DOWN BLANKET
from Sequim, Wa,  Nov 26, 2009

What a lovely down blanket this is. Using the reviews to guide my purchase, I was not disappointed. The fabric is crisp and not noisy like other down blanket and comforter purchasers mentioned about other similar items. The embroidery is lovely also. The blue color is pretty accurate. It is not a bright sky blue, more of a toned down soft blue. I love it. I also like the fact that it has some loft to it....not like a comforter, but not like a down blanket i have that depends more on the weight of the fabric than the down for warmth..this is light warm and just lovely. One thing to keep in mind, it has a more casual appeal rather than formal or dressy bedding....this is a wonderful purchase considering all of the above...also, depending on where you live and your heat source you might need a light blanket with it.....but perhaps not...that is a personal comfort...it's a great buy, you won't be sorry....

Asleep in Sleepy Eye
from Sleepy Eye, MN,  Oct 14, 2009

I purchased Overstock's sage green and ivory down blanket. It has just the right thickness and warmth to be comfortable to use year round.( Perfect for central air conditioning in the summer and used with additional blankets in the winter. ) The construction is great and the ( machine ) embroidery trim on the satin binding in nice. But the actual down blanket fabric is " wrinkly " on the bed. It is probably not what most people want to use as a bedspread. It is wonderful to sleep underneath and it makes our bed feel restful and welcoming . Isn't that what we all want at days' end?

Buy This
from Washington, DC,  May 30, 2010

I LOVE these "down blankets." It's like a lightweight comforter/duvet. Very soft. I cannot say enough positive things about this. It's perfect for year round warmth, maybe add a blanket or quilt in winter. We recenlty moved, and I bought a ton of bedding from all different places, *****, *****, *****, etc. Of all the things I bought, this is a slam dunk. Loved it so much, I bought two, My son and daughter both have one in their rooms. You can't go wrong with the price, and the quality is awesome, too. A+ purchase.

100%
 from Jaffrey, N.H.,  Mar 25, 2010

I purchased two of the down blankets for our home and have found them to be excellent. They are warm as needed but not too warm. There is no crinkling of the material as some have reported from other companies. The workmanship is excellent also. We just love them.

Pleased with purchase
from Puyallup, WA,  Mar 25, 2010

I've been sleeping through the cold Washington state winters with so many blankets piled on that I could barely turn over in bed. I keep our thermostate very low at night....58-60 degrees.....brrrrr. Thought of buying a down comforter and duvet cover but wasn't too crazy about the price. I also still like my bedspread and wasn't ready to replace it. So I was happy to see this down blanket on Overstock. It was even available in my room color....sage.I am extremely happy with the appearance and warmth of this blanket. It does not have a funny smell and it isn't noisy as other have reported. Slept last night very comfortably with flannel sheets, the Royal Velvet down blanket and a very light bedspread on top. Best part is that making the bed in the morning is a snap.My only disappointment is that the lovely embroidered flowers are on the ecru side only, making the sage side very plain looking.Went online today to order another sage blanket for my guest room. Pink/Lavender was my only choice. Darn! I will check back occasionally for the sage/ecru to be available again.Don't know how this blanket could disappoint.

love this blanket
from New England,  Mar 16, 2010

I purchased 2 queen size blankets for my daughters twin size beds. They love these blankets. The blankets are warm without being bulky. The colors are pastel and pretty. One daughter uses the lilac side and the other uses the pink side. They complement each other nicely. The girls especially like how the down in the blanket stays in place. Their old traditional down comforters always had the problem of the down shifting down to the bottom of the comforter, leaving them cold. I had ordered the queen size by mistake however, the extra size is a benefit with more coverage on the sides. Great blanket! So happy I purchased them. Delivery was quick and easy. Overall a very successful purchase!

Fluffy, warm, and soft!
from Apopka, FL,  Feb 8, 2010

I wanted to wait a while until writing a review on this blanket just to be sure that the quality lasts. I've had it for about 6 months now and for what I'm looking for in a goose down this one is perfection. It's thin, yet very fluffy. It gets very warm on cold/freezing nights and maintains a cool temperature on warm/hot nights. It takes a while for goose downs to fluff up, generally anywhere from 1-2 months of use, and after about a month of use it puffed up very nicely. The fabric is so incredibly soft and only gets softer with age. I love the embroidery on the edging, it's beautiful and none of the stitching has yet to come loose. The reversible colors are nice. I ordered the lavender/pink in king size. Both are very subtle and beautiful shades of light rose/lavender. The size is a large king, not a "small" king. It covers my king size bed and drapes perfectly. I haven't had any problems with feathers sticking out and poking/being itchy. Every once in a while a small feather comes out, but that's all and to be expected. I've had a couple light stains and I washed them lightly with warm water and a little bit of dish soap and they came off easily and dried to normal. I've yet to have it dry cleaned but plan on doing it soon. I would sum this blanket up as fluffy, warm, and incredibly soft and comfortable.

So Warm! We Love It!
from Houston, TX,  Jan 18, 2010

My husband and I have been blown away by the warmth of this blanket. This is fortunate because we've had an unusually cold, wet winter this year. We sandwich the blanket in a duvet cover and use it as our comforter. We have no other blankets or top sheets on the bed, yet we stay toasty. I am shocked by this because the blanket is *very* thin and light weight. When I pulled it out of the box, I thought at first that I had made a terrible mistake, so I immediately ordered a thicker (and more expensive) down comforter. Once we used the down blanket, though, I wished I hadn't been so hasty ordering another comforter. I ended up sending the thick comforter back without even opening the box. By the way, I keep the house set at 65 to 68 at night, but our bedroom is colder than the rest of the house, and we sleep with our heads beneath a couple of poorly-sealed windows. So when I say this blanket is warm, I mean it. I highly recommend this purchase. It's a fabulous deal. I am so, so pleased.

Perfect
from Washington state,  Jan 9, 2010

This is the third one of these I've bought. I gave one to my parents several years ago, and they loved it so much I gave them one for their vacation home. They live in Utah, I live in Wasington and we both have cold winters. Both my mother and I hate feeling like we are trapped under a heavy comforter, but want to be warm. ( My dad can sleep anywhere, anytime cold or hot.) We all three say this blanket is the best news from Overstock.com. The price is right, it is quality material and workmanship and the satin trim dresses it up very nicely. I have also purchased several comforters from Overstock.com and this one is still the one I prefer to use. It's perfect, so don't let them change it!

Silky, comfortable, warm, yet very light. just the perfect bedcover when my medium weight down comforter is too much. And beautiful to boot; lovely embroidered trim and restful pastel color (I chose sage). I purchased several as gifts too.

Pretty Down Blanket
from Jackson, TN.,  Dec 24, 2009

I was very pleased with the quality & look of this down blanket. The weight will be great all year round. The pink is sweet & the light purple (lilac) trim a perfect accent. I bought in Full for my twin bed & like the extra size. Warm without being hot.

Warm and Wonderful
from Pacific Northwest,  Dec 16, 2009

This is a great quality blanket that happened to arrive just before a severe cold-snap in our area - timely! I'm a big fan of down for it's warmth and light weight and the Royal Velvet blanket didn't disappoint. It's well-made, attractive, has plenty of down filled pockets, and the embroidered trim is a nice added touch. I like the fact that the blanket is a different color on each side, making it more versatile than single color blankets. It's an excellent value for top quality and I'm directing friends to purchase it while supplies last. Thank you Overstock.com for making great quality goods available at equally great prices.

heavenly
from Whistler, Canada,  Dec 11, 2009

Purchased two of these down blankets for guest bedrooms in our winter chalet. Quality was excellent and guests felt warmth without bulk. Added bonus was the beautiful embroidery around the edge. The down blanket is of a quality you would find in high end lodges, but at a fraction of the price.

well made
 from VA,  Nov 25, 2009

The blankets seemed to be well made and are attractive. I read in a previous review that the blankets "smelled funny" at first but were fine after airing out. I did not notice this at all. Blankets were not as thick as I had expected, but are pretty warm. I probably would get a thicker blanket next time, but do think these are attractive and well made.

Royal Velvet 320 Thread Count Embroidery Down Blan
from Roanoke, VA,  Nov 19, 2009

I shopped in retail stores, and comparable down blankets were hard to find and the few that I did find did not contain down but a down alternative. They also were more expensive and did not have color choices or the added feature of the embroidered edging that make this down blanket especially attractive. The light weight provides both adequate warmth and comfort without heaviness of down comforters that I've used previously.

Best Deal On "O"
from Naples, Fl.,  Nov 17, 2009

I ordered these blankets (two king; one ecru/sage, one pink lavender). LOVE them. So much in fact that I just ordered two more. Let me start by saying that I order things off "that shopping channel". They have the same blanket(slightly different design) for $156.00 all day long. They had a TSV recently where the king size was $138.00. This blanket is the SAME THING! It had a slight odor, but ALL down products do. I stretched it across our pool table and aired it out for 24 hrs, flipping it once. Odor completely gone. No issues with feathers coming out and just a soft, beautiful blanket all together. If I had the funds, I would order ten. I never want to be without this blanket. I know it says "Dry Clean Only".Not the case, as with all my other down blankets. They all say that. Washer and Dryer, no special settings. To cut your drying time, I use dryer balls, but some people use tennis balls. Either way, the blanket comes out perfectly. I just can't say enough good things about it. We live in Florida and it is perfect all year. We keep our bedroom at 70 and this does the trick. Even when it get in the 40"s( yikes), this is stil warm enough for here. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE them!
