I've had this since 2005! It's pretty warm and cozy and we use it year-round. It does tend to clump in areas and becomes a chore to spread back out, but that's really the case with most down comforters out there. For what I paid ($****), I got what I paid for.
This comforter fit inside my Cal King Duvet cover well, and fits on my Cal King bed fairly decently. It does not feel huge, but I didn't expect it to for this price. It is fairly fluffy, but not every square is jam-packed with down. Again, I didn't expect it to be a top quality product at this price point. It is a decent down comforter that is a decent weight and that keeps me warm, but doesn't make me sweat at night. All in all, this product does what I need it to do at a price that doesn't make me feel guilty.
I love the look and feel of this comforter, but can't take the feathers that are slipping out all over the place. I have had it now for several months and have the comforter packed inside TWO duvet covers...and still feathers are everywhere. I am thinking to replace it with a down alternative comforter since I just can't take it any more!
I purchased this 5 years ago and recently got rid of it due to allergies. It is good quality and light weight. It did have a smell when it arrived, but that dissipates in a few days. It is filled with at least 75% white down, which was the deciding factor....the brand name is "Blue Ridge", if that means anything to you. Recently, right before I got rid of it, I noticed that most of the filling had shifted to the edges. I'm not sure if thats because at some point I machine washed and dried it (with woolite in cold water) or because the stitching was not secure enough. Maybe down really should be dry cleaned.
I bought this comforter after shopping around for about a week and went with this one because it was oversized, had white goose down, was a baffle box construction, was fluffy, and because of the many good reviews. I have no problems with feathers coming out or a scent like other reviewers noted. I did notice that some of the stitching wasn't complete on some of the squares. Overall I think it's great. Very soft and luxurious. I Love how soft and fluffy it is. For living in San Antonio, Tx, the blanket does get you a little too warm at night sometimes. I also saw on the tag that it says minimum of 75% down. I don't know what the rest is filled with. The price is okay. If I decide to get another one I think I would try one that's cheaper in price. For the price I didn't expect some stitching to not be complete, no feathers coming out but the feathers are going into other squares which is the whole reason I was looking for baffle box. That's why I give it 4 stars.
This blanket is amazing and would be great for year round weather. Keeps you warm but is airy and breathable at the same time. I would definitely reccomend it. Only problem is that I have noticed that the feathers tend to fall out. A duvet cover is pretty necessary with this one.
Love this fabric! It has a smooth silky feel to it, and seems tightly woven. I'm very particular about my bedding, and recently returned another brand because it was like sleeping under a bag of potato chips. Not this baby...no annoying crunch here. The comforter also seems evenly filled, and though it hasn't had much time to fluff up yet, I'm already happy with its loft . I have bought down comforters that cost more than twice this price, and the quality of this one is right on par with those. VERY satisfied!
Was looking for a Cal King but could not find one in white. Found this Oversized King and took the chance. Fits great, feels great so no complains here. I personally do not feel thread count differences so this is super great buy for me.
I have had this comfortor for more than two years, My wife is always cold and she loves it. I'm always hot and I hate it. It keeps her warm in the winter and it feels soft and comfortable. I on the other hand don't use it since I sweat in the winter with the A/C on.
The fabric is excellent, it's very soft...however as far as it being a "comforter" I think it's closer to being a nice heavy sheet.. If you were going to use two comforters on your bed then maybe this would work for you, otherwise I would not recommend it, but that's just me.
I really like my blanket. The only problem I have with it is that I loose some of the feathers. The itty bitty ones seem to fall out of the blanket quite a bit. I havent ever owned a nice down blanket so Im not sure if a bit of "shedding" is normal or not. Overall its a very fluffy and soft blanket.
I did a lot of research and read a lot of the reviews about this product, so I felt relatively confident that the comforter would be a good value for the money. What can I say, the comforter exceeded my expectations. I didn't notice the slight odor which some of the other customers had when they opened the comforter. After a couple of hours, the comforter fluffed up and I felt like I was sleeping on a cloud. It is the most fluffy comforter I have ever owned. It is also very warm. The only thing negative you can say about it is that it makes you not want to get out of bed in the morning.
This is the second down comforter that I have ordered from overstock. This is by FAR my favorite! It is very fluffy and warm. My husband thinks that its a little to warm but I think that its perfect. I agree with other posts that say it gets fluffier everytime you make the bed. I have a few duvet covers for it as I would never use a down comforter without one, but the fabric on the comforter itself is very soft. Mine also arrived with no smell but I also popped it into the dryer for 30 minutes with a couple of dryer sheets. My 3yr old and my 2 yr old love to snuggle in our bed now! Would reccomend highly!
