The overall quality & construction of this comforter is good. However, it is not filled to nearly the 650 fill power stated in the description. I would rate this as a 3 season comforter only. Unfortunately, I find it only too common for Overstock.com to overrate its products. The quilt is average. The value for price paid also is only average. I advise you to check locally before ordering.
It is a nice and luxurious comforter. The silk/cotton cover makes the comforter very beautiful and feels good. I don’t even want to use a duvet cover. The white goose down keeps me very warm. After I put it on the bed for one day, the comforter fluffed up by itself, looks much fully than it came out of the package! I’m very satisfied with this purchase, will buy another one to give my daughter as a wedding gift!
LOVE this down comforter. When we first received this comforter it definitely needed some time to fluff up. It actually took a while longer than what overstock suggests, it really fluffed to full potential after a few days of being out of the bag, but once it did it became so fluffy and cozy. Definitely the best down comforter for the money. We had previously tried to save some money and ordered a "Luxurious" down comforter from Amazon.com for $139.00 and when we received it we were so disappointed, the fabric was crunchy and felt like paper, we immediately returned it and decided we should spend just a little extra money for a nice one. The fabric for this comforter is super silky and soft, its just a really, really great down comforter. Would purchase again.
This is a warm comforter and might have been acceptable to me in many respects other than it was way too silky. I had presumed that a cotton silk blend would be more cotton than silk. Not so. Since I do not use a duvet, the silk did not feel comfortable against bare skin so this just did not work for me.
This comforter seemed really soft and really nice. I knew there would be an odor since it was coming out of a plastic case, and I ordered a comforter from Overstock before (which I liked more than anything from a department store). However, this one really had a problem. I put this on 2 clothing drying racks for a week with fans aimed at it in front of open windows - and the smell didn't dissipate whatsoever. It actually spread around my room when I closed the windows at night. I smelled the inside of the case, and it had a light plastic smell. However, when I smelled the comforter, it had a strong burnt plastic (or chemical) smell...still present 1 week after opening...and not dissipated at all. There was really no way to sleep with this. It actually made me feel a little sick. I had to return it. I couldn't even have it in here because the odor emanated from the comforter and made my entire room smell really bad. I would have loved to keep it otherwise.
Replaced an inexpensive one we had been using for years. This is like SLEEPING IN A CLOUD! love love love it. It is not heavy nor hot, but I stay plenty warm if the room is cold. The old one made crinkly sounds and feathers routinely escaped (but it was cheap!). I finally spent the money on a quality down comforter, and I wish I had not waited so long! This ones doesn't make a sound, and no feathers have worked their way out!
After shopping for a new comforter at a much higher price point I found this one on Overstock and decided to take a chance. I was pleasantly surprised when I open the package. The comforter exceeded my expectations. It's silky, well-made, very warm and priced way below other comforters of similar value and style.
