Scrooge better than anyone else. I don't care if this movie is in Black and White or colorized, it is easily the best version of "A Christmas Carol" I watch it every year without fail.

I have long loved this film. I had a VCR tape which was lost in a move, so wanted to have it before Christmas to watch. It was as always a joy to see.

This is the classic version and the best version ever made. Allister Sims captures the role of Scrooge is such a way that you dislike him and then, after he "reforms" you are sorry you disliked him so. This is a terrific version to share with the family. It is timeless.

This is by far the best ever adoptation of this wonderful story. Alister Simms is the greatest scrooge of all time. I love this movie and can watch it over and over again. With the extras like the 1930's version and colorized for those who would want to see it in color this is a great DVD for your collection.

This movie in itself is a classic. I have 2 children and each one can have a CD of the best, in my opinion, the story of Scrooge. One CD is colorized and the other in its original form. Great gift>

this is the only christmas carol movie I watch, its the best one by far, I have it on vhs, and I think I need to get a new one or get it on dvd.
