I just have to say-after only 3 weeks sleeping on this topper-my back problems have been reduced, my sleep is SOOOOO much better(haven't slept all night long in almost 20 years). I opened the package and the new foam smell for me was basically not there-very faint and rather pleasant. Cover with the topper pad, clean sheets and you are "good to go"! The gel foam does what is advertised-no heat retention-and I did have hot flashes to handle at night too. If you are looking for the best deal in mattress toppers-this is so worth the money!

After purchasing this GEL topper from overstock.com, I was very impressed with the construction of the topper and as a result have had my sleep turnout for the past few weeks make this product very worth while. It was a fairly heavy package and getting out of the box requires some amnipulating if you are not a big person. Once I spread it on the bed, it did take about 24 hours to fully expand and settled to its claimed height from this website. After this happened I have no complaints since I own a king size bed and have plenty of space to spread my 6'6" frame out. It is very comfortable to sleep on with just the right amount of firmness and the perfect level of cushioning for my weight and any more pounds I may put on in the future. The topper did elevate my bed much higher than I had previously thought and this was for me a non-issue since I am so tall but will make it a challenge if others have small pets who enjoy jumping up and sleeping on there bed. They may not get up there so easily. Another wards it does make the bed noticeably taller for the smaller stature individual. The GEL technology definitely seems to be a bonus since the bed is generally cooler and the 1.5 inch topper cover that comes with it is a nice addition for the extra padding and cushioning too. So, all in all, worth the money from my perspective.

We got this because our pillow top went flat. The topper has helped with our back pain and is super comfortable. It is not too soft or too firm. I don't notice any increase in heat, but I would definitely get the cover; my husband does sweat and this stops the memory foam from absorbing it. It also does not cool the bed any. It tears easy; ours came with a few small tears where it had been folded. It is had to lift evenly so make sure you have about four people to place it up on your bed. The chemical smell went away after a week; we did let ours air out for over 24 hours before we placed it on our bed. It gave new life to an old mattress, and in my opinion has also helped with my husband snoring. We are both more comfortable and toss and turn less.

The topper is good if you're a soft bed lover. I bought it for my self and prefer a firm bed. If you enjoy a softer bed this product is good for you.

If you like your mattress really squishy, this one is for you. It weighed about one-third of my last foam mattress and, as you might expect, it was not nearly as dense. I suspect it will not last as long as my last one either. That said, the pricetag and the extremely cheap shipping cost from Overstock makes this worth the money. I will be using this in the spare bedroom.

I was unsure at first but after a few days I've fallen in love with this mattress topper. I think the extra thickness really helps on the 5.5 inch. The smell didn't bother me at all. I let it air out the morning I got it and slept on it the same night. The first couple days my back and actually bothered me a little. I think my body just needed to adjust. Now it feels great. I would recommend getting a thinner pillow though as your body will sink down into the mattress a lot. If your pillow is too thick it will really crank your neck while the rest of your body sinks down in. I find sleeping in just about any position ends up being comfortable. Didn't have any problems with being too hot. I live in southern California and we've been in the middle of a heat wave since I bought it. Haven't had any problems being too hot. Not sure what's going on with the people who have complained about that. It was a good buy... Although the cover has a certain amount of padding built into it that actually takes away some of the nice squishyness of the memory foam. I wish the cover was thinner. I prefer the topper without it.

I bought this mattress topper for our rv due to the fact that most rv mattresses leave alot to be desired...We slept on it for the first time this weekend and my husband and I were totally amazed with it...My husband, who is a over the road truck driver...and sleeps in a lot of varieties of hotel beds was amazed....He can sleep in any type of bed, luckily for him...but he mentioned even after two nights on this mattress topper about how much more rested he felt....Me myself I usually toss and turn all night on the mattress we have in the rv...and at home i sleep on my soft couch versus a pillow top mattress...due to the fact i have arthritis in my hips and knees...but this weekend was the first time i actually slept 7 hours without waking up! Well worth the money...and am thinking about purchasing one for our home.

I took it out myself and dragged it into the bedroom and pushed it up on the bed. I left the plastic on so it would be easier to move it into position. Once it started to move and unroll it went fast. When it settled I took the plastic out from under it. My only complaint is that this item is shown via a photo cut out so you can see the blue pad. I thought it came with the white mattress top. Lucky that I ordered a mattress topper!!! I can't wait to sleep on this. I can't wait for my husband to sleep on this. I got it for his bad back. I have a Tempurpedic about 10 years old. If he sleeps the whole night on it he is stiff and sore the next day. I pray that this is the answer. I took it out at 3pm and it is now just 4:30pm. The mattress does not smell and the pad is on. I can't wait for him to get home and see it!

I live in Korea where the mattresses are very hard. I have had a hard time sleeping. I toss and turn a lot at night. Since I bought this topper, I have slept great every night. I weigh about 160 lbs, and I do not sink all the way to the bottom. It's like laying on air. I no longer toss and turn, or wake up in the middle of the night. When the box arrived I was skeptical. The topper did not look like it could possibly reform it's shape from the picture on the website. About an hour after I unrolled it, the topper had regained it's original shape looking just like the picture. The included mattress pad fits perfectly and does not change the performance of the topper.

The topper is too soft. Unless you prefer this type of non stability when you sleep than this is the item for you. Make sure you are really wanting this topper because once it is opened it is nearly impossible to fit back into the original box due to the expansion of the foam. If you are wanting to experiment with it I suggest you seek other options, shipping is very expensive for such a large, heavy product.

Package came and I thought it was a joke at first. It was very hard to unwrap. It only took about 4 hours for it to fully expand. And the new smell was faint. Im very tall and this makes my already high bed perfect. My young kids complain that my bed is too high. Well recommended...awesome product. You need to get the deep pocket sheets to ensure it covers your mattress as well.

This mattress topper has made the bed a lot higher, which is something that is taking getting used to. It took some getting used to, but now we love it. I think I sleep a lot better. The gel topper is a lifesaver because the memory foam does put off more heat. We love it and would recommend to anyone.

I've been wanting a memory foam topper for a long time so I've done my research! I loved the fact that this one came with a very nice quality Mattress Topper that is very soft and fits perfectly over the topper and mattress! I've read reviews about the smell of the memory foam, well, I did NOT have that problem at all! They also recommend you let it expand for at least 1-2 days, again I didn't have a problem with that either, it was fully expanded to 4" within 1 hour! I was so excited that I didn't have to wait to put it on my bed! That night when we went to bed OMG it was sooo comfortable, within seconds your body settles into the foam and I really believe with the Gel Memory foam you do not feel hot at all, believe me I know since I'm going through menapause! I do NOT have any problems with this sliding to one side or another like some had said! Being that this is heavy I do recommend you put it on a blanket or whatever when first removing the plastic wrap because it is so much easier to carry and place on your mattres once fully expanded! It is much easier with 2 people also! If you're thinking about a Topper, do not hesitate on this one, it is so worth every penny!
