I ordered the white on white and am very pleased with this purchase. It is on the thin side BUT with white pillows and a white comforter it is just fine. I haven't washed it as yet, but it fit the wool comforter I purchased on Overstock perfectly. There is something about the look of white linens and a white duvet that makes climbing into bed a wonderful experience. Everything so fresh and clean...aaaaaaahhhhh!
I bought this duvet set for my daughters bed for Christmas. It looks terrific on the bed, nice and crisp and clean, however the material is so thin after only 6weeks I started noticing small tears that gradually got bigger. I would not recommend this set to anyone. Do yourself a favor and upgrade to a nicer fabric and thread count.
I have been searching for something to give me the Matouk look without the cost. I'm simply not ready for that investment with 2 babies. The blue is a beautiful blue; not too light/baby blue. The scallop detail is gorgeous with thick threading. They certainly did not skimp on the number of loops.
Great cotton. Nice and crisp, just like your grandmother's sheets back in the day. None of that gross "wrinkle free" cotton, that make sheets hot, and does who knows what to the environment. Just be aware there are no corner ties to fascilitate attaching the duvet. Not an insurmountable problem given the price.
Not a thick lush duvet but pretty and light weight - as other reviewers commented on. Using it in guess room so it will not get heavy use, however if I were to put on my own bed for nightly use, I may have returned for a heavier quality cotton.
Purchased the rose duvet cover and was extremely and pleasantly surprised! The rose color is a beautiful pale pink. I was concerned that the t rose would be more red than pink) but it is truly a beautiful satin shade of pastel pink. It looks like it would belong in a 5 star hotel. I have not washed it yet, but I can say it is ready to be used (no chemical smell or anything). If you love scallop embroidery like I do and wish to have a high thread count cool crisp sheets this is for you.
I have had these sheets for several months now and love them. Other reviews really influence my choices, and these have gotten rave reviews. They are so comfortable! And no pilling, which I can't stand. So many people mentioned how these reminded them of their grandmothers' sheets. I know what they mean. Wish they came in twin - I'm trying to buy some for my 90 year old mom - she would love them.
Purchased this set to update our guest room so that the bed looked crisp, fresh, plush and inviting, especially when I added another layer of cable knit. The duvet set is see through thin, wrinkly, limp, again it's "extremely" thin and doesn't look at all like presented in Overstocks photo's or description. I then washed the set hoping it would help based on other reviews (e.g. 'just put in dryer and wrinkles come out' that's not true - I'm now ironing sheets, duvet & pillows); unfortunately I've washed it and now can't return it. Wasted hard earned money and for first time ever, Overstock.com greatly disappoints.
I was a little apprehensive over ordering this but it is a great bargain. It holds my comforter without it sliding around. It looks crisp even after it gets wrinkled from sitting on it. Wrinkles disappear after a while. So glad I bought this.
I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the duvet and shams. Yes, they did come out of the dryer somewhat wrinkled, but after use most of the wrinkles came out. I like the way the ends of both the shams and duvet envelop the pillows and comforter allowing complete coverage.
Every two years I am in need of a new white duvet cover. And in years past I have purchased Restoration Hardware's Italian white linens which range in price from $200-$300. Needless to say, I couldn't keep up that habit. So when I found the scallop embroidered at such a great price, I took a look but was cautious. Upon arrival, I couldn't have been happier. Soft cotton, true, crisp white and the beautiful, simple embroidery adds the subtle elegant touch I always want. Bye Bye Restoration Hardware, I know where I'll be shopping from now on.
I'm using this as my summer duvet cover, which means, in the summer I don't use a top sheet; I take the duvet cover off each week and wash it with the sheets. I would have given it 5 stars if it didn't wrinkle so much. Other reviewers have stated that the wrinkles smooth out after putting it on the bed warm from the dryer and/or spraying with a linen spray, I do both. Since in summer the bed looks more casual, the wrinklyness isn't that much of a problem for me. If I was to use it in the winter it would need to go to the cleaners to be pressed but I'd use it with a top sheet, so it wouldn't be washed every week. It isn't as wide as my more expensive winter duvet cover from Ballard Designs which on my very thick mattress hangs down far enough to cover mattress and box springs. For my summer look I like some of the patterned bottom sheet and box springs cover showing, so once again this isn't a problem for me, just adding this comment for others that might want one that's wider for a king mattress set. The duvet cover is very pretty and soft; cool and crisp, perfect with my fluffy summer weight down comforter. Feels like sleeping under a cloud, very comfy.
