I am very familiar with down comforters, as I used to work for a company that made them. I was looking for one with medium warmth, and this one is perfect. I love the 350 thread count fabric - it is soft and doesn't allow any down to "leak" out. This oversized queen comforter covers well on the sides of my pillowtop mattress. This is a very good quality down comforter. I would highly recommend it.
I really love this comforter. It's soft and super lightweight. It is perfect for the Texas heat. I think with an extra blanket and some sheets, it'll be perfect for the winter too. I am not very surprised that the color was off (I ordered Tawny Port). The picture seems to be more of a mauve or dull dark pink, while it is actually a rich dark reddish/maroon. It's very pretty, but just a heads up if you're ordering this color. I ordered it in king size, even though I have a queen sized bed. In my opinion it fits fine, with only a little extra overhang. I didn't want a full/queen size comforter that barely fit my bed. The shell is a little loud when you move around. There is a little bit of down coming out in some places, but that's pretty typical too. I washed it right away to fluff it up and get rid of the feather smell. If you're looking for a great comforter for a good price, this is it. If you don't like the colors, you can always get a duvet :)
This was my first purchase on this website, the stuff was just OK--- there is not as much as down filled inside and the down keep getting outside. The most thing I cannot accept is that the price was $10 less after 15 days I had purchased, and I chatted with the customer service, they refused to help me with the price match. The first buying experience was not good, so I doubt I would keep buying things here.
Color seems pretty accurate--a peacock blue or teal. Very nice quality cotton on the outside, nice, fluffy down inside so the comforter looks fluffed up nicely, not flat. There is a slight feather smell, but that is going away. I am using it as a summer comforter for San Francisco Bay Area, where cool nights are 57F to 62F, and it's perfect. I am very happy with this purchase.
*Most important: it's not shedding and the closed boxes are properly done so the down is evenly distributed. I got this to use as my winter down and finally got it out a week ago (after I finally got over my denial about the weather changing!). It's working out really well, and I did not expect much given the price. I overheat easily and use what's labeled as a "down blanket" in the summer with the a/c on. That really doesn't cut it in the winter though (especially since I prefer not to wear much to sleep in) and I just moved to a basement apartment. With this guy, I can turn the heat down to 67 and I'm still happy as a clam. Probably not great for winter in really cold climates, but I bet this means it would work well for summer in the mountains or further north. The feel of the fabric is a touch on the stiff side, though. And it's a bit noisy; sounds like a tarp moving around (not nearly as loud, but that's the only way I can think to describe it). I actually don't mind a bit of crinkly rustling--it adds to the cozy factor for some reason, don't ask me why--but this is a bit much. Tiny, tiny niggles. Speaking of niggles: don't pay attention to bad reviews from people who are upset about the color (I mean in general as well). I got the blue, and it's really vibrant, like a teal/peacock color. If you are that upset about the color then you probably shouldn't be shopping online. There's a reason they clearly state in every listing that all screens are different!
I was very surprised at the color, it matched the photo well. I ordered the blue, it's a very bright peacock blue. I was not what I was expecting to the touch, it was not very soft and it kind of sounds like a tarp when you move it around. However, it's very pretty in color, and keeps us warm without being too hot. We live in Florida and have been using it in the summer, so I think it will be great year round. Overall very pleased!
The comforter is a nice weight for our area - we live in AZ where it never gets really cold. The color isn't even CLOSE to the picture, however. I thought I was getting a dusty mauve color and it turned out to be a dark maroon. It isn't a bad color, just not what is pictured and I hadn't counted on having to figure out how to get red dye out of it before it bleeds to my sheets! It does seem to be machine washable, but I have to trek to a laundromat to do so since it is large. That said, the length and width are nice - actually covers the edges and end of the mattress!
Product clearly had clearly been opened before, likely are return and semi-repackage. This was disappointing as it caused the product to be very wrinkled and it's not the kind of thing you iron. The color does not at all match the online photo, and this discrepancy is far behind just a computer color display difference - it's simply not the same color at all. It is lightweight, as advertised, but the down is not evenly dispersed within each stitched square, even after fluffing and airing, which is disappointing. It's inexpensive, and for the price it is ok. It's not worth a penny more.
Very true Blue! I did the Caribbean Blue and let me tell you it is just like the colors you see in the Caribbean! The blue is a little bright but it does go great with out black furniture. I will say if there is a little stain that gets on it (my dog sleeps on the bed) It is very easy with a rag and water to get out. (so far) It is light enough for Florida weather as well but I still recommend keeping a fan on just in case. The only thing I was a little disappointed with is it is a little noisy with the material on the outside. You move and it makes noise. So thinking of maybe getting a cover. Otherwise great buy for the price!
