I purchased another duvet from B3 almost identically made to this one that I absolutely loved, but the queen size dimensions were odd for the duvet cover I'd purchased, so I bought this one (kept the B3 duvet just in case) since it looked to be a better fit. The instructions said this duvet would need 'fluffing' when opened because shipping would flatten it out. Honestly, there's no way this skinny little thing would fluff out to near the luxurious form of the B3 one. Even with that, I might've given it time to grow on me if it hadn't been for the noise. A comforter that's noisy? Are you kidding? I unfolded it, spread it out on my bed, lay down once, then immediately folded it back up, returned it to its packaging, and contacted customer service for a return. Odd dimensions are a minor inconvenience when you compare the quality. I highly recommend the Real Simple line from B3 as an alternative to this one. So glad I kept the first one! On the upside, O was pleasant when I contacted them about the return, and I'm waiting for my shipping label. The $*.** 'label fee' was disappointing, but better than being stuck with this product.
I could not recommend this comforter to anyone due to the lack of down within the individual pockets--in fact, a few were nearly empty. In addition, the outside frabic makes a crackling sound whenever it is touch. Not a good thing for a "toss n turn" sleeper.
This is actually the first down comforter I have owned. I have always used quilts in the past. I can't compare this to another, but I do like that it is fluffy and not too heavy. My only complaint is that it is very "noisy" Like your in a plastic bag! Maybe all comforters are like this? Overall I prefer this comforter with my duvet cover over a quilt or bedspread. The shipping was fast and the comforter arrived in perfect condition.
This is the first down comforter that I have actually OWNED (others have been owned by exes, friends, etc.), and I am really pleased with my choice. In the Pacific Northwest it gets pretty frosty on winter nights, and my apartment is not the most efficient at keeping heat in (single pane windows and very shoddy insulation). In addition, I am practically always cold, and it takes me a while to get warm after climbing into bed. Not so with this comforter! I have been able to warm up in just minutes, and the comforter isn't too heavy or thick, so I don't ever feel like I am suffocated or overheating with it on. Some people might find that the weight just isn't enough for them - my ex liked the heaviness of a medium fill comforter and a thick duvet cover - but I like the fact that it doesn't feel like I'm buried in my bedding. Lightweight, warm, and very comfortable. I definitely recommend it, especially for the price!
