To be honest, I wasn't expecting much from these considering the low price, but they are great! They aren't bulky, zipped smoothly, they washed well (read the instructions) and easily fit our overstuffed king size down pillows. I used them inside linen pillow cases and the terry seems to keep the pillow "in place" nicely. Oh, and there's zero noise or smell from the waterproof liner. Very pleased with this purchase!
I tend to go to bed with wet hair, and over time, it's terrible for your pillows. I just bought new pillows and wanted to save them from a fate like every other pillow I've ever owned, so I gave these a try. The terry cloth outer surface is fairly soft and it has the added benefit of keeping the pillowcase from sliding off. The inside has a rubberized surface that definitely keeps water out. The only drawback I can see to these covers is that they're a tad snug, so they don't allow much room for your pillows to "squish out" under the weight of your head. On the other hand, if you've got pillows that are losing their loft, this could plump them up a bit.
These pillow protectors are fantastic. In my opinion, their only quirk is they are so airtight when you first lay your head down, your pillow is BLOWN UP like a balloon. This is not actually a problem because it deflates rapidly. I have bought one of these for every pillow in my house. I wash my pillow protectors every couple weeks and I always hang dry them. I feel the inside coating on the protector would eventually deteriorate if dried frequently in the dryer.
The product arrived in a timely manner and was packaged well. Great price and no need to go with the other products that are higher priced with no water repellent feature.
- How did the color on site compare with the actual product? The pillow cover was white so it matched
- Please tell us about the quality of the product. The terry fabric is soft even after washing. The product maintains the size i.e. king and queen after washings. We have not had anyone spill on the pillow so cannot review in regards to the waterproofing. The case actually gives new life to pillows making them "fluff" up more.
- How accurate was the on site description of the product? Accurate description
Hard to find truly waterproof pillow covers without the feel of plastic. Even harder to find them in king size. These were worth the search. The terry cloth finish makes them comfortable; they are definitely waterproof and they stand up to the normal washing machine cycle. Need I say more.
I bought these waterproof pillow protectors to extend the life of our pillows, since we had just bought new ones. Good pillows can be an expensive investment, and we seem to go through pillows quickly, because hubby has unusually oily hair, and after a very short while, even with regular washings of pillow cases and pillow protectors, his pillow will start to smell. Washing the pillows always makes them lumpy, and eventually even that won't help. I thought waterproof pillow protectors might work better. These do the trick! The only complaint I have about them is that the pillows tend to "bubble" a bit now, because the trapped air in the pillows can't escape through the waterproof lining. This hasn't affected the quality of our sleep, however, so it's definitely not something that would prevent me from using these. In fact, I plan to get a set for our guest bed, as well.
I bought some new pillows and wanted to try using pillow protectors, so I don't have to wash the pillows so often. These look like they have stiff ivory colored fabric in the picture, but in reality, they have true white fabric that's soft to the touch, they don't make any sound at all, which is something I was worried about thinking how waterproof usually means plastic materials. I tried them for a couple of weeks and as much as I like the idea of being able to wash just the pillow case and pillow protector instead of a whole pillow, I took them off and am not using them anymore. My new pillows are soft and squishey like a bunch of clouds, which feels great, reminds me of those hotel pillows that you just sink into, but using the pillow protectors on such pillows takes the fluff out of them, once squished they don't bounce back as quickly as they normally do without the protectors. I would recommend this to people using firmer pillows, not fluffy airy ones, as it might obstruct air flow and flatten them down when laying on them. After taking off the pillow protectors and back to using just regular pillow cases, the pillows bounced back to normal, so no permanent damage done to the pillows.
