    • Would recamend this to anyone.

I bought this for a brank new bed which was way to hard, so my sales person told me to buy a topper for it. It ended up being the best thing I could do. I have had a few family members sleep on the bed after buying the topper and could not believe it was the same bed.

    • Love it

This is like sleeping on clouds! It's so comfortable that I don't want to get out of bed. I don't find it hot like some reviewers, my only issue is finding sheets to fit this and my deep mattress on my king bed. I've actually bought California king sheets, they are a bit loose but that makes it more comfy. Otherwise the bottom sheet comes up and just hugs the topper, which doesn't infringe on my sleep.

    • " COULD BE BETTER..."

It is difficult to choose from the wide array of memory foam toppers that O. has available for purchase. After having purchased several over the years I am offering my two cents worth review on them. They ALL will probably smell for a few days after opening them but that smell will eventually disappear & then you're left with a terrific product that will give you a great night's rest----(so ,totally worth the initial " smell issue!! ) I think either 3" or 4" is good, depending on the depth you need for your sheets to fit. Also, both the 3 # density and the 4# density is s-o-o-o cushy & comfy, so that is a matter of personal choice....but I would not buy a topper with less than 3" to 4" height or less than 3 to 4 pound density. I know they are a little bit more $pendy than the 2" or the 2 pound density-----but totally worth the extra dollars spent. My personal favorite is the 3" - 3 pound density BODIPEDIC because it comes with a terrific, (great fitting) cover that protects the foam. The SERTA 4" - 4 pound density is very nice too except that it does not include a cover but it does come with contour pillows, so if you prefer those type of pillows, that is a great buy too. Both are extremely comfortable & the reviews to years sold ratio is about the same on the Bodipedic & the Serta toppers.----( Hope this helps with your topper shopping! )

    • Comparison 3" and 4" Memory Foam Toppers

I used to wake up everyday with aches in my neck and lower back. I am only 30 but I felt like I was 90, all crotchety and stiff. I was involved in a serious car accident and have always needed 15 pillows to find comfort even when sitting up. I am exaggerating but you get the point. I always hurt. We had purchased a new pillow top mattress thinking that would help. It was quite firm and I did not want to deal with the hassle of finding another expensive failure. I resorted to these toppers. I purchased 2 of the Slumber Solutions Highloft Supreme Memory Foam toppers in the standard King size (one 3" and one 4"). I couldn't decide after reading the reviews so I bought both....If you are trying to decide between the 3" and the 4" Let me help you out. READ THIS. Both had a smell...nothing to run away from...just a little like fresh rubber and Pine-sol. Most of it went away by the 2nd day. Surprisingly the 4" was less smelly than the 3". Let me tell you - There is a HUGE difference between the softness/squishyness between the 3" and the 4" heights although everything else is the same (density, size, etc). The 3" provides cushion but nothing ultra plush. It provides extra comfort but you can still feel the hard bed through the bottom of the topper. The 4" is the ultimate in comfort. It is super thick and you CAN NOT feel the hard mattress underneath. I was able to put the 4" on the floor and not feel the floor. You could feel the floor through the 3". I never would have thought that 1" would make that much difference but IT DOES! It is unusual because the 4" is soooo soft but yet my back doesn't sink into a hole. I tried it with the fingers up and with the fingers down and I prefer them up. I feel like they are holding me up everywhere they touch my body -back of the neck, shoulder blades, lower back, even the back of my legs, hammys, and calves.. I didn't think I would like it. I have never been an egg crate kind of gal but this is different. I absolutely love to cuddle into my bed and rub my feet back and forth giving me a little massage right before I drift off into bliss. ...I guess this is what people mean by sleeping on air. I never understood them or what they meant when they said that. It is really nice. I seriously ask my husband every morning "How did we live without this?" He agrees. We have never had so much comfort out of an item that cost so little. I needed soft cushion with good support and the 4" is the answer. Both the 3" and the 4" are GREAT products and I would recommend both. We use the 3" king -cut into 2 twins- for my 3 year old son and also the guest bed. Both beds were hard as cement and it was actually nicer to sleep on the floor before. Topper sizing was perfect standard King makes 2 twins- just cut with sharp scissors. Now with the toppers they are quite comfy. My son no longer climbs out of his bed to sleep on the floor. My guest also commented that his bed was tremendously more comfortable too. He slept on the bed before the topper arrived and then after I placed it on the bed. NIGHT AND DAY DIFFERENCE> So, in conclusion, if you are trying to decide between the 3" and the 4" and you are looking for squishy, supportive comfort GO WITH THE 4". If you need to save a few dollars then go with the 3" but I can almost guarantee that you will wish you had spent the few extra dollars for the 4" right after you receive the 3”. Do yourself a favor and do it right the first time…BUY THE 4” TOPPER.

    • Love this topper!

Our mattress needs to be replaced and will be soon. Until then, I have been looking around for a nice topper that didn't break the bank. The price was so reasonable that I was skeptical about ordering at first. Am I glad that I did! I love this topper! Follow the directions, though. When you open it, do not force it open. I put it in a spare room to allow it to return back to the original shape by removing the plastic wrap carefully and gently opening it just partially. Just be sure to follow directions so you don't damage as it arrives very, very compact. After 48 hours, i put it on the bed and it fit my queen perfectly. I did go out and purchase a nice fitted sheet to fit a 16inch mattress since it adds 4inches and I didn't want it squished. Great purchase. Couldn't be happier and the price was a steal!

    • Great Topper

This is a really nice topper - very comfortable though it took some getting used to but memory foam is new to me. I really love it and have not found it to be too hot as some have commented. One word of caution....this thing is 4" tall! If you have a pillowtop mattress AND you add this topper you are going to have an issue keeping the fitted sheet on unless you have *really* deep pockets. This is the only problem I'm having at the moment. I will more than likely invest in a set of sheet suspenders to take care of the issue until I am able to purchase some extra deep sheets. (P.S. Regular Deep pockets are not deep enough with my pillow top). But overall, an excellent value for the money and it has completely solved the sagging "valleys" in my king size pillow top. LOVE THIS and would recommend!

    • Perfect Solution

I just got this topper for a guest bed that was ok but not great to sleep on instead of buying a new matress right now. I slept on it last night to test it out and must say it was AMAZING. It was so comfortable I am thinking about purchasing one for my high dollar bed that is starting to show signs of wearing down only after 3 years. I would highy reccomend this topper great value for the money looked around at several department stores in our area and got sticker shock and they were only 2 inch foam toppers.

      • I need a foam pad and this one is great. Unfortunately it wears out in about 6 mo. But it's inexpensive enough to replace. And it's worth it to me to sleep good.

      • Bought one for my king sized bed and love it so much wanted one for my guest room.

      • Purchased one for my sister recently and she is so pleased with the one that she has that I decided to order me one, as well.

      • I got it for my Mom, who's 89. We got a hospital bed for her, but the gel topper is heavy & tends to bunch up when the head of the bed is raised. It's like sleeping on a bunch of dowel rods! So I hope this will be better.

    • Where can I find the warranty info for this topper? We ordered it last year and it's been on the same bed, but is tearing in several spots just from daily use.

      • Hello sthomsen, this item has a 3 year limited warranty. If you need to make a warranty claim please contact our Customer Care department at 1-800-The-BIG-O (843-2446) for assistance. Thank you for shopping with us.

    • I currently have a slumber solutions 4in, 3LB high loft topper (sleep on flat side). I want to change to a 4in 3lb flat topper .will I notice a difference in the 2 when laying on it?

      • Hello tony74, the support offered by the additional inch of foam will likely be minimal, however, the you may notice a slight difference. Thank you for shopping with us.

    • One of the diagrams shows the mattress topper "upside down". I'm used to flat memory foam mattresses and I'm concerned about having it "cone side up" and that being uncomfortable. Has anyone used it "upside down"? Is it better or worse?

      • Hello shoppingwhilecool, the product picture was just taken with the mattress top both up facing and down. You can have it face either way. Thank you for shopping with us!

      • The best, most comfortable way is with the cones up!

      • Cones up, you don't notice them. It's foam, so it compresses..

      • Yes, I use mine upside down with the flat side facing was not nearly as comfortable cone side up as I have fibromyalgia...but love this topper. I bought two so we use one on guest bed which is a new mattress but too firm. I bought two Calif King toppers set them on the bed and used an electric knife to cut exactly to fit mattress as if you buy the size topper as your mattress it will not go edge to edge.

      • I also thought the cone side up looked uncomfortable. However I found it be extremely comfortable. It doesn't feel at all like the cones are poking out which is what I was concerned about.

      • It takes some getting used to. I highly recommend using a mattress cover if you use the mattress cone side up.

    • I have fibromyalgia, which is pain all over and I need a really soft touch on a mattress. That being said I was wondering if this is a really soft mattress pad and if I'm not happy with it, Can I send it back? And how much is shipping back to you on something like this? I keep almost buying this for the last 2 years only to find one locally and then taking it back because it's way too hard for me! Tempurpedic is the worst! We go up to a condo in the mountains every 3 months and the pain from laying on a too hard mattress sends me into a pain flare that lasts beyond the "vacation" and is no vacation at all! Please help me make a decision...We're going to the condo in 2 weeks (for our 36th anniversary) and I don't want to hurt! And how long does shipping take? I'm in Idaho!

      • I also deal with chronic pain so I understand the need to have a comfortable place to relax and sleep. This pad helped me a lot when I was sleeping on an uncomfortable mattress during the transition period when I first came to CA. It was soft yet supportive. It lasted about a year with nightly use. After a while it remained soft, but lost it's ability to support. I weigh no more than a hundred pounds, so I'm not sure how long it would last a more typical size person. Once I was settled I bought a natural latex mattress that I LOVE.

      • Hello gailtiede, we apologize for the delay in answering your question. We are still waiting to hear from our support team and will update as soon as we have this information.

      • I suffer from severe nerve pain and this mattress topper with cone side down has been a life saver. In fact, I bought a king size and cut it to properly fit our queen bed and made two super soft pillow for me. One for my head and one to put between my knees. Wonderful.

      • I'm not sure if they are CertiPUR certified or not. I threw away all packaging after I knew they would not be returned.

    • What is the ILD of this topper?

      • Thank you for contacting us lortonson. This is visco foam with a ILD rating of 10 and density rating of 2lbs. Please let us know if you have any further questions.

    • Is Memory Foam and polyurethane foam the same thing? This Item #12661391 states in the Product Details, 3rd point - Materials: 100-percent polyurethane foam Then the area above 'Features' is materials: 100% memory foam So, are they the same item?

      • No-this is a cheap alternative to memory goam

    • If I put a mattress pad cover over this and then a fitted sheet, will I have to worry about getting hot in the summer laying on this?

      • We've not experienced that at all.

      • No, I have not found that I have that problem

      • No. We have had no problem!

      • Have not experience that, very comfortable.

      • Yes, at times I find this pad a bit warmer than others I have used but certainly not a deterrent.

      • I haven't noticed. I put a quilted mattress cover on both beds that have this mattress topper. My husband and I love how comfortable it is and haven't noticed it causing us to feel overheated.

    • I'm feeling the springs in my 15 yr old queen-size firm mattress and there's a dip in the center; will this help? Any suggestions on queen sheet sets that would work well?

      • Yes. You might need ones with deeper pockets, but honestly, my old sheets work just fine with this toppper.

      • Perhaps. It's thick enough to help equalize the dip. I bought it to equalize a ridge made by two twins together to make a king. Regular sheets are working so far.

      • You sheets will be fine. But honeslty, sounds as if this egg crate will not help the dip n your mattress. You need another mattress for the support.

      • I found this pad to be a little too high for my deep pocket sheets. That being said, it was a very comfy pad for us and lasted a good 4 years before getting worn and eventually ripping. My husband is a restless sleeper and I know that had something to do with the shape of the pad. I think, though, that is you feel the springs in your mattress and the dip from where you sleep, this pad will not be enough for you. Sounds like it's time for a new mattress.

      • Won't help. This 4" compresses to about 1 inch when you lay on it. Bite the bullet and purchase new mattress, and add 1-2 inch solid topper (memory foam only) and you will be good for 15-20 years.

      • It won't help the dip in the mattress because it is the same depth end to end but comfort? Yes, indeed it will make enormous difference. As a suggestion. Cut a piece of foam size of the dip in the bed only and then place this topper over that if you cannot afford to replace your mattress. Really, Overstock, com has some incredible prices on mattresses. We bought a plush twin mattress for our granddaughter and two mattresses for our twin grandies from O and each was under $*** and really quite nice. The twins have been using their mattresses for 6 years and believe me I've sang them the song...NO MORE monkeys jumping on the bed but they still use their beds for trampolines.

    • Can a normal mattress pad be used over this topper?? Is it recommended for hygiene purposes? Thanks for any help you can send my way!

      • I believe a mattress pad would be fine but the thickness of your memory foam mattress may determine if your comfort is effected.

      • I have a normal mattress pad on top of this topper. You'll definitely want a deep pocket mattress pad as this topper is thick. Since you can't wash the topper, I would recommend using a pad on top that can be washed for hygiene purposes.

      • Use a pad it will cut down wear on the topper. Get one with extra depth will be fine.

      • I agree- a mattress pad will help protect the topper as you can not wash it.

      • Yes, and it really feels comfortable.

      • sure I would cover it with that or a old sheet

      • A deep pocket pad can be used

    • I want to buy this mattress now but it won't be used until 4 weeks later (Christmas present). Can I leave the topper inside the package until then? One tip said I should open the package within 72 hours upon arrival.

      • Yes! Leave it until 2-3 days before you want to use it. It has been sitting in the warehouse for longer! That way it is easy to handle. Once it is open it is not as easy to maneuver.

      • Yes you can. There will be no damage if you leave it in the package. Just take it out 2-3 days before you want it so it can reach its optimum shape. Once it has been opened, don't attempt to put it back in the package...won't work!

      • It takes a couple of days in the open air to fluff out. I couldn't believe how compressed it was shipped but after the air got to it it did fill out wonderfully. Leave it in the package but be aware you can't use it (smell from plastic and compression) for a couple of days after you open it.

      • Not really! Better to get a thiner foam and fold it in half to make the futon soft to sit on.
