These are the classic old fashioned, cotton percale sheets. Percale is meant to be crisp and has more body than sateen. If you're looking for something soft, then these are probably not for you. Percale does soften some with repeated washing, and will last awhile if fabric softener is used sparingly, and even longer if line dried. Line drying also reduces wrinkles with percale, unlike most other things. Don't spin them too dry; wash them on permanent press cycle or even delicate to avoid this. Give them a few shakes and hang out. They'll smell fresher and you'll save energy. Some of the stiffness will go away as they dry. Iron, if you feel like it. I sometimes iron them for the guest bed after spraying with lavender water, and occasionally even for ourselves, when I'm not too busy.;) It's not difficult if folded properly, and our guest bed is king size. I only do along the top 12-16 inches of the flat sheet, [the part that shows when the sheets are folded down] and the fitted sheet stretches enough, it's not needed. Pillowcases are just fun, a no-brainer. These are classic cotton percale, like your classic oxford shirt. If you don't want wrinkles, they'll need ironing. If you're looking for soft, silky sheets, then you want sateen, not percale. [or silk!] If you just want easy care and comfort is secondary, then go for a blend, like poly-cotton. If you want only good looks and something that'll make you sweat, then try microfiber. [!] Learn the difference between different kinds of sheets and you will not be as likely to be disappointed.

These are wonderful, just perfect for summer. Nice and light, cool and beautiful color They are on my bed right now :) You definitely have to wash them as they smell like the plastic zipper bag they come in.

Disappointed in the quality especially after the first washing when all the cotton appeared in the dryer lint basket...I would have returned them but I had ordered them for our MH so I guess they will be okay. I would not recommend them - spend more and get a better quality. I ordered blue and they look like light grey.

Love them. Saw similar sets on a much more expensive site and am very pleased. Nice and big so they actually fit the bed.

When these sheets arrived I expected them to be of good quality as I had checked out the Laura Ashley 100% cottons at the brick and mortar stores first. I washed them immediately and was delighted to find they did NOT wrinkle up as much as most 100% cotton sheets. They are very soft, very, and are a nice alternative for those of us who can not justify investing $200 and up for Egyptian cotton sheets. I bought the paisley pattern and the one with small blue and yellow flowers on a white background. If you love the soft luxurious feel of real cotton sheets without the thin, cheap, look, these are for you. If you prefer the crisp, percale, completely wrinkle free type, these are not your type.

I live these sheets. It they are smooth without that sateen look. Hate Sateen. I'll order more of these.

This is the 10th set of sheets I've ordered here in search of super soft sheets for my sensitive skin that ALSO has ultra deep 21 inch plus pockets. This set is AWESOME. Love the charcoal and will be ordering more. Sateen and PIMA cotton seems to be the recipe for ultra soft. Nice bonus is the sheets look freshly ironed even after washing. The Percale sheets we got were nice, but they wrinkled so bad I could actually feel the wrinkles when I got into bed. My sensitive skin feels everything and the wrong sheets can make it really hard for me to fall asleep...These sheets are a dream come true. I don't often write reviews but just had to for these.

I love the pattern, but the description said percale 60/40 and the only notation on the actual sheets is cotton rich. The underside of the sheets is very weird, like a webbed thread look and it catches on everything, so we had to flip the top sheet over. They do work that way and are soft, but I would not buy them again with the wrong side of the sheet woven like this.

If your looking for deep pocketed percale cotton sheets that are cool, crisp and of coarse texture these are it! Perfect for those warm nights and remind me of the percale sheets when i was a kid. They are deep pocketed and fit a deep style mattress... If you want wrinkle free, high thread count, no iron, microfiber or sateen style sheets and love being baked in bed these are not the ticket. I intend to buy more of these for the warm nights in AZ. Thanks for carrying them overstock!

These sheets feel so good to sleep in, I think I said it every night that we have slept in our bed with these sheets on that "these sheets feel fantastic" they really do, but, they are a bit too long towards the bottom, so I am going to measure it to specs for our bed then cut off the excess than make something else out of it !

These have a fine twill weave and are lighter weight in comparison to another Bamboo set I ordered elsewhere. They are fluid and soft and light. I am a sheet snob and was sleeping on fine cotton percale which is getting difficult to find and ultra expensive. I don't like the popular sateen sheets because they snag easily on dry skin and ball up. These rayon from bamboo sheets stay tucked in and don't slither off the bed. I plan to buy another set. I thought I would miss my cool crisp fine cotton percale but I like these even better. So far, no pilling after several washings. Cool to sleep on. No complaints except I wish they were less expensive! Hopefully with the popularity of rayon sheets growing, the prices will drop. I wash them in cold water and usually line dry. I live in the desert so am lucky to be able to do that year round. However, they have been through the dry cycle on low temperature without issues. I highly recommend!

I absolutely love these sheets!! So smooth and silky! Wash N' Wear is my motto! I have had sheets with 600 to 800 thread count Egyption cotton that came out of the dryer so terribly wrinkled!! These percale sheets are a third the price, and so much nicer!

nice color but again the heavy feel of sailcloth not nice cotton or percale. I hate the way they put the heavy elastic band around it and pieced the corners . they wrinkle badly too. not for me .

These were the crisp cotton sheets I had been searching for! When I say crisp, I do not mean they are stiff, these are smooth, yet crisp soft cotton. Well worth the money. I hate sheets that feel like cotton jersey/micro fiber. Yes they wrinkle- they are 100% cotton- fold them right away. They're light weight, but not cheap feeling. My only complaint is that they don't come in any darker colors!

OK, they are not as well made as some of the more expensive sheets I have, and a little on the thin side, but...Having said that, they are really, really pretty. They also are so generously sized, the top sheet was a surprising 116 inches long!! My mattress is only 14 inches deep, so the topsheet was almost too big, but I love, love having the top sheet tuck in so far, and if you have a really thick mattress, I'm sure you would really appreciate the extra fabric in these sheets. They are nice percale, crisp and smooth. The pillowcases are also sized for a queen sized pillow and have an extra tuck in flap, if you should need it for a larger size pillow. So, I only gave them a 4 because they are not as well made as some, but if I had known any better I would have given them a 5. They really are a great buy for the money and really classy with the embroidery.

I've had jersey sheets before, a set from West Elm. IF THE QUALITY OF THE COTTON IS DECENT, they should be softer and stretchier than cotton percale. I liked my jersey sheets; unfortunately, my Jack Russell clawed up the fitted sheet burrowing. I still use the rest of the set, because jersey is warmer than percale, and is a nice alternative to flannel, which I can't stand. I find flannel to be heavy to have a tendency to pill, regardless of the quality. I use the West Elm jersey top sheet as a light blanket in the summer! Summary: good jersey sheets are soft and warm and will last a long time unless you have a set of claws in your house :) So, given my experience and stringent requirements, I can assure you that these Ink plus Ivy sheets are a great value for the money. I got a twin pair for my my sons-one gray and one blue-both soft heather-type colors. I may get a set (full) in natural for myself! They will keep me warm and soft in a nice cocoon during the endless gray, wet and chill of a Seattle winter.

These sheets are excellent quality. Very high quality material. They are as soft as silk and wonderful to sleep on. These sheets make percale sheets sold at the big box stores feel like sandpaper!!! If you have never slept on high quality high thread count Egyptian Cotton sheets, you do not know what you are missing. I highly recommend these sheets!!! These sheets are amazing!!!

I bought a set of these sheets 3 years ago and another set this winter - I absolutely love them. They are good for both winter and summer - unlike Percale, they aren't cool when you first get into bed so they're great for winter, yet they aren't too warm feeling for summertime use. Unlike flannel, they don't pill, so I found them to be a great all-year sheet. Yes they do have wrinkles as noted in other reviews but I just keep fluffing them out and pulling them tight around the mattress when I make the bed. I have tried very expensive sheets of sateen, percale, egyptian cotton, portuguese flannel and others and have yet to find a sheet as good as this one for all-around use. My 3-year old sheets have not pilled and the new ones I bought are just as good - unless the wrinkling in the bed is an issue, I highly recommend this product.

I am another shocked and disappointed percale sheet lover from thenot too distant past. I so miss the cotton poly percale in beautiful prints and ruffled and now mine are almost all gone. I find sateen and do by striped perfectly hideous. It hardly seems fair we should have such a dearth of these when there is such a demand. What happened to Fieldcrest and all the other sellers of great sheets? There seems to be such a market. Anyway these sheets are crisp and smooth, though wrinkly right out of the dryer because there is no poly in them but still are quite close to what I'm looking for, they will soften over time and I love the feel of these sheets. A great buy
The shape of sheets varies little; a sheet is always a large rectangle or square. However, sheet materials vary widely. Sheet materials like cotton and flannel are widely known, but there are probably some fabrics you don't think of as being material for sheets. Keep reading to find out more about the different kinds of materials that sheets are made from.
Percale, a type of broadcloth, is known for the tight manner in which it is woven, instead of its fiber content. Percale sheets are elegant, smooth and soft. If you're looking for new bedding, look at the percale sheets fact sheet below.

The thread count of bed sheets refers to the number of threads per square inch of fabric. For example, if a square inch of fabric in a 300-thread count sheet with a standard weave were examined closely, 150 vertical threads and 150 horizontal threads would be counted, for a sum total of 300. The higher the thread count, the softer and smoother the sheets will be. Thread count is an important consideration to take when choosing a new set of sheets, but it should not be used as a sole indicator of quality. Equally important in choosing a bed sheet is the type and quality of the materials used as well as the fabric's weave.
Cotton sheets are the natural choice for those who want a low-maintenance, breathable fabric that wicks away moisture from the skin. Natural cotton sheets are less prone to staining than cotton-synthetic blends and release dirt easily in the wash. While all 100-percent cotton sheets offer similar benefits, some simply feel better against the skin and may have a longer life in your linen closet. Take a look below to learn how to buy cotton sheets.
