Solid Marrow Stitch 1500 Thread Count Sheet Set

Quality: seems very well-made. Washed before using, and no pilling or loose threads showed up anywhere, and did not notice any loss of color. The color i chose was plum, and is very rich, almost an aubergine / eggplant. I was expecting them to be a bit more on the royal purple shade of plum based on the picture, but i am not disappointed. Packaging: shipping packaging was fine, but the package the sheets were in was ripped - not a big deal - i inspected for any damage or dirt and there was none. The sheets themselves: description states that the fitted sheet will fit up to 18" mattress: we have a pillow-top mattress with a pretty thick quilted mattress protector - and the fitted sheet is almost too big, so much so that I am wondering if it were, in fact, meant for a king-size bed. I can work around this though, and also know that if i ever choose to add a feather-bed or something i should still have room for it with these sheets. I have in the past ordered sheets that are meant for bigger mattress heights but they fell short, these particular sheets I ordered are much bigger than expected, at least the fitted sheet is. The fitted sheet has elastic (good elastic, too) all around the sheet, not just at the corners. These sheets are VERY heavy. they are the heaviest sheets i have ever purchased, even heavier than any flannel sheet or high thread count egyptian cotton sheets. I can see the top sheet being warm enough to use without a blanket depending on the weather. We live in northeastern Ohio and go through all of the weather extremes up here, so they should be good for year-round use. Being of a higher thread count (1500) they feel almost like silk or satin but without the high level of slippery-ness you get with satin sheets. Because of the weight and quality of them, i would be shocked if they ever show any serious signs of wear or thinning. Care: Instructions state wash delicate cycle cold water and dry on low heat....and that is how i washed them and used liquid fabric softener. Stayed soft and comfortable after their first wash, and like i said, i did not notice any loss of color upon the first washing. Be aware, you are instructed to dry on low heat, and these sheets took FOREVER to dry on that setting. Had to put the fitted and top sheet through 3 drying cycles before i was satisfied that they were dry.
