Love this new duvet!!! It is so light weight, yet incredibly warm!!!Read More
Good for the price. Looks nice in my guest room. :)Read More
I purchased this comforter based on the other reviews. It is warm right now although I am not sure how it will be when snow is on the ground. I really like that it is not heavy like my old comforter. I really hate feeling crushed while trying to sleep. I do agree with other reviews that it is rather noisy. Not sure why but it does wake me sometimes when my husband is rolling over.Read More
The comforter is of good quality, light but warm and we enjoy it very much now in our CA winter. It is a great deal for the price.Read More
Once we pulled the comforter out, we realized that the comforter had the plastic like texture which is quite weird for cotton. Maybe it was just because the filling in the comforter that made we feel that way. We still wanted to give it a try. It was pretty warm, but it really made a crunchy sound everytime it moved. So, this comforter is not for you if you need to sleep in a peaceful and quiet environment....like me. I ended up returning it because I would not sleep using it.Read More
I read a ton of reviews before purchasing this one. I've bought many other comforters from Overstock over the years, all real down, all at great prices for down, but one thing I've found with down is that dust mites love it, and so with an allergy prone husband I decided that maybe this time we should go for something else. Being used to a big fluffy down comforter (although the down was shifting and causing empty spots... another downer w/ down...) I waited patiently when I unpacked the comforter to see it appear as "fluffy" too... all the other reviews kept going on about it being "so fluffy" but that was far from my mind when I unpacked it, even by the evening... I now realize that it is indeed very fluffy when compared to any other alternative comforter. If you're looking for big and fluffy then really nothing beats real down. Having said that though I am truly pleased with this comforter and can't believe how nice and warm it is. I wouldn't quite label it as fluffy, but it's not thin either. It has a nice weight to it, not too heavy not too light. And even though the fluffy reviews had thrown me off somewhat I found this comforter to be fabulous. And I know it's going to keep us nice and warm during our Montana winters. For this price you can't even find a simple throw so it's truly unbeatable! It did take almost two weeks to arrive after ordering, however that's just the mail system and doesn't reflect this product. Thanks Overstock!Read More
This is a good buy for the price. looks great on my bed without a duvet cover. Have a queen bed and sized up to the King comforter, which is perfect. Previous reviews complained about the noise it makes which worried me, but I have no problem with the slight crinkling sound, and would probably not even have noticed it if I hadn't read the previous reviews. Quality was as expected and loft looks just like it did in the picture on the website. It is nice and puffy and full. Much nicer compared to the one deflated looking one my boyfriend has. Have not laundered it yet, but ability to launder is a big plus. Using as a summer comforter so far so can not attest to warmth. I have been comfy with the AC on. Overall, great buy and I would highly recommend.Read More
Although I am still using this after a year, I plan to replace when it gets to the top of my "need now" list. What bothers me is how stiff this seems. It is "slick "under the duvet and it isn't soft and doesn't "sink" around you when covering you. Will buy in person and check out the softness of the next one I buy.Read More
Other reviewers had said that it has a funny crinkle noise, as if the manufacturer wanted you to think it was filled with down. It does have a noticeable sound but we got used to it immediately. It's so warm and snuggy, with good loft for an excellent price, that I don't regret the noise at all. The box-pattern of the stitching is slightly noticeable through the cloth of the duvet, but again, not a significant drawback. Still a happy purchase.Read More
Shipped quickly and turned out to be just what we needed for this freezing weather. Very warm and the fabric covering the comforter is very nice. I definitely recommend this if what you're looking for is an alternative to a down feather comforter.Read More

Best Fills for Down Comforters
Warm and incredibly soft, down comforters are the height of luxurious bedding. Like all other bedding, down comforters can range from inexpensive to costly. The proof is in the filling. Inexpensive down comforters are filled with a combination of down and polyester or down and feathers. The best down comforters, which are usually also the most expensive, are full of pure, thick down. Take a look below to learn the best fills for down comforters. Hungarian goose down: Hungarian goose down is considered the most luxurious type of down. These extreme cold-weather birds have very thick, almost odorless tufts of down at the base of their feathers. This heavy, long-lasting down is most often used in comforters with a fill rating of 800, which means they can keep a person warm even in cold conditions. Eiderdown: Eiderdown is harvested by hand from the abandoned nests of Eider ducks, which pluck the down from their own backs and use it to cover their eggs. Eider ducks live in cold climates, so their down is thick and heavy. It is used in high-quality comforters with a fill rating of between 700 and 800. Eider duck down is the only type of duck down used in high-quality comforters. All other duck down is usually considered too smelly (and some duck down has tiny barbs) and is used in much less expensive comforters. Grey and white goose down: Grey goose down is used in dark comforters due it its grey color, but it is the same as white goose down in all other ways. Grey and white goose down, which is usually harvested from European or Chinese geese, is the most popular type of down used in middle-price-range pure down comforters. These comforters usually have a fill rating of 600 and above. Hypodown: Hypodown is a mixture of white goose down and milkweed. This all-natural filling is hypoallergenic and much more durable than pure down comforters. While pure down is still considered to be the preferable fill for comforters by most people, hypodown is gaining popularity with consumers who want a longer lasting product without synthetic fills.
