BEWARE
 from TX,  Nov 5, 2009

The cover on this product is fine. However, several of the channels don't have any fill in them and the remainder are filled very unevenly. It also does not seem to be any where near the weight as advertised. The compartments around the perimeter are the only ones filled appropriately. I will have to purchase another one later and hope that I get better consistency in filling than this one.

3 month evaluation
from Vancouver, WA,  Dec 28, 2010

I chose to wait and use this comforter for 3 months BEFORE I wrote a review, as first impressions of a product don"t always mean quality over time. This comforter is EXTREMELY warm for the amount of weight it has itself. I have kept a cover on it since I bought it as I tend to be a tad perfectionistic about keeping the white cover WHITE! But the comforter itself has an extremely soft&supple material-If I didn't have to worry about washing it, the material is super cozy, alas I opt for a cover! Now the only con is the initial 'down shedding'....if you have EVER owned a feather comforter before, you know that it's inevitable that in the 'infant' years of your comforter, the smallest down feathers are going to make thier way out of the comforter-no matter how high count the cover-these tiny blasted things get everywhere; I am just over 3 months and it's finally slowing down. The total amount shed was probably only a toddler sized hand full of 1-4mm sized down;noticeable only because I have dark plum colored cover&linens-never would have guessed it was even shedding had I not seen them! I have yet to even feel a real feather-the ones that most other comforters have that randomly poke you and you try to grab em&they suck back in---not with this one! Best Buy! The last down/feather comforter I bought I paid three times the price for&had way more problems with by the time 3 months rolled around!

too thin
from Cary, NC,  Oct 26, 2009

I was very disappointed in this item. It's more like a down blanket. I would never call it a comforter. It's not much more than 1/2 " thick. Not at all what I was expecting as a "comforter".

Horrible
 from KY,  Nov 23, 2009

I was so excited to receve this. Most of the reviews were great and I was expecting a wonderful down comforter to keep me warm this winter. Boy, was I ever wrong. The fabric actually feels ok, but it would be nice to have some down in a down comforter. 700 fill yeah right. There is some in this spot and that corner, but it is so unevenly distributed ( even fluff after fluff ) that I am just giving up and returning it. What's so bad is that I bought three of these awful things ( two for family gifts ). I won't even give them to anyone because I would be embarassed to do so. The list price is ridiculous. There is no way this thing ever cost that much anywhere. It shouldn't cost more than $20 and I still wouldn't buy again. Needless to say, very upset about this item.

not worth it
from layton ut,  Nov 4, 2009

I would not buy this at all. It is not what is described. i went through 2 comforters hoping that it was a fluke. However, Some of the squares haven't feathers so the comforter is lopsided not to mention that it is not warm. I would be better off putting a sheet on my bed.

poor quality
from Scottville, Michigan,  Nov 6, 2009

You get what you pay for I guess. Package is unmarked with no information so you don't know where it was made or by whom. The list price on this was a joke. The baffels are not completely sewn so the feathers shift to other zones leaving zones empty. Just hold one up to the light to see. I returned it as defective and am still waiting to see what they are going to do.

Good buy
from Austin, TX,  Oct 1, 2009

I have been pricing these for some time and found that the price at Overstock was excellent. The fabric is soft, and it seems well made. I did buy the king size for my queen size bed because I have my bed on risers, and I'm glad I did. It fits better than the queen would have.

I was very disappointed in the fabric quality. It feels like news paper. The comforter is very thin- this is not what I expected.

This would be a great down comforter for the summer months! I am not sure how they rate the fill on these things, but it is not nearly what I expected. Very thin and cheap looking - I can see light through it. Not going through the hassle of returning, but I will definately need to get another down comforter for the winter months as this surely will not keep me warm. You get what you pay for.

Not enough feathers! Buyer beware!
from New York,  Sep 18, 2009

I agree with roots 1209 that the quality is poor - not enough feathers, so can't be fluffed, not as picture looks, many squares do not have feathers, not warm enough for the winter as it's not warm enough for beginning fall. Picture is very misleading. I would not recommend to buy this product for the winter.

Great Comforter!
from MKE, WI,  Sep 24, 2009

I wasn't willing to pay $300 in the store for a down comforter - and because of Overstock, I didn't have to! This comforter is fantastic quality, warm without being too heavy and bulky, and comfortable! I put it in the dryer on air fluff for about an hour with a couple dryer sheets when it came (as the description says, it is packed tightly and isn't particularly impressive upon removal from the box) and it fluffed right up. I'm almost (but not quite) looking forward to winter because of this comforter!

Don't Buy This Item Please!!!!!
 from VA,  Sep 15, 2009

This product does not look like the picture, it is a flat comforter, not fluffy and it is not oversized. We brought a king size and it does not fit a queen size bed. The comforter does kept you fairly warm however the down quantity is of low count and many of the squares do not have feathers. Overall the comforter is of poor quality and I would not recommend that you purchase this item.

Love it!
from Kansas City, MO,  Jul 22, 2009

The comforter is extremely soft! I have had a few down comforter's before and always spent over $200.00. This one is by far better than anything I have ever purchased and for less than half the price! Perfect size, color, texture, and fill. I would highly reccomend this product for others.

Great Comforter Great Price
from Charlotte, NC,  May 1, 2009

This is a 5 Star down comforter across the board. I've needed to replace my other down comforter for quite sometime and I am on a strict budget. I had been studying the down comforters available and reading the reviews. Then I located this comforter, but no reviews so I was hesitant. But after thoroughly studying the product specifications I decided to take a chance. The 500 thread count cover is very soft and the fill is luxurious. The only thing I'm not sure that it is a 700 fill power, but it will more than meet my needs in the southeast winters. I'm sure there are comforters of these specifications that are better, but I guarantee you'll pay a much heftier price, well into the hundreds of dollars. Be sure to buy all down, not down/feather combination.

warmth and comfort
from Northern California,  Sep 24, 2011

I loved this comforter when I first got it. It was warm and comfortable. I shook it about once a week to keep it fluffy and not packed down. I t was great for the cold winter nights. But after several months it started getting flat in the center and lost its warmth and softness. Most of the feathers had migrated to the edges of the comforter. So it was just bulky on the edges. After almost a year I got rid of it, so I don't feel that it was such as good a deal as when I originally bought it. I am disappointed as I expected to have it for quite a long time before having to replace it.

AWFUL.
 from ATL,  Mar 21, 2011

This item is NOT worth $xxx. The comforter itself is THIN. There is virtually NO down in the comforter & it is as thin as a quilt. Quite a rip-off.

I have this on my bed with a duvet cover. My room looks like a farm with how many feathers there are. If i wear black and sit on my bed im screwed. Otherwise i love it and its not too hot.

smaller and thiner than advertized
from Anchorage, Alaska,  Sep 29, 2010

NOT what I was hoping for at all! I ordered a cal-king comforter, and it even says oversize, however it's probably the size of a queen. I wont return it because I live in Alaska and shipping will not make this worth it. This is a very thin comforter as well. It would be good for a summer in Florida, not the winter in Alaska (which is why I bought it). The one good thing is that it took 2 days to get here, but that doesn't matter now since I don't like it. SMALL COMFORTER!

Very nice!
from Bayou, MS,  Sep 12, 2009

This is a great, lighter weight comforter for folks like me in MS who want fluffy down but don't need the warmth of a higher fill comforter. I've had no problem with smell, the distribution of down or leaking. I have a substantial king mattress, so even oversize doesn't cover it as shown in the picture, but this comforter does cover my mattress (I've had problem finding king size comforters that fit). I plan to buy another one for my guest room.
