4.2 out of 5I was pleased with the cotton duvet when I received it (very quickly) with the exception of the color as it was a bit darker than I expected. But, for the price, I can live with the darker color! After ironing everything up, I placed my comforter in the duvet and pillows in the shams and my bed looks elegantly dressed for such an extremely reasonable price! I have used the set for about a month now and had expected the duvet to wrinkle easily, but it does not! This set was definitely a good bargain, just like I've found many times at overstock.com.
This duvet set is perfect as an update for my down comforter! I ordered it in white, and it is very bright and clean looking. The material was soft even before washing, and is even softer after. The buttons are (sensibly) right at one edge - a contrast to other covers I've had. Makes it easier to make the bed without worrying that the buttons will be in the way. Also, I didn't even realize it comes with two shams - what a bonus! Highly recommend.
I ordered my duvet in navy, and really love the color. I do have some complaints about it though. It washes well, but is loaded with wrinkles afterwards. The buttons that close it started coming off after the 3rd washing, and it holds pet hair to it something awful. Definately a no-no if you have pets. The pillowcases were small for a standard pillow - you had to squeeze them in. All in all, if you want an inexpensive duvet, this is the way to go, but I would avoid it if you have pets.
I bought this beautiful duvet in Hunter Green some time ago. It has a really pretty Jacquard weave and is soft and comfortable. No complaints, just an observation. It bleeds a lot in the wash. Make sure to wash it separately or all of your laundry will come out green. This duvet is a super buy. It is well worth the money. This is a super deal hiding in plain sight. You will not find a better deal anywhere!
This is my first duvet cover. I had purchased a very nice bedding set during the winter, but it seemed at bit "heavy" looking for summer use. So, I ordered the cover in taupe, put the spread inside it, and voila! A cool crisp summery looking spread. Mine had no wrinkles or smell, as noted by other customers. Maybe it is in the dye? I am so pleased I have just ordered another one for another bedroom. Thanks Overstock for the price, quality and service.
I ordered this Duvet cover set about 2 years ago. I ordered the navy blue, in the Full/Queen Size for my Queen sized bed. It fits just fine, & it has held up pretty well over the past 2 years. Once inside & adjusted properly, the comforter stays put & doesn't "slip" or move around. The navy color is darker than in the picture, & not as "bright"...but I actually prefer the darker color, & I would say that it would match just about any decor. The price was great, & it suits the purpose that I bought it for...so I would recommend it if you're looking for a simple, decently priced duvet cover. But here are some of the downsides, for your consideration: - It is VERY thin...(but it does wash easily, & it doesn't take up too much room in the washing machine)! :) - It wrinkles easily, & always needs ironing of some sort , when coming out of the dryer! - The shams were too big for my regular sized pillows, so I never even used them. They seem large in comparison to most other shams! - This duvet cover seems to attract pet hair...so it might not be ideal for anyone who has a cat! Aside from those negative aspects...I think it was a good deal, and I am still pleased with the purchase, even 2 years later.
I ordered two of the same color duvet covers for my children's room. When the package arrived there were two different colors navy blue and bone. In addition, the quality is not what I expected. On the photo it looks much better that in reality. The fabric is very thin and looks cheap. Also, to return it I have to pay about $11for shipping
I got this in green. The additional color really brightened up my room and my down comforter is finally protected. Washes well and easily slips on.
The quality of the fabric is about as good as a throwing a cheap sheet on your bed, and it does not fit my comforter all that well with the pattern showing thru because it is so thin. Besides, I ordered a King comforter and did not realize that a standard pillow sham is included. Hello, every other King set I have ordered includes a King sham.. So now I have to buy shams. Would not recommend.
This is the first Overstock.com purchase in which I have been disappointed. There is a seam that is not in the middle, nor is it centered on each side of the cover - just somewhere west of center. The sham covers are small, as described, but again, the stitching is not centered so that when ironing the sham covers, it is impossible to produce a smooth appearance. I also thought the color rather sickly. It was very inexpensive; in this case, it was no bargain. I intend to use the cover as a throw to protect my sofa when the dog is in the house.
For the price, I was expecting really thin, scratchy material, but the exact opposite was true! The color is vibrant and the sizing is perfect. The only problem was a button that fell off as soon as we got it out of the package, but a little thread and needle and it was good as new. Good product.
Color is nice, a bit deeper than shown but the quality is awful....super thin and scratchy
They are certainly less comfortable than what I was hoping for. I mean, I bought the comforter for COMFORT, and adding the duvet cover just kind of reduced that. I think with some more washes, it will get better, but I wish I would have spent ten dollars more and got a better quality.
Just got this in the mail it came in a small thin box- right then I knew this item was not a true duvet- this is a crappy sheet with two pillow cases- for $****????NOW they tell me that I can return it for $10- I cannot believe it. Take a look at the photo of this fluffy bed- you would be lead to believe it is the duvet- well folks it is not- the duvet you get is like a sheet set minus the fitted sheet part so for $**** buy something else.
I was very pleased with the quality of this cover set. It was just as descibed. It buttoned at one end and had two pillow covers. The fabric was soft and the color was as pictured. I was trying to match drapes I already owned which had a hint of yellow. This cover in sage actually leaned more toward a cool color with a hint of blue. I would have kept this very nice cover if it had been closer to the color I needed.
This duvet cover is really great for the price! It washes extremely well (would recommend taking it out of the dryer immediately to avoid too many wrinkles but nothing an iron couldn't fix). I ordered the taupe. The color, to me, is exactly as it appears on the page. The only drawback is that the full/queen is a little smaller than described. I measured 80in by 80 in, so it's a little short for a queen bed but more than likely perfect for a full. This time when I order I will probably go with a king size so that it will hang down just a bit more on the sides. Other than that, it really is a good deal!
I thought this set was great quality and comfort with a very small price tag. I like changing sets according to season and didnt want to invest in a super expensive duvet cover, but have something for everyday use. It is made of a very soft cotton, easy to iron and put on your bed. buttons close up the duvet cover and you can put them facing the inside for added comfort. The pillowcases have a plain seam but in perfect condition, nothing fell apart. I probably will buy another set of a different color to have another one to switch during washes. Great buy.
I ordered the navy duvet cover expecting it to be great based on the reviews I read prior to purchasing. Unfortunately, it was very thin and after washing and drying it was extremely wrinkled. As other reviewers stated, the duvet can be ironed. Although the price is great, I'd recommend spending a little extra and getting a higher quality product.
I ordered the white - after washing, wrinkles bad, but smooths out decently. May want to iron the shams b/c they stay pretty wrinkled. Is soft and washes well. Was a little big for my queen down comforter. Overall, a good duvet for the price.
Good Points: I was looking for an inexpensive light-weight duvet cover for an inexpensive duvet. I find the fabric to be very soft and would have guessed it had a higher thread count. Washes and dries without shrinkage. I find the wrinkles minimal. Bad Points: If the button-closure end is used at the foot or head of the bed there is an odd seam that runs vertically down about 2/3's of the way over. The seam is on both sides and it’s not a “decorative design feature”. The description doesn't specify bottom or side buttons...not can a seam be seen in the picture. I don't mind a side closure but it doesn't fit my bed well that way. As others have commented the “sage” color is a deeper than the swatch shown. If it were not for the seam issue I’d give it 5 stars.
