I usually don't buy something if I don't know the brand but I gave this a shot and am so glad I did! This comforter was made by Northern Nights to sell on a shopping channel. I know this because it is on the bag. Comes with a 5 year warranty. I had a Northern Nights comforter years ago and was really happy so this is great. I don't like the added weight of a duvet which is why I wanted a colored comforter. I got the Orchid which has more blue than pink in it. Although there is a different color on each side they are very similar. The diamond pattern is really nice looking and being oversized, which was a huge selling point for me, is fantastic. This is a great medium comforter for winter in California. Once I got warmed up, I had it tented over me with all this heat being held in. I was warm the entire night. It was perfect. I am thinking of getting another color just to have that is how much I like this thing.
This comforter was much thinner than I was expecting - it's only about an inch thick - and it is very light. I doubt it will be very warm. The color of the picture lead me to believe the comforter would be more of a dusky rosy color, almost faded with just a little hint of grey. The actual color is peachy pink, and was my biggest disappointment. I plan on returning this item.
This comforter is not a quality item. The feathers come through the fabric cover. It is awful. There is an awful smell coming from the comforter when you first get it. It will last for about 2 - 3 weeks. They warn you about this, but it was awful enduring it.
Ordered in Cappuccino, color was a bit lighter than expected from the picture. Very warm, but the cover makes a sort of crinkly sound that we're hoping will wear down after a while. Stitching on the pattern has some sort of issue so that the threads keep coming up but are still attached on both ends so that our arms and wrists keep managing to get trapped under them. The "oversizedness" of the comforter isn't too impressive, but it does the job of covering the top of the bed.
Very happy with this comforter...extra large, easy to fluff, very cozy (warm). Cover is dense enough that it does not allow down to escape. Only complaint is that it was very wrinkled due to packing, and it really needed a light press to make it look its best. Color was spot on to what I saw on the site.
I wasn't expecting much since I got such a great deal on this comforter. However, I was pleasantly suprised! When I first put it on our bed, it was flat and wrinkled, but it puffed up nicely and the wrinkles faded over a couple of days. I'm very happy I bought this!
First, let me say that I would consider this more of a comforter due to the fact that is much heavier/ fuller than other down blankets that I have ordered. I was very impressed with the quality immediately upon receipt. The fabric seems to be of good quality and it lofted up nicely. I did not notice any odor at all. I personally love that it doesn't have the satin trim so I do in fact use it more as a comforter and it looks great on our bed. It is a little warmer than I had hoped for South Texas even in our house where the temperature is always set low. I ordered the blue because my first choice of the tan was out of stock. The blue is a true medium blue. It could have been about 4" wider for our very deep mattress but that's ok. I am still very pleased with it. I was hoping to use it year round, but it looks like it will have to be used in colder months. If you are looking for a warm blanket, I would definitely recommend this one. I am going to order another one for our guest room as as well.
We bought this down comforter for our new king-sized bed. Both my husband and I are very pleased with the purchase. It is a great value for the price! The comforter is oversized, so we don't have to fight over the covers. When it first arrived, the comforter had a slight odor and was pretty thin. However, after a few days, the comforter smelled normal and had plumped up. We are in California where the nights get pretty chilly and this comforter is perfect. We got the grey/purple one and the color was pretty similar to the one in the picture. Overall, we are excited about this new addition!
This slender comforter was just what we needed. It's light but warm...but...not too warm. It's winter in the NW and we have this and a wool blanket and we're perfect! The other down comforters we've had are heavy and the down falls to the bottom no matter what we do. This comforter cover has enough body that is holds its shape and feels crisp and nice. We're thinking of getting another for our guest house.
When my comforter arrived and I unpacked it I left it out for a few days before putting it on my bed. It was still quite wrinkled. However, after several days the wrinkles did come out. I absolutely love this comforter. It is so warm and cozy and yet very light. We stay nice and warm even with our cold New England nights! I would recommend it. Be patient and tbe wrinkles will come out!
I read a number of the reviews on this product and I'm glad I didn't let a few of the bad ones keep my from buying this product. It came as advertised and I did NOT notice any bad smell. It did sound a bit crinkly/crunchy as some have said, but I only think I noticed it because it was said in a few of the reviews. The comforter is large, more than adequate to fit on my queen bed. It is warm and most important, the feathers have not bunched up like my old comforter. What a relief. I keep mine in a duvet cover, but the color was true to the pictures. I live in Buffalo, so this comes in handy on cold nights! This is a great buy and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a mostly down comforter.
Love this comforter! True to color as shown on-line and just the right amount of warmth. The only thing I did not like was the down enclosure is very stiff to the point of a "crackle" sound when you move under the comforter. I hope and do think this will cease with use. This is not enough of a problem that would keep me from recommending to a friend. Definitely purchase again!
I have a full size bed, but bought the twin because I didn't want it hanging down so far. This is working out well for me since I am also using a bedspread on top of this comforter. The material is nice and soft. The quality of construction is very good. There were just a few clipped threads stuck to the comforter that I had to remove. I fluffed it before putting it on the bed as recommended and it falls to exactly where I wanted it to be on the bed. After using it, this has added a good level of warmth without being too much.
