I have not slept on it yet, but wanted to clarify something that I did not realize when purchasing. This is 2 separate pieces. There is a 3 inch piece of foam, and then a topper that goes over the bare foam. The topper has "1.5 inches" of fill. That is being very generous. Like I said, I have not slept on it yet to review its comfort.

I researched carefully and had high expectations for this topper because of all the glowing reviews, but so far I'm a little ambivalent. I chose this because the density is listed at 3.2lbs and I thought it might be a good compromise with the 4lb topper I was considering. I have never owned a memory foam topper before, but this seems soft for what I was expecting. One reviewer commented the gel made it too rigid in colder weather. My thermostat has been set at 65 and it's still very mushy. It also seems to have a very fast recovery- when I do the traditional handprint, it disappears immediately. My experience, as well as the comments of an earlier reviewer, make me wonder if the density listed is accurate. That being said, it has made the bed more comfortable. My husband and I have assorted spinal & joint issues. We're comfortable, but not exactly springing out of bed feeling 10 years younger. (We have only used it a short time, though.) One thing I do have glowing comments...

Made our crappy (but not old) Serta bearable.

FABULOUS! We have a Serta (will not recommend one of those, EVER) that was sinking and 'holey' in spots. The memory foam for the most part, (as much as it feasibly could) corrected that. We are sleeping tons more comfortably. I will recommend a cover. We had our old duvet on top of it this summer (slipped around a lot), alas winter set in, we had to sleep under it. Now it just has an inexpensive mattress pad/c overturned around it. Without something between it and the sheets, it's a little hot and the sheets stick, for lack of a more succinct adjective. But regardless, I'd highly recommend it.

Wonderful product. Firm support, which I love. Stays cool even in NC summer weather.
