I am a new knitter and I have taught myself to knit from books. This is the best knitting book I have ever come across. It is well illustrated and all knitting patterns are in color. The knitting directions for each of the 400 patterns are very clear. Every pattern is demonstrated step by step showing you what to do with the needles in your hands. Example: tells and shows you when to use a pearl stitch position, or a knitting stitch position. When to bring the yarn over the needle or under the needle. I feel quite confident that I will be able to finish teaching myself how to knit all knitting patterns on my own without the help of another knitter. I wish I had found this knitting book long before all the other books that I have purchased in the past. This book is really a nice asset to own. I am very pleased with this purchase. The book is great for new knitters that really want to master the art of knitting.
