MIRACLE!!! Why didn't I know about this sooner?!
from Pacific Northwest,  Oct 20, 2013

OM G! Why did I never think to look for something like sooner? I've spent over 3 years (menopause, ya' know?) tossing and turning every night- BLANKETS ON-BLANKETS OFF! I sleep through the night now- BLISS. I love that this is self-cooling- unlike my "chillow" which I had to add water too, got all bunched up and eventually leaked :( Caveats: 1) yes, it is a stiff plastic thing that impedes some of the cushiness your mattress may provide, so you might not like it if you prefer a mattress that molds to you (like memory foam). I don't really like sleeping on memory foam, so this doesn't bother me. 2) you have to put a thick layer of sheet/blanket between you & the pad or it will be too cold to lie on at first. I use 2 or 3 layers of flannel sheet which works fine 3) it is very cold when you first lay on it & you'll have to experiment with what works for you. 4) if you place the pad vertically, as in the picture, it won't be big enough for 2 people; if you turn it horizontal, both people will have enough coolness on upper bodies (I don't need it under my legs anyway). If you suffer night-time over-heating, this is definitely worth a try and, in my opinion/experiece, well worth the $$

Do not buy
 from Texas,  Oct 9, 2013

This is the worst product I have ever received. The product is hard and makes an awful noise whenever it moves. It is a hard rubber-type surface. If it worked, I don't think anyone could sleep on it! I returned it.

Good Idea but Needs Help
from New Mexico,  Sep 28, 2013

The cool slumber products seem to help keep you cool. But they will not stay in place, particularly if there is only one person in bed. The bed pad also wrinkles and seems impossible to straighten out.
