Please believe the bad reviews! I know I should have. I must have received some defective sheets because I don't know how these got any good reviews at all. I ordered these in Ivory. They came in a pale green color but I kept them anyways because they felt soft at first. I washed them & slept in them the same night & it was horrible! They are so scratchy & uncomfortable. I washed them a few more times & used everything I could to make them softer (extra fabric softener, vinegar, baking soda, etc). They have softened up alot but I am still disappointed in them & how much work it took to get them where they are now. I'm still not 100% satisfied but what can I do, I should have returned them as soon as I saw that they were green & not ivory. Also the green has since faded away. They are lacking that sateen feel for sure. Yes the extra pillow cases are nice & the sheets fit perfectly on a pillow top mattress, but these sheets are definitely not worth the $$!Read More
I washed these sheets thinking they would soften up, but they were as scratchy and UN-soft as when I opened the package. It's costing me $**** to ship them back, ugh! If you want soft sheets, skip these. If you want stiff and scratchy, you've found the perfect product!Read More
I love these sheets! They're the perfect blend of crisp and soft, and are roomy enough to fit over my thick mattress with 3" memory foam topper. Best of all, I don't have to struggle to get the pillow cases on the pillows. I love the extra set of pillow cases too; I've always put two sets on to help protect my pillows. I plan to buy a set for my guest bed.Read More
Overall, I'm very happy w/ this purchase. Only tips are that they are extremely wrinkled when out of the dryer and the color is more of a grayish/steely purple than a light lavendar as I was expecting. I'm still comparing prices and you can't beat getting king sized sheets w/ 4 pillowcases anywhere! Also, everything we ordered arrived w/in a few days, which was a great bonus since our new bed was coming and we didn't have anything for it. Love Overstock!!Read More
This is an excellent sheet set! I ordered the full sized set and they fit well on my pillow top mattress without coming off constantly. They are super soft, and durably made. Highly recommend.Read More
I have a tendency to shred my bottom sheets because I have such rough feet. I got these because I figured they would last better. What I did not know was how very comfortable they were going to be. I like them so much that I actually iron them to maximize the lovely feel. If you don't iron them, you need to pull them from the dryer before they have a chance to wrinkle badly as wrinkles make them much less comfortable. But I highly recommend them.Read More
The sheets are good. They are soft and smooth. The color is a bit darker than I was expecting (Sage), but overall they are great.Read More
Beautiful, strong, almost glossy-looking sheets. Some reviewers referred to a "green" color. It is possible that the ivory color has a hint of green, but nothing obvious at all. They look just lovely and feel luxurious.Read More
These sheets are great! so soft and luxurious. They have that sateen shine to them which really looks great with the sage green color. The extra pillowcases for the price are a great deal. I haven't washed them yet so I can't speak to the durability but I'll be sure to repost if anything comes up.Read More

FAQs about Sateen Sheets
Sateen sheets are high-quality sheets woven in the same way as traditional satin. Unlike satin, sateen sheets are made with more common fibers, such as cotton. Sateen sheets are soft to the touch and allow skin to slide smoothly into bed. Sateen sheets are available in very high thread counts, and as such, are quite durable. Take a look below for some of the most frequently asked questions about sateen sheets.
Bed Sheet Thread Count Fact Sheet
The thread count of bed sheets refers to the number of threads per square inch of fabric. For example, if a square inch of fabric in a 300-thread count sheet with a standard weave were examined closely, 150 vertical threads and 150 horizontal threads would be counted, for a sum total of 300. The higher the thread count, the softer and smoother the sheets will be. Thread count is an important consideration to take when choosing a new set of sheets, but it should not be used as a sole indicator of quality. Equally important in choosing a bed sheet is the type and quality of the materials used as well as the fabric's weave.
