Regency Tapestry Throw

I had my eye on this throw for weeks before I finally decided sure, it could look ok in our bedroom. The colors appeared rich and even looked like they had a pearlescent sheen. I was excitedly looking forward to this blanket's delivery. When I pulled it out of the packaged, I exclaimed out loud even though my dogs were the only one's home to hear me. The blanket I received looks NOTHING like the image. This is not a case of "the colors may appear different on your screen than in reality." Not just the colors, but the pattern itself is different. The colors are the worst though: ugly, muted, muddied maroon fills most of one side, with a darkish blue border much smaller than depicted, and the reverse is the same, only a field of tired, faded sage and cream with a dull, dirty mustard and maroon border. This is hideous. And yet it looks so pretty in the picture. BEWARE! You're not getting a pretty, light-catching blue-gray and rich rusty colored tapestry throw. You're getting an eyesore that looks tired and dirty. It works fine at keeping me warm if I get chilly in the night, and it has a nice weight to it, but I only appreciate it in the dark, where I don't have to be reminded of my disappointment over and over. Now it gets folded out of sight asap, or brought out for the dogs to have thrir crumb-messy treats on it. This is strike two out of my 3 most recent orders. And now I have to write about the set of sheets that are strike three, most likely my last at-bat shopping from here, sadly. I had good experiences in the past, but three frustrations in a row at quick succession is suspect. At least that statement about it being useful only in the dark, where I don't have to be reminded repeatedly of my mistake, was about a blanket and not my husband ;) Bottom line: for the price, you do get a sturdy, thick warm blanket. It looks like it has some tough staying power, too. You just don't get the pretty, "fancy" one you might expect.
