Down and feather-filled products are packaged tightly during shipping. Upon receipt, remove this item from its packaging, fluff gently, and allow several hours for full loft recovery. In addition, products sealed in plastic packaging sometimes have a disagreeable scent because of concentrated natural fibers. A few hours of airing typically removes the odor.

This featherbed is perfect. I literally went to about 7 high-end stores looking for a featherbed and this one is higher quality and much better priced than anything I saw. Not to mention it's just like sleeping on air. I have never had such a good nights sleep. It just envelopes you into a heavenly soft sleep. I would absolutely reccomend this to anyone who is looking for a featherbed. The reviews I read for this product were so helpful in helping me pick it out. I was reluctant at first, but it came exactly as described by overstock.com and by all the reviews I read.Read More
I was hesitant to purchase something down without being able to feel it. Too many times I had found items in stores that were just o.k., but not what I wanted, and I didn't want to have to ship something back. I spent lots of time going over many different featherbeds and the reviews. I was still not sure if I should get the real down feathers since I purchased a cheapo at a local store and it was horrible, thin and feather ends poking all over. I was determined I was going to have my bed feel like the upscale hotel I stayed in in San Francisco, the Sofitel. The hotel had a down comforter and a down featherbed that you just sank into and it was what I really wanted to re-create. I decided this sounded and looked like what I wanted, so I would try it. Much to my surprise it surpassed my expectations! I cannot believe the price for this hotel quality featherbed! It is so thick and full you bogg up in it! I look forward to getting in bed every night now! I had purhased a new plush mattress but had sore points prior to putting this on, now I could stay in bed all day! Literally, I don'-t remember ever turning over anymore! Only wish I had purchased sooner. If you are looking for a featherbed, get this! I don'-t even see that it flattens at all after sleeping for days on it. When I pull the sheets up, I just give it a shake anyway to fluff. I didn'-t want to chance smushing it any, so I did like the hotel and just put it in a protector and laid it on top of the mattress. I guess if you wanted it to match the sheets you could put a separate fitted sheet on it. Anyway, this is the best purchase I have made in ages and am telling my family to get it, since they love the hotel bed feel too. This thing is worth way more! I would have never imagined such good quality for a fraction of what you would pay at a department store or hotel store sight. I could go on and on, because I am so in love with this featherbed. In short, do not hesitate to get this!Read More
This featherbed is sooo soft! Definitely worth the money. Have had nothing but success with all my overstock purchases.Read More
I am a huge believr in feather beds and had one for about 8 years that I loved. Although the old featherbed was still somewhat comfortable, I felt like it was time to buy a new one. I was so excited when my featherbed arrived on time. I immediately put it on my bed and the first two nights I felt like I was sleeping on air. By the third day, however, the featherbed had flattened and I couldn't even tell I had extra padding on mattress. The feathers tend to leak a bit as well. Comfort-wise, I still feel as though I am sleeping on a mattress.Read More
This feather bed has sharp quills. I'm used to one with a down pillow top and I would highly recommend you get a down pillowtop featherbed to protect you from the sharp feathers - or at least get a down cover for the featherbed. Also, this one does not sew the baffles all the way through so the feathers do not necessarily stay in the same area. Fabric quality nice. Shipping prompt and affordable. Overstock gives great service.Read More
Nice quality and very comfortable. Order came quickly and undamaged. If you like featherbed toppers, this is a great price.Read More
Excellent product for the price..on time delivery.......excellent qualityRead More
This featherbed appears to have baffle-box construction, but when you see it in person, you realize that it actually isn't separate boxes of feathers. This is the second one of these I have bought, and I wish I would have just got the same brand I got before. I wouldn't really call this a featherbed. Its more like a feather blanket. Loose feathers aren't a huge problem, and the material seems to be of decent quality. The real problem is just how flat this thing is, and no amount of "fluffing" make a difference. Save your $ and find a better one.Read More
I read the other reviews that said that the feathers poked through and I bought it anyway. The first week it was ok, felt soft and cozy no unwanted feather sticks. Then it started, it was so bad I have even been cut by a feather poking through the fabric and through our sheets. Then the featherbed started clumping and becoming uncomfortable. I finally got smart and took it off of the bed, packed it up and got a new one. I would strongly suggest looking at a different featherbed, this one was such a disappointment.Read More
I have been using this feather bed every day for three years now. It is still plumping up for a very comfy sleep.Read More

Best Fills for Down Comforters
Warm and incredibly soft, down comforters are the height of luxurious bedding. Like all other bedding, down comforters can range from inexpensive to costly. The proof is in the filling. Inexpensive down comforters are filled with a combination of down and polyester or down and feathers. The best down comforters, which are usually also the most expensive, are full of pure, thick down. Take a look below to learn the best fills for down comforters. Hungarian goose down: Hungarian goose down is considered the most luxurious type of down. These extreme cold-weather birds have very thick, almost odorless tufts of down at the base of their feathers. This heavy, long-lasting down is most often used in comforters with a fill rating of 800, which means they can keep a person warm even in cold conditions. Eiderdown: Eiderdown is harvested by hand from the abandoned nests of Eider ducks, which pluck the down from their own backs and use it to cover their eggs. Eider ducks live in cold climates, so their down is thick and heavy. It is used in high-quality comforters with a fill rating of between 700 and 800. Eider duck down is the only type of duck down used in high-quality comforters. All other duck down is usually considered too smelly (and some duck down has tiny barbs) and is used in much less expensive comforters. Grey and white goose down: Grey goose down is used in dark comforters due it its grey color, but it is the same as white goose down in all other ways. Grey and white goose down, which is usually harvested from European or Chinese geese, is the most popular type of down used in middle-price-range pure down comforters. These comforters usually have a fill rating of 600 and above. Hypodown: Hypodown is a mixture of white goose down and milkweed. This all-natural filling is hypoallergenic and much more durable than pure down comforters. While pure down is still considered to be the preferable fill for comforters by most people, hypodown is gaining popularity with consumers who want a longer lasting product without synthetic fills. Most down comforters are made with goose down, but some may include down feathers from other species of fowl. Look below to learn how to buy a down comforter.

The bedroom is one of the most personal rooms in a home, and bed linens are often your best bet for creating a space that reflects your personality. It should be a relaxing retreat with a luxurious bed as the focal point of the room. Create that restful feeling by choosing high-quality bedding. While many people splurge on a down comforter or feather pillows, they sometimes skimp on bed linens. Don't make the mistake of settling for low-quality bedding. After all, bed linens are the part of the bed that touches your skin. Look below to learn how to choose quality bed linens.
Popular Types of Quilts
Out of all the bedding made, quilts may be the most diverse. Quilts are produced in all kinds of colors, patterns, sizes, styles and types. If you're looking for a quilt but don't know where to start, take a look at the popular types of quilts below to learn more about this beautiful kind of bedding. Amish quilts: These beautiful quilts reflect the Amish way of living and feature solid colors, deep hues, geometric patterns and very little embellishment. Amish quilts contain the highest quality of construction and stitching, and, sometimes, the wonderful stitch patterns (scrolls, feathers) contrast with the simple backgrounds of their quilts. Applique quilts: These quilts use a French needlework technique where fabric pieces are sewn onto another piece of material to create a design. Applique is used extensively in the quilting process and is not to be confused with patchwork. Patchwork pieces are joined together; applique is sewn on top of the whole piece. Baltimore album quilts: Baltimore album quilts came from Maryland in the early 1800s. Each block in the design of these quilts is appliqued differently, often in ornate floral patterns. Bangladeshi quilts: These quilts are made with layers of Saree cloth. Saree cloth is silk cloth used by women of India to wrap and fold around the body as a garment. The cloth is usually 40 to 60 inches wide by 6 yards long. These quilts are used as bedding or as decorative pieces. Bargello quilts: Bargello quilts are created with offset squares in an up-and-down geometric "V" pattern. The small squares of different fabrics and the colorful designs make these quilts true works of art. Hawaiian quilts: Hawaiian quilts are not pieced, and they usually showcase a large, symmetrical applique in the center of the quilt. Most often the background is white or another solid color. Patchwork quilts: Patchwork quilts are constructed of many small pieces of fabric which are put together in an improvised or irregular pattern. This is a well-known quilt style, and examples of historical patchwork quilts are found in many museums. Ralli quilts: Ralli quilts, sometimes known as rilli quilts, are traditional quilts made in India or Pakistan. There is an abundance of embroidery as well as applique on the patchwork patterns. Star quilts: Star quilts are created with a large star shape, or several star shapes, dominating the pattern. Wedding ring quilts: Wedding ring quilts are crafted in a design of interlocking rings. This pattern goes far back in history: in the fourth century it was used to decorate drinking cups in Rome. Wedding ring quilts are highly popular and make wonderful wedding gifts. If you're looking for a gift to please an engaged couple, you can't go wrong with a wedding quilt. Bedding always makes a significant gift for the bride and groom, and a quilt with coordinating Egyptian cotton sheets can be even better. View All Quilts Back to Guides Directory View All Quilts

How to Accessorize a White Dress
The white dress is the spring equivalent of the classic little black dress, a modern staple just waiting to be taken to the next level with the right accessories. Today's white dresses are fashioned in flowing, ultra-feminine styles and simple, straight cuts. Whether it is a formal dress, cocktail dress or a light summer dress, your white dress can be dressed up or down with the right accessories.
Best Jewelry for White Outfits
When summer rolls around, you will see all-white outfits on every runway. The look is fresh and fabulous, but it leaves many people wondering how to accessorize such a statement. If left unadorned, a white outfit can seem unpunctuated and airy, so it's important to ground the ensemble with a few select accessories. Rather than weighing a white outfit down with mismatched necklaces, bright bracelets and chunky rings, choose a few pieces of jewelry for a cool summer outfit.
Best Duvet Covers for Each Season
For those who use duvet blankets year-round, duvet covers allow you to change patterns and color to match every season. Along with the decor of the bedroom, a duvet cover may enhance the ambiance of the entire room or supply it with rich colors and textures for the ultimate comfort factor. If you purchased an expensive duvet, covering it throughout the year will keep it in good shape and allow you to wash it without compromising the batting. Look below to learn the best duvet covers for each season. Spring: Once the evenings start warming up, lighter fabrics like satin provide sheen and style to any bedroom. Satin duvet covers are most often comprised of fabrics like nylon, rayon or silk to provide durability as well as comfort. For spring, lighter colors, including pastels or variations of cream and beige, brighten the room. Summer: During warm summer nights, cotton duvets are one of the most common fabric choices. Light and airy, cotton is also easy to clean and comes in virtually every color and pattern. For the summer season, try a white duvet cover, which will make the room appear more open and spacious. A cotton blend that contains polyester is also an ideal choice for summer, because it is soft, requires simple washing and does not wrinkle. Fall: For the fall season, a duvet cover that is warm enough for intermittent chilly nights is an ideal choice. Microsuede duvet covers offer a soft feel to bedding and come in a variety of colors. This material is easy to care for and machine washable. For fall, choose earthy colors like beige, brown, dark green or burgundy for a seasonal look. Winter: A luxurious duvet cover is a favorite option for warmth during the winter months. Velvet is a soft fabric that comes in a variety of rich colors and provides plenty of insulation for cold nights. The luxurious texture looks good in any style of room decor. For winter months, choose deep, rich colors like burgundy, plum, forest green or chocolate to enhance the room. View All Duvet Covers Back to Guides Directory View All Duvet Covers
