I read a ton of reviews before purchasing this one. I've bought many other comforters from Overstock over the years, all real down, all at great prices for down, but one thing I've found with down is that dust mites love it, and so with an allergy prone husband I decided that maybe this time we should go for something else. Being used to a big fluffy down comforter (although the down was shifting and causing empty spots... another downer w/ down...) I waited patiently when I unpacked the comforter to see it appear as "fluffy" too... all the other reviews kept going on about it being "so fluffy" but that was far from my mind when I unpacked it, even by the evening... I now realize that it is indeed very fluffy when compared to any other alternative comforter. If you're looking for big and fluffy then really nothing beats real down. Having said that though I am truly pleased with this comforter and can't believe how nice and warm it is. I wouldn't quite label it as fluffy, but it's not thin either. It has a nice weight to it, not too heavy not too light. And even though the fluffy reviews had thrown me off somewhat I found this comforter to be fabulous. And I know it's going to keep us nice and warm during our Montana winters. For this price you can't even find a simple throw so it's truly unbeatable! It did take almost two weeks to arrive after ordering, however that's just the mail system and doesn't reflect this product. Thanks Overstock!
This is a good buy for the price. looks great on my bed without a duvet cover. Have a queen bed and sized up to the King comforter, which is perfect. Previous reviews complained about the noise it makes which worried me, but I have no problem with the slight crinkling sound, and would probably not even have noticed it if I hadn't read the previous reviews. Quality was as expected and loft looks just like it did in the picture on the website. It is nice and puffy and full. Much nicer compared to the one deflated looking one my boyfriend has. Have not laundered it yet, but ability to launder is a big plus. Using as a summer comforter so far so can not attest to warmth. I have been comfy with the AC on. Overall, great buy and I would highly recommend.

Although I am still using this after a year, I plan to replace when it gets to the top of my "need now" list. What bothers me is how stiff this seems. It is "slick "under the duvet and it isn't soft and doesn't "sink" around you when covering you. Will buy in person and check out the softness of the next one I buy.
Other reviewers had said that it has a funny crinkle noise, as if the manufacturer wanted you to think it was filled with down. It does have a noticeable sound but we got used to it immediately. It's so warm and snuggy, with good loft for an excellent price, that I don't regret the noise at all. The box-pattern of the stitching is slightly noticeable through the cloth of the duvet, but again, not a significant drawback. Still a happy purchase.
Shipped quickly and turned out to be just what we needed for this freezing weather. Very warm and the fabric covering the comforter is very nice. I definitely recommend this if what you're looking for is an alternative to a down feather comforter.
I have a bit of a problem with sweating at night, so after some research, I realized that a down comforter wasn't really going to help with that. The alternative--a down alternative comforter. I love this comforter. It keeps me warm without me roasting inside it. The quilting keeps the thickness of the filling evenly distributed, and overall it has a nice amount of puff--nothing super puffy, but puffy enough for my tastes. Some people say it's loud or noisy or something, and I guess it kind of makes a rustling noise when you move. Not really something that bothers me. I put it inside a 650 thread count Egyptian cotton duvet from Overstock, and it's a dream to sleep in. I literally do not want to get out of bed.
Since I have asthma, I can't use down comforters any more. These down alternative comforters are a very good alternative. Though nothing beats the softness of the down, this comes pretty close. It's nice and cozy in the winter and not too hot in the summer, just like the down. I'm happy with it and bought one for my guest room too.
This down alternative comforter is exactly what I wanted to replace a very old IKEA down alternative comforter. And it is more. The measurements are bigger than my old IKEA comforter,. The warmth is perfect, as is the weight. And I really rather like the little crinkly noise - very soft, kind of fun.
This item lost a star because it doesn't have the tabs in the corner you can use with a duvet to stop it from shifting around. I sewed half a shoelace on each corner to remedy that, but if I didn't have to do that it would have received all 5 stars.
I was looking to find a cheap replacement for my old and slightly worn out alternative down comforter... well I found one....CHEAP! I guess you get what you paid for. I'd rather pay $100+ for something luxurious than sleep with this thing. I literally just got it out of the box, unpacked it, tried to fluff it up, then packed it right back up. It is LOUD, not just the normal slight crinkle of down comforters, but obnoxiously loud! The low thread count makes it a very rough fabric. I never recall 230 thread counts feeling this rough. It also has like no filling whatsoever. I am a female who is almost always cold (no surprise) when I get into bed so I like to be "cocooned" by my bedding. My old comforter (when it was in its prime) was super thick/fluffy, had a slight weight to it and was super soft. This was none of those. It was thin, not at all fluffy (even after spending a large amount of time "flapping" it out to try to fluff it up), too light and WAY TOO NOISY! I will for sure be returning this. It reminds me of cheap comforters at cheaper hotel...always noisy and not that warm. I guess if it was for a guest room it would be okay, but for my bed, this simply does not come anywhere near to the quality of more expensive comforters.
I was nervous about the level of crinkling sound reported by other reviewers, but went ahead and got the king size for my queen bed and it looks great with the overhang. The loft is nice and warm without being too warm. I keep my home cool at night and I use another plush blanket along with this comforter, to give an idea of the warmth. The cotton fabric *is* a little crisp sounding, especially without a duvet cover, but I am a noise sensitive sleeper and the noise doesn't wake me. I haven't washed the duvet yet, but I think a wash with some fabric softener would soften the crispness of the cotton a little. The fabric does feel high-quality and the loft hasn't shifted at this point, so I am very happy with this comforter overall.
I am so impressed with my comforter, it is not only lovely, but the comforter is made to perfection. I was also very pleased with the price. I have been pricing them in department stores and the don't com pare to what I paid. I highly recommend this comforter.
I ordered the king for a queen bed, because I wanted the sides to hang down more than a queen-size would. This fits perfectly. We have used it a couple of times, because it seems spring has returned! The comforter is very warm and has a nice weight to it.
I was so pleased even when it went through the wash. It really is stunning and very comfortable on my bed. It brightens the whole bedroom and along with the new sheets it was a very fantastic deal!
