If you're thinking about buying this duvet cover and shams, don't buy one, buy two. I bought one and three of the matching sheet sets and I do not regret it in the least. In fact, I'm considering buying other colors. I love it!! The duvet has buttons underneath near the bottom, instead of at the end and the shams have the same feature but no buttons. 100% cotton always wrinkles a little, that's the beauty of it so don't over fill your dryer and you won't have any problems. Slept on the set after only ONE washing without fabric softener and didn't want to get out of bed. Superior quality, excellent construction. I was so impressed when I got them that I wrote this review to share.
I looked high and low for elegant, crisp, white sheets vs. the sloppy, soft sheets you find everywhere. They do wrinkle, but so what - I just iron the ends. I love the cool feel against my skin. I already have 3 sets of the matching sheets in the taupe and white. I decided to order the matching duvet for a guest room. They look rich and elegant and the price is unbelieveable for the quality you get.
Good set that came quickly. Doesn't shrink or get overly wrinkled in the wash...which is a plus! Good quality except a flaw in one of the pillow cases- the stitching had a slug in it......hoping it will not be a big deal. Overall a great set for the money- soft, but retains shape.
I'm happy with my purchase of both the King duvet and sheet set in Rose. The sheets will wrinkle as they are cotton percale and so I did not expect them to be wrinkle free. They are cool and comfortable, look great on my bed, and I'd like to purchase a second set. This set is much like the old Wamsutta scalloped sheets that were sold many, many years ago. Those sheets were beautiful cotton and did not have the resins to make them wrinkle free. There was nothing cooler on a hot summer night. Although those Wamsutta sheets are no longer available, these sheets look the same, but are a bit thinner. For the price, I think this is a great purchase.
- How did the color on site compare with the actual product? I ordered the Rose. It's a soft pale pink. The color is a bit paler than I expected but works well in my bedroom.
- Please tell us about the quality of the product. So far, the quality is excellent and I have no complaints.
- How accurate was the on site description of the product? Great!
I echo the previous reviews -- if you are looking for those crisp but not scratchy linens that you remember from your Grandmother's house then these are for you. The embroidery is much nicer than I was expecting. Flat and smooth stitching. I ordered the taupe which is the perfect color. It's not too brassy gold or too yellow -- a nice soft gold that is the perfect match for my XXXX XXXXXXXXXXX ecru bedskirt. Other reviewers are correct -- there is a chemical smell right out of the packaging, but I washed once on warm and dried on low heat and that eliminated any odor. (I think the smell is actually from the plastic packaging, not embedded in the fabric itself). They are not wrinkle free, but do iron beautifully - a couple of passes with the iron and they smooth right out unlike my sheets from Frontgate. They are a bit on the thin side, but I actually prefer that over my Sferra 800 thread count sheets that are so thick I feel as though I have upholstery fabric on my bed! Also, they dry very quickly, even on low heat. All in all, I am really, really pleased with the quality of these duvet and shams for the price. For $XX, I can afford to send them out to the laundry to have them professionally pressed if I don't feel like ironing them myself.
I wanted a white on white tonal bedding set and found exactly what I was looking for on overstock. I was worried for the price the quality would be less than I wanted but thought I would give it a shot. I was VERY please when the set came. It is beautiful.
