I bought two of the red throws and have not been disappointed. The main color that you can see so well in the pictures is a darker burgundy red while the three colors running through the blanket that you can't see so well are a bright & clear red, a plum purple, and a light golden tan. The blanket itself feels well made and is very soft. The weave is a medium-tight weave - it doesn't snag easily but you can stick a finger through if you try really hard. The wash instructions say to hand wash and lay flat to dry. That was way too complicated and so the first thing I did when I got my blankets was stick them in the washer on permanent press/cold water with the gentlest of detergents. I then stuck them in the dryer on low heat for a half hour. I couldn't be happier with the results. Not only did the blankets stop shedding, the horrendous plastic smell disappeared and the blankets actually became softer.
I labored over this purchase and combed the web to find the perfect throw. Although pretty and very soft, it is not well made. The weave is very loose, and although I was super careful I still snagged it in three places just opening the package. Aside from the snags, there were loose threads hanging and unwinding in several places on the blanket. I'm afraid to wash it as the other reviewer suggested because I think it will fall apart. I'll keep it but I wish I had got something I could really use and don't have to be so careful with.
I was very disappointed in the quality of this throw. When I first opened the package, I was horrified as the throw appeared to have 3 fairly large holes in it. The holes are actually very large spaces between the rows of yarn. I took another reviewer's advice and washed the throw in cold water on a very gentle cycle and dried it on low. That helped as it tightened up the yarn (and it also removed the odor of the UPS truck). However, the "holes" are still evident when the throw is opened. I chose not to return the throw because the color is perfect with our comforter and it is just tossed at the end of the bed, so I can cover up the "holes". But honestly, even though the price is less than some more expensive throws, I believe this one is not worth the money. And speaking of color...the description says "cream" and while it does have cream in it, the primary color is a sage green, which just happens to work fine for my purposes, but...FYI.
The colors on this throw are extremely attractive. However, it pulls very easy. I have only had it about week and there are approximately 5 pulls. This throw has only been used 3 times. Buy this product if it's just for decoration as oppose to actually using it
