Does the cover have a zippered compartment for the memory foam?
I will tell you that is seems a bit more difficult to move around on. I do lots of repositioning as I fall asleep. That being said, I still love the cush this topper gives my bed....

This is very soft and helps revive my old mattress immensely... there is just one problem. I have a hard time sleeping when I'm hot so I chose this topper specifically because it claims it "absorbs pressure and channels heat away, preventing excessive heat build-up" Well, maybe some people wouldn't call this "excessive heat" but it sure is enough that I can't give it 5 stars. I've had to lower the thermostat a couple degrees and sleep with a lighter blanket... but once I did those things I've been sleeping much better. Maybe compared to most Memory Foam Toppers this one is less heat trapping, but I do wish they hadn't emphasized this particular issue.Read More
I am very happy that I purchased this item! It replaced a previous memory foam topper, and I was delighted to discover that it does exactly what it says in terms of "pulling" the excessive heat from your body while you sleep! I no longer wake up drenched in sweat, and my husband made the same comment! And he didn't even know it was supposed to do that! My only neutral comment is on the fiber mattress topper, its not exactly what I had "envisioned", so maybe if your looking to buy this the memory gel topper without the fiber mattress topper is a good solution. Im just not sure it adds any real value beyond being a mattress pad!Read More
We currently own a sleep number bed and could not find a comfortable adjustment for it. We went to the sleep number store and the rep wanted to sell us a $***+ 2.5" memory foam topper. We gracefully left the store and found this one. We figured why not give it a try, half the cost and almost twice the thickness. It was great. My wife who likes a really soft mattress was very happy, and I who likes a firmer but comfortable mattress was happy. It made our expensive uncomfortable mattress VERY comfortable. So much so that I softened my side and my wife firmed hers up a little and now we dont have such a big difference in mattress heights. As far as getting hot and the pad not breathing we had no problems at all. It was very comfortable temperature wise. Two notes to mention. Many people said that the mattress had a chemical smell and walked down the mattress. We had no smell at all, and I mean at all. We pulled it out of the package and let it sit for the rest of the day (6 hours) and then made the bed and went to sleep. They do say to leave it sit out for a day or so but we had seen no reason to wait. As far as walking down the mattress. We never had seen it happen to our bed at all. It stays in place pretty well. For what is it worth, this was worth every penny spent and then some. We could not have imaged how much of a difference it has made.Read More
Great buy for the money. Was thinking I needed a new mattress. This saved me at least $XXX dollars. Tried this 4.5 inch gel topper and it was perfect. The first few nights I was so comfortable I couldn't get out of bed. I weigh over 200 pounds so I decided on a little thicker topper than most. I'm glad I did. Delivery was quick and it was easy to get it out of package. Just follow the easy instructions. I'm sure you'll love it.Read More
I have a new gel foam memory mattress and love it, but its a bit too firm for me. I wanted a mattress topper but not one with those egg crate bumps. Found this one and worried about being hot, the smell, and so forth. It came vacuum packed and weighed a ton. dragged it to the bed, unwrapped it and let it unroll. it took less than a day to reach full size. (by the way the full size of 4inches includes the fluffy cover they pack in) it took a couple of days to air out and then I was good to go. 1. I would buy this again. 2. I recommended it a friend and she got one for her and the guest bed in her home. 3. before I replaced my old mattress I should have bought this instead of that pricey one. 4. overstock was great on communication thru email about where the item was and when to expect it. 5. simply cannot beat the price. it was much less than half of what others are selling it for.Read More
Like many of the other reviews I read, I was in desperate need of a new mattress. For the last year, I have experienced shoulder and hip pain. I was very excited to receive my new mattress topper and could hardly wait the suggested 24-hour "airing out" period. In fact, I only waited about 12 hours and was not bothered by the slight remaining chemical smell. While I was waiting, I laundered the fiber topper and it held up very well. I covered the memory foam with the topper and added my own waterproof mattress cover over that ,and sheets. I was relieved that my current sheets fit well over all the new products on my bed. I was impressed the very first night I slept on my "new" mattress. After the second night, my shoulder and hip pain went away. Over a month later, I am still impressed with this mattress topper and very happy that I purchased it.Read More
Instead of buying a new bed, I decided to try this mattress topper, and wow-what it difference it made! It's still rather a little too soft for me, but my husband LOVES it. The chemical smell is strong when you first open the package, but we waited 1 week before we actually slept on it. I would recommend.Read More

However, not all memory foam mattress toppers are the same. Here's how to choose one that will best suit your needs.

Best Mattresses for Every Sleeping Position
A mattress is one of the most important purchases you can make because you spend hours each day sleeping and rejuvenating for the next day. While shopping for a new mattress, keep in mind the typical sleeping positions you have to ensure you will find the right mattress to help with bone or joint alignment. Below, you'll learn the best mattresses for every sleeping position. Sleeping on your back: If you primarily sleep on your back, you need to find a mattress with support to prevent pain in the lower back. Sleeping on a mattress that does not have enough support causes muscle strain in the back and increases the chance you will assume a poor posture during sleep, leaving you achy in the morning. The best mattresses for this sleeping position have at least 400 to 800 14-gauge coils. Innerspring mattresses feature firm coils to support the back yet still mold to the curvature of the spine. Mattresses with box springs are ideal for those who sleep on their backs because they stabilize weight, offering back support and increasing the life of the bedding. Sleeping on your stomach: While sleeping on your stomach is comfortable, it also increases pressure and strain on parts of the body like the neck or back. Soft mattresses are the best for those who sleep on their stomachs. Look for mattresses that have 300 to 400 14-gauge coils, which will ensure the mattress is soft and comfortable. If you must use a pillow, look into buying a memory foam style, which molds to the head and neck to stabilize them during sleep. Sleeping on your side: Side sleeping is one of the most common positions on a mattress, and it may also be one of the hardest positions to shop for. Since you lay on your side, there is pressure on the shoulders and hips, which could make a firm mattress uncomfortable for sleeping. A mattress that is too soft is often not supportive enough to keep the spine in proper alignment. The ideal mattress for this position is one that has supportive coils, with a memory foam topper to provide comfort to the joints of the body.
