Memory Foam Spinal Back Pillow
from Littleton, CO,  Aug 11, 2011

The Memory Foam Pillow was a wonderful support for the first two weeks. Then I noticed it getting flatter as the days past. After 3 weeks it had no contouring at all. It remains flat! Very disappointed.

  • How did the color on site compare with the actual product? The Foal Pillow was the same color.
  • Please tell us about the quality of the product. The Foam Pillow did not hold it's form more than two weeks.
  • How accurate was the on site description of the product? The description of the Foam Pillow was accurate.

Memory Foam Pillow
from Winnipeg, Manitoba,  Jan 28, 2010

If this is a memory form pillow....... it doesn't know it. Have only used it for three days and already it is not goinig back to its original form after usage. Way too much money for something I could have gotten by using one of my own pillows. So much for lumbar support.

This is NOT a 4lb density foam pillow and falsely represented.. It has the density/consistency of a jumbo marsmallow at best. There is absolutely no support whatsoever. I have a 4 lb density foam mattress topper to use as comparison, and this doesn't even come close. No exaggeration when I say it has ZERO support. I would compare the support to laying on cotton balls. A rolled up bath towel or bubble wrap would provide more support and cost much less. I'm 5'2" and recovering from spinal fusion. If I attempted to use this for spinal support, I would probably have to go in for another surgery due to the damage caused by this so-called lumbar pillow. It has no height to it whatsoever. NONE! NADA. Flat as a pancake, no, a piece of paper. I laid on it unopened (in the plastic it is wrapped in when delivered) and it compressed completely flat to where I could feel the hard floor beneath it. No joke. I then folded it in half to see if that would provide the slightest amount of height and support and it still compressed completely flat, not to mention the fact that you should't be ABLE to fold it in half to begin with. Overstock quality control was apparently off work the day this pillow was tested, if tested at all, or they just don't care whether the product is represented correctly. Don't do what I did, ignoring the multiple POOR reviews like I did, convinced by the 5 star reviews (and the claim the density is 4 pounds, which, again, it is not) that it was represented honestly. Overstock shouldn't even sell iI. I can't emphasize enough, this lumbar pillow is a complete overpriced waste of money. DO NOT BUY IT!!!!! Your loss (like mine) if you do.

Not ideal for back
from Ellensburg, WA,  Oct 14, 2009

I bought this pillow in hopes it would relieve some of my lower back pain. What I found was that it was too big for me. I am short in height and have a really short torso. So, the pillow felt like I was being bent over backwards over it. Very uncomfortable. But, I did try putting it under my knees, and that worked a lot better for me. My back felt better that way. So, in short...uncomfortable under the back, but, more comfortable when put under the knees. And, it didn't seem like very high quality as far as memory foam goes...was more like just plain old foam.

Great for back-sleepers
from Southern California,  Oct 14, 2009

I'm a side-sleeper. I ordered this pillow because my mattress sinks a bit in the middle. I was hoping that it would help keep my spine straighter by combining my mid-section with my hip area, to distribute the weight more evenly. I tried this for 3 or 4 nights and realized that my waist area isn't quite small enough to make this feasible and instead of making the spine straighter, I think it overcompensated and caused it to be uneven in the other direction. As does about 80% of the population, I have problems with my back. When the pain gets really bad I spend the first 30 - 45 minutes in bed on my back with a neck roll. It's always a struggle to get my knees up properly to reduce the strain on my lower back. This pillow relieves that strain, and does it very well.If you're a back sleeper, this pillow is going to be the answer to your dreams.

Spine back pillow
from Aurora, WI,  Jun 10, 2009

This pillow is great for anyone who has a hard time sleeping due to lower back pain. It gives a great deal of support to the lower back. Since I found this back pillow, I've finally been able to get a good night's sleep. I highly recommend this product.
