Taylor Warm Quilt Set

This is a very nice quilt. Unfortunately for me, the color just did not match my other bedding so I had to send it back. I ordered it in the king for my queen bed for two reasons: 1) I had two king shams and it can sometimes be difficult to find those. 2) I often find that after several washings, quilts like this shrink and I like to have some extra material for my bed. The size was nice for my queen, actually (a little long on the sides but not too long (for me at least)). The color was pretty and I liked the material. It is just that the color was more of a burnt, rusty, brick red which clashed with my other cherry red bedding. I wish it would have worked because it was very nice.

I was very disappointed in the overall look of this coverlet. The colors look washed out and it looks like a quilt I would used to cover furniture when I was moving.

I love the size, color, and pattern on this quilt. It was a good value for the money, but comes out of the bag really stiff.... LOTS of starch in the fabric. It took four washings to get all of the starch out. It came out of the first wash covered in white starch residue, and the color had already faded. It didn't even fade evenly, there are some spots that really stand out, especially on the brown side... as can't even display the brown side... I have to make sure that my sheets cover it when I fold back the covers on my made bed. That being said, it is pretty soft, it is nice and light weight and large... plenty large for cover-hogging me and my fiance, and the pattern is far more beautiful than the images let on... just find a way to wash the starch out without letting the color fade, or sleep with a stiff quilt. By the way, other people have commented on the color... it is more of a rusty red than a fire engine red, but it looked like that on my computer screen and it was exactly what I wanted.

This quilt covering is well made and the colors are o.k. The brown is true, the red is more brick red than cherry red. It is completely functional, but does not have all of the pizzaz I wanted. I did have to buy something that was machine washable and I think that his will wash o.k. Our son has 3 Aussies and a German Shepherd that come in at night and will certainly be found on the bed one time or another, so if this holds up to them it will be a good buy. It is too early to know just yet. The set is still in its wrapping. .
