Guests use these blankets while sleeping downstairs where it can be chilly at night. This was our first experience with a warming/electric blanket. The blankets are soft, lightweight and easy to operate. The blankets did not actually feel warm to the touch, but did keep them warm at night.One disappointment was that the WARRANTY IS NO LONGER HONORED because the company providing the warranty for Royal Velvet went out of business. I called the warranty company with a question on blanket care and got the dreaded recording. That would have been nice to know before the purchase, but that explains the lower price.Overall, we are happy with our first weeks of use and have not needed the warranty.

I purchased this blanket for my sister who doesn't like electric blankets that get really warm/hot so this one works perfectly for her. It just warms the bed enough to take the chill off. It has very soft fabric and a really nice trim. I'm not crazy about the controls that don't lay flat on the bed, but have to stand up which works better on the night stand instead. I would recommend it if you don't like the extremely warm electric blankets.

just received this blanket. looks great, gets nice and warm. really like the control box which sits up nicely and has easy to view controls. even has a pre warm mode. excellent value for the money and it was the least expensive one. excellent quality. you cant go wrong with this one

I think I missed the "warming" part when I purchased this blanket. My new puppy had eaten through the cord of my electric blanket so I went searching for another one. I love the fabric of my new one, but it does just "warm" (even on 9) and barely. I know this winter in Connecticut it will not get hot enough for me. I love to hop into a really toasty warm bed on a cold New England night and this one will not be it. Great for a summer blanket and to warm it up before getting in.

These are perfect. Ordered one for each of my children for Christmas. No complaints.

My husband and I both like this style of electric blanket. It's very thin and heats up quickly. The quality is very nice. I'm very pleased in general. Not sure why it's called a "warming blanket". Could be a marketing thing...it's an electric blanket. I also haven't taken the time to read the instructions. I think there's a function that i haven't used, but no need, it works perfectly.

I am pleased with my twin electric warmer blanket. Very warm and light weight. I use it as a throw on the sofa. Have bought lots of throws in the past and they are just too small. My husband and I set on the sofa together and it covers both of us including my little dog. He loves it so much he has claimed it as his bed. Very pleased. May make it Christmas presents this year.

I am 76 y o and my neighbour bought it for me. We live in a small town in Nevada above 6,000 feet & it gets very cold here at nite. Last yr I had 5 thick blankets on my bed & my 62 y o neighbour bought me this Royal Velvet Warming blanket, its the greatest thing since high button shoes, thank you, Royal Velvet for making a nice soft affordable Electric blanket and Overstock for carrying their GREAT product. Everybody who lives in COLD parts of the Country will not be disapointed sleeping under this blanket.

I am someone who is quite picky on bedding. Thread count and cotton content are important to me. That's why when I saw that this blanket is 80% cotton, I had to order it. I was so pleased that I ordered two more! The blanket iself is SO very soft. Controls are easy to see and use. It is a VERY warm blanket. I've never had to set it above "4". Can't beat Overstock's flat rate shipping for under $3.00 too. Excellent buy.

The blanket is wonderful! But was not able to secure the colors I wanted! But whatever the color available, its worth it. This blanket is smooth, velvety and a real joy. I tried it and loved it. I sent one to my daughter who is in college in Mass! She really needed it! and the cost was great.

Since most everyone else is raving about how nice and soft it is, I want to say how grateful I was, that this blanket is 80% cotton---and how well it washes! I washed it on the delicate cycle. After it air-dried, I was happy to see that this blanket (full-size and in the delt blue color) was still soft, velvety to the touch and the blanket lay perfectly flat! (My other electric blanket's wires seemed to gather all over the place and I had to puil and stretch it back into shape so it would lie flat again.)

I first bought the queen size for myself. Than i bought a full size for my son. It works great. Quallity is good. Lay's nice on my bed. I haven't washed it yet. I would recommend this with no problem.

Thought this was a good deal for a king sized blanket, but was VERY disapointed from the first use. I put it on high and the chill is barely knocked off after an hour of preheating. Nice material, pretty color (rose), but hugely disapointed in the lack of heating. Kept it, but wish I had returned it.

I shopped a long time to find what I thought would be a good product, bought from here and am so disappointed. The electric blanket only heats on ONE side!!!! The controls shut off after short use......does not last though the night, and everytime, you have to set the controls and start over.

I am very pleased with my warming blanket. I actually use it on just my side of the bed and turn it on high about an hour before going to bed and then turning it off when I climb into bed. Nice and comfy...and not too hot...on a cold, winter night. Soft fabric, too. And...it's washable!

I bought the twin-size for my full-size bed which is perfect for me. I received it just in time for the October cold front that arrived in New England. I valued the review by utahmom4 and did exactly what she wrote myself, and it was right-on! Royal Velvet has had many recalls in the past, and the company is now out of business, therefore the warranty is invalid. I feel Overstock should have provided that information on their website. Because I have had good service from Overstock, I decided to trust them and I am pleased with the blanket. It is not thick and I still put other blankets on top of it but I turn the control off before going to sleep. I love having the control sit on the night table for easy visibility. I certainly hope that I will get several years' use out of it. It arrived all folded up, so it should be able to be stored that way as well. I see one reviewer experienced a defective one after only using it one year, and that person had purchased three at one time. I hope Overstock satisfied that customer.

was bought for grandfather. and he likes that he no longer has to use more than one blanket to keep warm. the only issue he has with it is the controls, he cant see them very well but other than that all seems ok
