I love these featherbeds and have them on every bed in my home. The one on my own bed is over 5 years old and is just as perfectly comfortable today, as it was when it was brand new. I fluff them every time I change the sheets and that keeps them wonderfully comfortable. It's a pleasure to climb into bed.

I purchased this because our memory foam mattress seems to be too hard for me and has been hurting my back. I bought this featherbed hoping that it would create a thick, soft layer. While it is intially soft, it feels kind of hard and makes it difficult to roll over. Not exactly what I was hoping for but it does help a little.

This is as advertised. Since there's more feathers than down, it doesn't have quite the soft feel I imagined, but then I should have paid more attention to the info about the contents. Overall, it's fine.

    • A Must Buy Featherbed!!-Their not kidding 5-inches
      Verified Purchase

Looking for a featherbed--This is the one!! I was leary when I received it and opened it up because of past experiences with purchasing other featherbeds. Not this one--they are not kidding when they say 5-inches thick it really is!! And to receive a cover sheet for that price-unbelievable. Lay it out on your bed and slide your cover sheet on--it begins to instantly fluff up and rise. I pushed the sides in and the top and bottom in and up until it is piled up like a pyramid on my bed, I let it sit that way to air out and fluff up. It really works--I do this every other week to really fluff it up-- and believe me it responds. I have to tell you that it is truly like sleeping on a cloud!! I had a friend who was store buying featherbeds for twice the cost and returning them because he was so dissatisfied. I told him to purchase this one and he loves it. He said,"Finally a featherbed that is all that it says it is...I cannot believe how comfortable this is." It is well worth the price..... and one comparable in quality would easily go for twice the price. If you have had similiar experiences with trying to find a good featherbed--Seriously!!---Look No More--This Is The One!!

    • Super snooze Featherbed

Alright, so. Let me just start off saying that i found most other reviews lacking much information and i wanted to leave one with a bit more substance to it to hopefully help at least one person make a well informed purchase regardless of other reviews. So. I was browsing the web for mattress toppers at reasonable prices, because i'm on a budget. i came across this. After much comparing, i came up with a verdict. most, if not almost ALL Higher end feather-beds, especially with down content (this one has none) are usually HALF as thick as this one, but cost TWICE the price. Down is for warmth and a little extra softness, feathers provide softness and more support than down. I get really hot easily when i sleep so i was avoiding down, but looking for plush softness, So, that's what prompted me to make the purchase. I did however start browsing the comments and reviews a day after i made the order, and came across the negative reviews..i did worry a little, but once it arrived, l was more than certainly satisfied. some reviews said it was "too flat" or "crunchy"..I would just like to let everyone know the "crunch" associated with this particular feather-bed, is from the cover. It is because it is extra tightly woven cotton, (to prevent the feathers from poking through) As for those people who stated "it isn't 5 inches" or "Feel like it was misrepresented" in terms of thickness or flatness...Feather beds, regardless if they're all down, or all feather, or blended WILL be comfortable and WILL flatten down, EVERY, NIGHT. The secret is it MUST, MUST, MUST!! I REPEAT MUST!!!! a MILLION times MUST!!!!!!! BE FLUFFED EVERY DAY FOR THE "CLOUD" or "SINK IN" FEELING AND TO REACH MAXIMUM LOFT (height) I REPEAT ...DAILY!!! and i cannot stress that enough. Fluffing every day = Thick, Puffy Soft, cloud 5+ inches high. Not fluffing = flat, still comfy not 5 inches high This feather bed is 5 inches + when fluffed. When i fluff it, which i do very thoroughly, EVERY DAY, is EASILY 5 + inches, never any less. i repeat, NEVER less than 5 inches, when fluffed. Thats the way feather-beds have been since the 14th century, and its STILL that way today. There is simply NO way around it unless you have someone else do it for you. so if you're lazy, you probably wont enjoy any feathered, ever. Sorry. I might also add this was my first mattress topper / feather-bed purchase ever, and i am very very please in terms of comfort to price ratio. I am sleeping comfortably every night thus far (its been a month since i received it) and have not had a problem with feathers poking/ coming out or anything of the sort. Cover is very high quality, as well as the baffled part itself. Amazing for the price, and considering buying a second one to put on top of this one. Just because im a glutton for comfort.

After returning from a trip to Chicago where I slept on a luxurious featherbed at the posh W hotel, I went on a mission to find a comparable bed. Sleeping at the W was the best sleep I'd had in ages... like sleeping on a cloud as they say! My hunt ended when I found this wonderful featherbed from I was skeptical at first... could it really be as great as the reviews and at such an affordable price? YES YES YES!!! My featherbed arrived amazingly fast and the quality is unbelievable. The bed is thick, heavy, luxurious and very well made. To be honest, I didn't expect much from the included cover and was prepared to purchase a separate cover. To my delight, I was wrong. The cover is wonderful as well! I'd buy another for my guest room but I'm sure my guests would never leave!!! <g> This is my second purchase from Overstock and I can't begin to sing their praises loud enough. Great customer service and super fast shipping add to the incredible bargains.

    • Worth 10x It's Weight in GOLD (PUFFY BED)
      Verified Purchase

It was delivered yesterday (Friday). No bad smell at all. It had to be shaken and aired out so that it can "breathe" to allow it get fluffy. We call it the PUFFY bed. This featherbed is HEAVY - the fill is very high. Its comfortable and soft - while it gives support. You will have to shake it every day or so to make sure it remains "puffy" - as you would with any other featherbed. The included duvet cover is very smooth (high thread count) - fits like a glove and does not allow for the feathers come through. The height of ours is as stated 5". Its stitched in sections to prevent the feathers from shifting to one side of the featherbed. We purchased the King size and its covers our mattress perfectly. We are very pleased with this product. It was purchased to replace the (more expensive) 3" featherbed we've had for over three years and was not as high and highly filled as this one. Highly recommend a featherbed to all my friends, its the ultimate luxurious item for your bedroom. This one will be on the top of the list of recommendations! Our first night sleeping on it, well ...let me just say we did not get out of bed until noon!! A great purchase at an incredible price. Super fast shipping. does it again!

I received my feather bed one day while my husband was out-of-town. When he came home and laid down for a good night's rest, he raised the sheets and said, "What is this?!?!?" I said, "It's our new featherbed!" He said, "I'm telling you right now, I'm not going to like it". I asked him to sleep on it just one night and if he didn't like it, I would take it off." Much to his dismay, he loved it! He said, "That was the best nights sleep he had in a long time." We have had it for about a month now and can't wait to climb into bed every night. We loved it so much that we bought another one for our guest bedroom. Try it - you'll love it!!!!!

    • I'm looking for a 4 or 5" featherbed that has Down on top layer or in it, which is the best one listed on here? We need soft & very fluffy, filled all the way up so won't bunch up. I want it to feel like laying on a cloud & want one that lasts long time but also comes with a warranty in case i need to return. Can you help me?

    • Is there any DOWN in this bed or is it just goose feathers?

      • Just feathers - it's very comfortable

      • I think it is features. They do poke through occasionally. I do not like the topper. it does not stay fluffed and soft but gets matted down and feels hard. I would not purchase.

      • Just feathers, too thick for me. Felt like I was in a taco.

      • Just feathers, too thick but not firm for me. Felt like I was in a taco.

    • I have had TERRIBLE experience with featherbed toppers....with that said, any issues with feathers poking through?? I have arthritis and ankylosing spondylitis which makes sleeping DREADFUL...I am also purchasing a 3 in memory foam topper... I DO NOT need firm hard support, I need support with plushness. Is this topper suitable for my needs and with the memory foam or should I consider another one and will this topper eventually have the feathers poking through? Thank you so much in advance!!

      • I have had this topper for a few years and only noticed feathers poking threw a few times. I often shake the topper to fluff it back up and then flip it over, so, that may be what helps.

      • I wrote a detailed multi-faceted review on 5/2/16 that might help answer your questions (sort reviews by date). In my review I was trying to take into consideration that everyone has a different thought as to the perfect bed. I bought ours in March/April (nor feathers have popped thru) and bought a 2nd one this week for a vacation cabin that we have that has a memory foam bed (temperpedic knockoff which is too firm), so we definitely like it. My husband has mild stenosis in his neck, and I think this featherbed has helped. Read the 5/2/16 review for easy and quick fluffing tip too (that could work with any fetherbed) -- routine fluffing will probably be critical to what you want to achieve.

      • All feather beds require some minor maintenance and this is no exception, but I love it. Warning: it is heavy, as would be expected given the fact that it is 5". I have only had issues with feathers when the cover was not on, and that is not often. Best to fluff up and rotate feather beds, make sure the feathers are evenly spaced. There is always a space in the baffle designs that you can push feathers through (to another square) if they get wonky after a while. This topper seemed less trouble than others I have had and was very, very plushy to sleep on. I would imagine it would have more give than memory foam, which I do not like. Good luck!

      • I have had the topper a few months and use it on a bed in a bed and breakfast. We shake it , fluff up, each time the sheets are changed. I did place inside the cover that comes with it. I am very happy,so far, I am not finding feather point escapes at all. Guests consistently love how plush the bed feels. It is great that is boxed off, so the feathers stay distributed. Fluff it up, flip it over once and enjoy a good nights rest.

      • Hello there Overall I find this one very comfortable. Once in a blue moon I can feel a feather but very rarely. I think with memory foam this should be nice. I like mine very much. Hope this helps.

      • September of this year will be one year since I bought mine. I fluff it twice a week just because I love the way a freshly fluffed feather bed feels. With the cover that comes with it, I have not once yet been poked by a feather. I did end up buying a different cover for the featherbed, only because I have a tendency to get too hot at night, so I bought a "cooling" cover. For the price, I don't think you'll be disappointed at all with this feather bed!

      • I use a featherbed cover and then cover with high thread count fitted sheet. Have never felt a feather poke thru.

      • I got rid of mine. It made my bed very lumpy. I bought a 3in memory foam at Walmart and love it.

      • Thanks for all the feedback! I'm going to give it a try, honestly being only 42 but waking up almost in tears from pain...anything has got to be better than what I currently have! Thanks again for all of the feedback! 👍🏼

      • I have had the feather bed for over a year. Not a single feather has come through and we love the topper. I can recommend getting it and trying it oiut! Chris

      • Hi! I am so sorry for your pain! I have had arthritis since I was 10, for 28 years and was misdiagnosed with ankylosing spondylosis to find out I have fibromyalgia, really badly, in my back. I also have multiple sclerosis, so I am no stranger to pain and I think I might be able to sympathize a bit with what you're going through. We purchased this feather bed a couple months ago and I am so grateful we did! It comes with a cover and no feathers have poked through, unlike my previous featherbed! It is fluffy and soft so if your joints don't quite lay the way they're supposed to or are inflamed and sensitive, they won't be up against a hard surface like the mattress. Also, I'd recommend fluffing it every day to help with this. I don't, but when I'm having a really hard painful day, I do. I hope this helps and I pray your pain gets better!

      • I have not seen one feather come through and we have had it about 8 months. It's great.

      • I have had much better feather bed toppers; I wish I could remember the one I purchased before. I also have extreme back and neck issues and this topper does not help even being on a wonderful mattress.

    • Can you use this on a platform bed instead of a bespread?

      • If you mean use it as a bedspread, I'd say no. I bought the queen size for our guest bed. It weighs about 20 lbs. It is thick and heavy, and meant to be slept on, not under. I don't see why you couldn't used it on a platform bed because you'd be putting it on top of your mattress and basically making it thicker.

      • No, the set is quite thick and plush. I do not think it would work as a bed spread.

      • Not really. This is not a comforter or duvet. You sleep on top of it. Toppers can be made from many materials: memory foam, egg crate, wool, feather, down, microfibers (faux down). They are intended to "soften" a mattress that is too firm and/or give a certain type of support that the mattress is missing.

    • Hey, does anyone know how long these last before they need replacing with constant use? I would appreciate knowing :)

      • I've had one for over a year and no problems. The topper is the BEST I've ever bought. Luxurious!

      • I have had mine for about 6 months. I do not like it, the feathers move to the areas that are not laid on constantly and the ones that are under you compact and seem hard. You will have to fluff every few days to keep feathers where they should be.

      • I have had my feather bed for over a year and it is still great. Our daughter slept on one from about age 10-18. People use feather duvets for many years. Many would get one for a wedding present and use it for their entire marriage (old european custom). They do have to be washed occasionally, but I keep a mattress pad on top of my feather bed to keep it clean with the sheets over that. We only shake it out when changing the sheets weekly. Our daughter slept on hers from about age 10-18 and it is still as good as new. Feathers just need to be fluffed.

      • I've had one on every bed in my house (4), for over a year, and everyone who sleeps on them, rarely want to get out of bed! They are fabulous, and after a year, they are like new.

      • Do you put in on top of the sheet

      • I believe warranty is 10 years. Regular fluffing should help keep it going strong for years.

      • I replace mine about every two years.

      • You know I purchased mine over 3 months a go. & really thought i was going to be sleeping on a cloud. It felt unfortunately hard and no movement. It felt like I was sleeping on stiff lumps. I was so excited to get relief from my hard mattress that I checked overstock and read reviews and said ok I made my decison. The 1st night .. ok.. 2nd and so on..Oh was NOT what i had wished. I woke up with my hips and shoulder, lower back bothering me. I'm a Massage therapist and work hard at what I do so comfort was what I wished and hoped for.. I don't give this one a thumbs up. It was heavy and lumpy and dead weight..:-( no cloud for me....felt like I was laying ON TOP of a winter down comforter... the down bunched up into lumps.. n its so heavy to move and try and fluff up... I went to a another sight and purchased a feather topper.. Now I'm sleeping on a cloud...

    • Hi I've read through all the questions and many asked where this product was made. The listing states the USA. Twice the overstock reps answered it was made in China, and twice they answered in Switzerland. And once in the USA. How can we trust these answers are correctly researched and answered when it's evident reps are giving out contradicting answers?

      • The raw materials for our products are imported from China and then assembled in the United States.

    • What type of feathers? Goose or Duck or Combo??

      • I now have the answer to my question because my order arrived the other day. The tag says 100% sterilized duck feathers; made for Pacific Coast Feather in Seattle WA; Made in USA of imported materials; 100% cotton cover.

    • What is the fill power?

      • The fill power is as following: Twin-192 oz, Full-272oz, Queen-304 oz, king-352 oz, and California King 352 oz.

      • In my opinion this is not a good product you have to fluff it to make it level out and it still does not support my body.

      • I think "fill power" is the wrong term. "Fill power" refers to "down", and this has no down in it. It is 100% feathers. But it is advertised at 19 pounds (which is indeed 304 oz) of feathers for the Queen size featherbed.

    • How many inches thick is it?

      • The title and details both state that it is 5 inches

      • Hello KJK, the thickness is approximately five inches. Thanks for shopping with us!

      • The feather bed is 5 inches thick. It's amazing...

      • I would agree that fully fluffed it is the 5" described. Compressed from use takes it to about 2.5". It seems typical to lose about half to compression from use (until you re-fluff it of course).
