I have severe osteoarthritis, the spine being the worst. I could even sleep without a pillow and my neck feels better. I am to a point where I could not get comfortable and I already had a 5 star mattress and with a memory foam topper. But the topper gets lost under the mattress protector and sheets..this enables me to be surrounded like a cloud, but keeping my spine in line. Sleep is more precious than Gold! Love this topper. want to get one for everyones bed.

We asked for a memory foam mattress topper a few years ago for Christmas and my husband's mom gifted us one. We recently decided to upgrade to a King sized bed and wanted a memory foam mattress topper to go with it. We went amazon and bought a memory foam topper that we thought would work. When we received it we realized how different memory foams can be. It was just not the same and we were mourning the loss of the memory foam mattress topper that we had loved for years. My husband then had the idea to ask his mom to log into her overstock account and to check what kind of memory foam she had bought for us. It turns out she bought us this one. We ordered one right away in a King size and have been sleeping happily ever since. We like our memory foam soft. We really like this brand over others because it doesn't compact underneath you and feel hard after you've been sleeping on it for several hours. It's also firm enough that you don't feel like you're being trapped or sinking into it, but soft enough that the parts of your body that receive the most pressure from lying down (heels, elbows, hips, butts, etc) sink into the foam and the pressure on your body is even. The two weeks without our memory foam topper were miserable. We are so glad to be reunited!

I recently purchased a 1 inch combination egg crate foam and memory foam mattress topper for the sofabed. It is thin enough to roll up and store in the closet when not in use (most of the year), but it did almost nothing to pad the bumps or add comfort to the thin sofabed mattress, but I liked the way the memory foam felt. I then bought a 4 inch thick king topper for my bed, comprised of a 2 inch egg crate foam mattress attached to a 2 inch memory foam mattress. On the plus side, I found that I woke up without feeling achy in my hips and back for the first time in years. However, there were some problems with it. It came with a zip on washable cover, which I liked, because it sounded sanitary. But the cover was made of a silky cotton fabric that made the topper slide all over the bed nightly. I removed the cover and replaced it with a washable cotton mattress pad, which helped a little, but not much. I then bought a non-slip rubber product intended to keep area carpets from moving and put that between the topper and the mattress, which also helped, but the topper still moves down every couple of days and it's so heavy, it's hard to pull it back up without removing the fitted sheet, which brings me to the next thing. The 4 inch topper was so thick, I had to buy all new deep pocket fitted sheets, which are expensive and hard to put on and remove. But the most annoying problem I had was that I'm one of those people who always feels warm and I ended up kicking off and pulling on the blankets all night. So, I decided to move the 4 inch mattress topper into the king guest bedroom and go for the extra money to buy this 2 inch gel/memory foam topper, which is supposed to make you feel cooler than regular memory foam. After about a month, I'd say the difference in temperature was minimal, but my stiffness in the morning was back and I still had to drag the heavy topper up every couple of days. So, I moved the 4 inch topper back to my bed and put the 2 inch gel topper in the guest room. If you decide to buy this 2 inch gel topper, bear in mind that may not relieve any aches and pains in the morning and it might even cause some when you have to slide the topper up every day or two. It won't keep you measurably cooler than a standard memory foam mattress topper. It's more expensive than even the 4 inch topper, but you will save money because you won't have to buy new sheets, mattress cover and possibly even a non-skid pad. Also, I would recommend against buying a cover for any mattress topper unless it features a surface that will help keep the topper from slipping around on the mattress. A washable cotton mattress pad will probably cost the same amount of money and it will leave the topper in contact with the mattress, which greatly reduces slippage and movement. Finally, the odor from this gel topper is minimal to non-existent, and it expanded to full size in a matter of a couple of hours. Pleasant dreams!

I am 6'1" and weight 240 lbs. I am also a side sleeper who has had trouble for years, and tried everything. Foam/Memory Foam/Feather Tick, etc. and still had issues with my hips hurting in the morning and my arms falling asleep. After a TON of research, I finally decided I was going to try the Serta 4" memory foam topper. Received the package, let it unfold itself and WALLAH! I had no issues with smell but smells aren't something that usually bothers me much. The topper is on the firmer side but I needed that due to my size. First nite, absolutely WONDERFUL. No hip pain, no arms falling asleep.. My only complaint, the HEAT... This does hold heat. It may not bother some people but I woke up 2x during the evening sweating and I absolutely HATE that. I called Overstock and calmly explained my dilemma and Overstock gave me a great deal on the Queen Lambswool Mattress Pad. A few days later, I tried it out and it was just GREAT! Took care of 75% of my heat issue. I did some more research and finally figured out that I needed blankets that would BREATH on top as well as between me and the memory foam. Tried several blankets. Cotton works well/cotton-poly blends worked well but again, settled on wool. Keep a breathable fabric between you and the pad and make sure your covers on top of you are a breathable material and you should not have a problem! Do like I did and try several things until you find something that works for you. I did and am enjoying the best sleep I had in years! And it is obvious that the Serta product is a solid piece of foam...

The topper has fully 4 inches of memory foam, so there is enough for you to sink into as you do on a memory foam mattress. The price was great, and it makes it unnecessary to get rid of a nice Serta pillow top mattress - it's become a memory foam mattress! Therre is an odor, and since it was roasting hot summer I was unable to open the windows and let it air properly. But It's not bad and it does dissipate eventually. And the comnfort is wonderful. Would have liked a cotton cover on it, but the pillows do have a cover. They're nice too. A really great value for money.

If you are looking for a firmer memory foam this four inch is that. I bought it to add to a ten year old RV mattress. It's a little firmer then I like but I've slept all night ever since.

Our expensive pillow-top mattress was too rigid but this topper has made us sleep like babies. We also have one on the inexpensive, thin mattress in our RV camper bed and it has made it extremely comfortable. We covered both toppers with a good quality quilted cotton mattress cover.

When we moved, I had to sell my waterbed, and it was very hard for me to sleep on our firm mattress. For my birthday, we bought the 5.5 inch memory foam/mattress topper from Overstock for our queen guest bedroom, to try it out. The price was very reasonable, and It arrived sooner than we expected. We opened the packages and followed the directions for preparing our new bed. We were happy to notice there was little, if any odor, and it took very little time for the pad to be ready for use. My recently purchased soft, deep pocket Egyptian cotton sheets fit perfectly, too. I admit that It took a couple of nights to get used to sleeping on the bed, but I now sleep very comfortably and am able to change sides more easily than on the firmer mattress in our master bedroom. I even have happier dreams and wake up easily and enthusiastically. I'm hoping to convince my husband that we need the same deal for our shared big bed, too!
