I bought this burgundy duvet cover, a 630 thread count Egyptian cotton sheet, and another 600 thread count Egyptian cotton sheet from overstock. Of the three, this one feels like its in a whole new class of smoothness. This duvet cover is smoother than any sheet/duvet cover I have ever felt, there are no stripes on it, the brand is Luxor, the color looks like the burgundy in the pic, and the shams have a crease where the pillow inserts in middle of the sheet on one side. Alot of people here are complaining of the shams, I don't see anything wrong with them. As for the actual duvet cover... Wow!!! It feels like a luxurious satin sheet, but has the crispness and coolness of a high quality cotton. So good infact I went to a department store to feel other 600 count sheets to confirm the legitmacy of my other purchases. Nothing in the store, except the the fancy 200 dollar 1000 thread counts felt quite as nice as these. This is a must buy, I have no idea where these other reviewers are getting their information or what sheet they received. All I know is I purchased 3 sheets/duvet covers at one time from overstock and this one could run smoothness circles around the other two.
I read the reviews before deciding the purchase this duvet. People were going on and on about how soft it was and what a good buy it was considering what it is and the price for it. So when I first touched the duvet, I was surprised by how NOT soft it was. HOWEVER, just a little google research about Egyptian cotton put all my worries to rest. I follow instructions I found on several sights online and washed the duvet, making sure that the water was cold, that I used only half the amount of detergent I normally would use for the load size, setting the machine to do an extra rinse cycle to make sure all the chemicals and detergent are washed out, and tumble-drying the duvet on low (since I have nowhere to hang-dry an item of that size). It made a world of difference. Already after one wash, the duvet is softer, which is exactly what is supposed to happen to Egyptian cotton. It's meant to be a durable material and that gets softer with more washings. I can't speak for the durability of the duvet yet, but I'm very pleased with the softness.
I ordered this Duvet cover for my king size bed. The color is good and I like the soft but heavy feel of the fabric. I was disappointed when I went to place my down comforter into the duvet and there weren't any ties in the corners to keep the duvet in place. I don't like to use safety pins because they might come open and poke someone. The Egyptain Cotton does have wrinkle problems but most cotton does. Overall I like the product but will have to sew in the ties- It would have been nice to know that it didn't have ties when I ordered it.
I dont understand why some experienced such wrinkling with this duvet as I certainly did not. Before using I washed it in cold water with just a little detergent, rinsed it very well, added a lot of fabric softener to try to combat excess wrinkles and then dried it. I took it out of the dryer and with help, got it on the duvet immediately. It wrinkled no more than sheets wrinkle, which is to say that I wouldnt wear a 100% cotton product straight out of the dryer before ironing or I would have a slightly rumpled appearance, so this was just fine. If people are disappointed that the fabric doesnt have the sheen and perfection it had straight out of the package, what set of 100% cotton sheets with the sateen finish ever does after being washed and dried? This is not a cotton blend. If those who love 100% cotton sheets at a medium thread count are careful to yank them out of the dryer and get them right on the bed and are content with what slight rumpling the cotton fabric will retain, then they will know exactly what to expect with this duvet cover. Mine was well made, it takes a little effort to get the buttons through the holes but that is a good thing: my last cover would not remain buttoned because the holes were too roomy. I recommend this product - not as an actual bedspread intended to provide a beautifully finished look to your bedding decor - this is a functional piece, to go under the finishing bedspread, and it does its intended job to do very well at a good price.
Following the instructions on the package, I washed the washable duvet covet in order to remove the creases before it is even used; however, to my disappointment, when I spread out the washed duvet on the bed, I noticed there were subtle blotches of discoloration on the duvet. Because it is a solid grey color, these discolorations are easily discerned. I am concerned that further discoloration may occur with subsequent washes. Needless to say, I am returning this product.
This duvet set is a nice quality cotton and has a light sateen finish (not super shiny, but a bit so). I got the taupe color and really like it. It's not what I would consider to be "taupe." It's got more brown in it than a traditional taupe has. I would say it's pretty true to color to what you see in the image on the site.
I bought gold, and it has a lovely sheen that suits my room. The fabric is heavy (to be expected with 650TC), so it weighs down my comforter more than I expected, but it looks lavish. It is cotton, so it was very wrinkled when I first put it on the bed, but after a few days it's not terribly wrinkled. If I had ironed it, I suspect it would still be this wrinkled after several days of folding it back and moving it around on a king sized bed. If you want pristine wrinkle free, I think you need to go with polyester, which in my opinion doesn't feel as nice.
I love this duvet! It is heavy enough that it doesn't shift in the night, but not too heavy that I feel suffocated. It looks beautiful- the stark, bright white makes for an extremely crisp looking bed. I am very satisfied and would absolutely recommend it. In full disclosure: I'm pretty sure I've slept through my alarm every morning since using these sheets- be advised ;)

As the other reviewers have said, it gets wrinkly. After one night it looks pretty sloppy... but maybe after a few washes it'll get better? It also snags pretty easily. Another reviewer mentioned this, but I thought it would be fine since I only have one cat (who's declawed in the front). It's not snagging terribly, but I definitely noticed after the first week. Bad reviews aside, I'm actually quite happy with it. I've gone through so many duvet covers that I've hated. This one is super soft, and it doesn't create unwanted heat/stuffiness. We love snuggling up with it!
I love this duvet, the cover was spot on (ivory), and it looks great in the room. It is a bit of a pain when you wash but if you take it out of the dryer right away and spread it out, the wrinkles aren't so bad. Its super soft and fits our cal king bed perfectly!

I bought the full/queen for my full-sized bed and it is quite large and hangs quite a bit over the sides. It is a lovely set, but it seems kind of thin. It seems more like a summer set. I put two down comforters in it because one was not enough.
I bought this set in 2 colors (Light Blue and Blue) and am returning one in LT Blue as it is of inferior quality compare to the other one: made from a different material and not so think as the Blue one. To prove the case, it also came in different packages, probably produced by different producers. The Blue version is great, though.
The duvet cover is super soft and looks good. It is a little shinier than I had anticipated but I'm still really happy with them. I guess that's what sateen finish means. I'm not too up to speed on that kind of stuff. I've already had a few compliments and no complaints. Giggity.
Excellent! Very soft and comfortable. I love it, wrinkles a little but is exactly what you would expect of 100 percent Egyptian cotton. Percale or anything with poly is never an option for me. I strongly recommend them. The only thing with ordering bedding from Overstock is that sometimes you can order the same product but what actually arrives is different from the original product.
