This comforter is great!! As stated in the directions, when you first get it, you need to spread it out and give it about 24 hours to "breathe" and get rid of the feathery odor (though the odor on my comforter was quite faint). The comforter fluffs up very nicely and the material covering it feels so soft and satiny, I almost didn't want to cover it with my duvet. You cannot beat the value for the price here. Also, the weight is perfect. Comfortable even in the summertime when you want to feel swaddled in warmth but not so hot that you're sweating at night...just toasty enough.
I have spent countless hours shopping around and doing my homework on down types, fill power, fill weight, thread count, Egyptian cotton, etc, and in my, now *expert*, opinion :) , I must humbly admit that this comforter is *truly* the best value: maximum luxury, quality and durability for the $$. The comforter arrived in a big box just in time for Christmas! This is gorgeous comforter: fluffy, cloud-like, fresh and with a quality construction. The perfect dimensions to hide under my quilt. I am so pleased and pleasantly surprised to see the manufacturer on the tag is one I recognize to be top notch. As some have already mentioned in their ratings, the item doesn't come 'branded' with a nice 'designer' paper insert facing the comforter in the clear zip poly-pouch, as most bedding products do. There is simply *no* insert at all in the bag - just the comforter. Yes, such an insert would help to describe the product to someone who received this comforter as a gift. The tags attached to bedding never seem to do a sufficient job at that and almost never have the thread count. No big deal! I just surfed the web for the manufacturer's website, which was hard to find, but persistence paid off, I found it and there I found even more detailed product spec's and everything I ever wanted to know about them. All I can say is, wow! Overstock's description doesn't do this comforter justice. My theory on the subject,... the product may come direct from the source, the manufacturer, I'm guessing the source gets commissioned to manufacturer under famous department store labels, like I've heard many manufacturers do. In such a case, where their product is displayed in a brick and mortar retail store, I can see where a custom designer insert with the product description would be necessary, but when the product comes direct from them and the description is in different form of media, *online*, it almost seems like a waist of precious time, trees, $$, and whatever else goes in to producing one of those printed inserts, don't you think? I'm guessing that's why they chose not include one. Just a thought.
After reading through other people's reviews I was somewhat skeptical of this product, but purchased it anyways. What I noticed with a lot of the reviewers is that they were using this comforter as a secondary comforter or were first time down comforter buyers. I have owned a few down comforters and was looking for a new comforter as I bought a bigger bed and needed a bigger comforter. When I received the comforter and aired it out for a few days, even "stretching" the feathers out, this did not puff up and stayed flat. Puffiness can take up to three weeks in some cases, but even after a week this stayed flat as can be. Additionally, plenty of boxes had no feathers in them and I could nearly see through the comforter. Other boxes just collected feathers in a corner and would not distribute evenly. I highly doubt the fill power as noted in the description. The material is nice, but if you're looking for a puffy comforter, this is not the one. I ended up going back to where I bought my other comforters and bought one there, where I know what kind of quality I'm getting.
i got this as a christmas gift and it is the best thing ever. this comforter is like sleeping on a cloud it is so soft! the fabric is great even my boyfriend who doesn't really like down loves it and says he wont be sleeping with anything else now. i've shop around for a good down blanket and this is the best price i've seen for the high made quality. i'm so happy i love it!!
I LOVED THIS COMFORTER! i got it and i put it on my bed right away. That night i fell asleep right away. With my old comfortable from here i would get hot EVERY night but with this one it keeps me just right and i used to wake up alot in the middle of the night and i dont wake up no more. I ABSOLUTLEY love this comfortable, I wouldn't want a different one!
I was very disappointed with the amount of down feathers the comforter contained. When you spread it out, there were many areas with none at all--just fabric on fabric--and it cost me twenty-two dollars to return it, including the O's 4.95 "restocking fee." Don't do it unless you like flat.
I purchased this last week and I'm quite impressed. Keeps me warm, sometimes too warm. I sleep with this comforter and a sheet and I'm super toasty. It hasn't gotten that cold here in Chicago yet, but this baby will hold up for sure. Get the King size for a Queen size bed. Trust me.....this way you can bunch it up on top of the bed so it's real fluffy.
I have bought 2 previous down comforters from overstock and been please. This one was a disaster. Received in plastic bag with no label to identify if this indeed was what I had ordered. Relutantly opened and spread out on bed - felt very thin - held up to light and 1/3 - 1/2 squares had none or very little down in them. Must have gotten a return or defective item. Will return and don't think I should have to pay postage/insurance. Bad product or I just got a lemon.
This comforter is everything it said it was. Big, comfortable, warm to sleep in. I like the box stitch in the comforter. Really soft, moves well in bed.
We've had several down comforters over the years and I would say that this one is one of the best. It is warm and lightweight at the same time. I would definitely recommend this comforter. It didn't smell at all when we removed it from the carton.
This Quilt/Comforter is well made, light on the body but gives the warmth needed at night! I was concerned because of allergies but after using this for several weeks......it does not appear to be causing any trouble with my allergies! Thank you Overstock.com for helping to make shopping so simple with the best prices! I could not find anything of quality in the Marketplace that compared in workmanship & price.
The comforter is just ok. The down doesn't seem to stay fluffed up and the fill has a tendency to fall to the bottom and sides of the bed. Also, take note of the size. Most duvet covers are now "oversided" and this comforter is standard sized, so I have way too much fabric and no comforter to fill it.
excellent quality, would recomend to anyone, I live in Florida and the comforter remains cool all year around...perfect weight and comfort
I bought this because I wanted a high tread count, Hungarian down and a baffle box construction. This had only a partial baffle box construction. The down was not distributed evenly. It was really weird. The center ended up flat. I returned it and bought a comforter with a true baffle box. BIG difference.
I purchased this down comforter for myself. Great hotel bedding and then you come home... NOT ANYMORE. This comforter is better than any five star hotel. You need to be cold natured though. This is REALLY warm. Light weight and wonderful. One minor disappointment....the box runs veritcal only. Therefore, after the night some of down and feather is at the bottom of the comforter. Hasn't bothered me yet.
This comforter arrived just as our first cold front went through. My husband and I slept with the windows open (50 degrees outside) under this wonderfully warm, light weight fluffy comforter and I kept waking up thinking "I'm sleeping in a cloud!" I love it. The down is evenly distributed throughout and the cover is satiny soft.
The product was exactly as represented and was delivered in a timely manner.
I love this comforter! I was looking for something that could be used UNDER our regular bed comforter and this is perfect. Many of the comforters now are over-sized and hang lower on the sides of the bed, but this one fell even with the bottom of our mattress (which is 15" thick). When I make the bed up with our main comforter, the down one remains hidden under it. There was a very faint smell when I first opened it, but within a couple of hours, the odor was gone and it was nice and fluffy after a few good shakes. The weight is just perfect for fall and spring weather and most people would probably be fine with this weight during the winter, too. For the money, it's a great deal!
Wow!! What a great comforter!! I must agree with some of the reviews that it does look flat at first and when you hold it up to the light it does appear sort of empty in spots but after a good shake to get the air flowing through it, it starts to puff up immediately. It literally feels like you are wrapped up in a cloud covered with cotton. It's so fluffy and soft. If anyone is wondering about which comforter to buy thru Overstock this one should definitely be the one. There is a slight smell upon opening it as warned, but it's not too overpowering and it starts to go away once it has had a chance to air out. I received mine at about 2:00pm and opened it right away. I let it air out for a few hours and was able to sleep with it the same night. Once again--a great comforter!!!
Very comfortable! Soft material! I will love it in the winter, however, it is a little warm for these summer months but it is so comfortable I still want to use it now instead of waiting! Good size and fill. Exactly what I expected.
