I got the topper because my new mattress was too firm. The topper has made it so much more comfortable. It is soft yet not too soft. I can sleep comfortably on my side or back.

This mattress topper is wonderful. Except for the odor (which is gone after a few days) and being slightly smaller than my queen size mattress (no biggie), the topper has allowed me to forestall buying new mattresses for a while. In tight economic times, that helps. Be aware that your bedspread may not go to the floor anymore since the topper raises the level of the mattress.

Extremely comfortable. Well worth the purchase. Only issue is the original smell (which does fade with time). Be prepared to let the topper air out for several days to a week before sleeping on it. Best to buy in seasons other than winter to air out with windows open

It is hard to unrolle it but after that it works well.

Comes tightly wrapped but once it is unwrapped, it plumps up quickly. Smell didn't last long at all and my daughter slept on it that night..

Based on the other review, I selected this product for my Queen size bed. I did as instructed, let it aired out and let it rest for a day. I then cut it to size (very smart idea) and had a great night sleep. I saw a major difference after 3 nights. No more back pain in the morning. I was concerned it could be hot, and it is not. This was a serious concern since I am in my 50s... I love it, and my dog loves it since he now prefer my bed. I strongly recommend this product, it is worth every penny it had to pay.

My husband and I purchased a very good name brand mattress set for our new bedroom set 7years ago. I am in my early 60's and have a touch of arthritis but still work out and swim but my lower back aches. After reading the reviewes on this memory foam topper, I just purchsed it and after three nights my back feels great. No aches getting up or turning over, It's great. I also bought a new mattress pad from overstock and both are helping us sleep better. I was afraid it would be too hot but it isn't. We are in the south and a light blanket feels great. Bought this to put on top of my too firm a mattress. Had to air it out a couple of days. The odor was strong. Besides that, all I can say is I have no issues with this topper and wished I had bought it sooner. No more achy back and tossing and turning all night. I didn't find the topper making it too warm to sleep on. Not sure what that complaint is about. As far as longevity goes, the jury is still out. We will just have to wait and see.

Like most of the other reviewers, the smell is horrible right out of the box! I did air it out for several days & then I could sleep on it. My mattress is only 5 years old, but I was having lower back pains upon rising in the morning. After my first night, I was able to get out of bed in the morning without any pain! I do not find it hot to sleep on, but I do have a Serta cotton mattress cover over it. I would think if I just put the sheets over it, that might make it hot & retain my body heat. I highly recommend this!

This mattress pad is very confortable and I believe as it gets older that it will become even more comfortable than it is now. I am getting a good night sleep at last.

I never do these reviews, but thought I had to do it. I always liked my mattress, but someone recommended a foam topper--so, I decided to give it a try. This is truly the best thing I have done. I spend a third of my life in bed (8 hours/night)--and, I just made such a drastic improvement in my quality of sleep. Thanks Serta--you make an outstaning product!

I bought this for me. I hate our mattress but my husband could've cared less. I was pretty sure I wanted a memory foam mattress in the future, but didn't want to pay the price for one and find I didn't like it. I figured trying a topper first would be a good trial run. I opened it, put it on the bed, let it air out and fluff up. We slept on it that night. Guess who LOVED it? My husband. We find the topper far more comfortable than any mattress we've (together or independently) ever owned and plan on buying a full mattress of this material in the future. Neither of us find it too hot and are comfy all night long. I can sleep on my stomach for the first time in years!! The chemical smell from ours only lasted for a few days and was mild to non existant most of the time. I wouldn't trade it for anything other than a full mattress version!!!

I've purchased (and used for over a month) two of these, a King for myself, and a Queen for my mother. Both arrived promptly, did not have significant odor, had a proper fit. They make the sleeping experience just that much more wonderful. My mother wanted to know whether she could use her mattress warming pad with the foam topper. I contacted Serta via the email provided with the topper, they wrote me back promptly, gave me two possible manufacturer's to contact. I called and immediately got very pleasant assistance and response.

I bought this topper as a last attempt to save the world's most uncomfortable mattress. I'm not quite ready to buy a new mattress and needed something to hold me over for another few months. This was definitely one of the best purchases I have ever made. I've told all of my co-workers to go out an buy one. It did have a bit of paint/plastic odor when I first got it, so I let it air out for a full 24 hours before putting it on the bed. I used it for the first time last night and I had the best night's sleep I have ever had. It saved my mattress and my back.

Very nice touch to the pad. I ordered the king because of comments from others--had to cut about 8" off to fit the top of the queen bed--not as beautiful, but have extra to make some small pillows. Didn't notice any odor after I unrolled it. Some people had reviewed that the "holes" were too large in the memory foam--couldn't see any and I didn't feel warm sleeping on the memory foam. Made the hard mattress comfy! Great service and shipped very quickly.

After having a regular foam topper, the "cool" topper was much firmer and I needed the electric blanker all winter to feel warm enough. I was never warm enough. We never had any problems with our old non-cool topper. My biggest complaint is I never felt comfortable with this topper---my lower back aches frequently, or I feel pressure points on various us areas all the time.

'Very comfortable, didn't take long for it to open up, just unwrap and let it unwrap itself. I didn't feel it had a strong smell at all. My guests love it as I put it on a futon in my guest room. Makes the futon very comfortable.

Very good fit, comfortable, no problems with unrolling,the only thing that would have been nice is to have a cover on it.

Great!! I'm getting one for for my guest room and one for each of my children. Comfort zone!!!
