I purchased these sheets to fit a special made California King bed with temperpedic mattress topper. Before laundering, the sheets were loose fitting, but after being washed, the fit was one of the best ever. The fabric is very thick and appears to be quite durable. With every laundering, these sheets feel softer and softer, and this is a comfortable, cotton feel not the slick satteen feel of many sheets sold today. Although the price of these sheets was a tad bit more than I generally like to pay, I ordered another set because of the durability and softness factor. These are probably the best sheets I've purchased in many, many years.
If you live in an area that has very cool to cold evenings, then these are for you! They are thick and soft and keep us warm high in the Rockies. However, if you live in a very humid area, these would be way too heavy for summer or warm weather usage. I am using these to replace all the flannel sheets we have acquired before. That is the perfect use, but don't plan on these to replace regular sheets except in cooler areas. They do wrinkle a bit, but not bad. They are well worth the effort if you want great sheets for cool nights!
I was taught that a higher thread count created a more luxurious texture to bedding. WRONG. I've purchased 800 thread count here in the states and loved the sateen type finish of our sheets. So when I saw 1000 thread count I purchased them - noting that the price was in keeping with what I'd seen here for "quality luxury" bedding. While the sheets I received are of good construction, the texture is more like canvas! I went on line to learn more only to discover that thread count is mostly a marketing ploy and it's impossible to get 1000 threads per square inch. http://tlc.howstuffworks.com/home/thread-count.htm These sheets are made in China, which was not evident when I purchased. The label says if desired to wash first, so I did hoping the dryer sheets would help. No! I am very disappointed and do not recommend this vendor or these sheets. Over $$$ is a major rip off.
5 years ago I purchased 1000 count sheets from Overtsock.com and was very pleased with the product. I washed them many times over the years with only good results. Recently I purchased these new Egyptian Cotton sheets, washed them once in cold water and dried them on low and the seam split open along the top. I don't know if this is a bad batch or not such a good manufacturer ("Luxor Treasures"). Anyway, my money was promptly refunded and I will continue to look for sheets on Overstock.com.
I rarely write reviews, but these sheets are such a great value I couldn't resists. I'm ordering a second set now. These sheets are thick and the Burgandy color is very rich. I can't believe how crappy my old set (600 TC) was compared to this. It's like night and day.
At the risk of being redundant, 1000 count sheets are an investment and a project. I washed this set two times and I know I will be happy with them on my bed tonight. However, I will be really happy with them in a year and thrilled in 3 years. That is just how it goes with sheets at this thread count. I can tell that these will have a nice smooth silky finish and will be luxurious once they mature. If you want immediate gratification, get a lower count sheet, there is nothing wrong with that. But if you enjoy true comfort and indulgence and are willing to wait and experience the joy of watching a great sheet mature, these are for you.
These are not as smooth as I would like. They are, however, acceptable. After a couple of washes they are a bit softer. I have a Cal King mattress. The fitted sheet has plenty of depth, and I do not have my typical struggle to pull it on over the corners. The flat sheet has way plenty on the sides, but just enough for the length. I wish sheet manufacturers would give in and acknowledge that Cal King is narrower and longer than regular King. I wouldn't buy them again because I've had better for the price.
I ordered the Egyptian Cotton 1000 Thread Count Cal King Sheet Set in burgandy. These sheets are oversized and fit my new premium mattress perfectly! No tugging & pulling to get them onto the mattress. There's room to spare with the extra deep pockets. The fabric is unbelievably luxurious and better than I've experienced even in the top 5 Star Hotels! The burgundy color is delightfully regal...I feel like royalty! The sheets just get better wash after wash and look like new after multiple washes. I think these sheets will last a lifetime without any signs of wear. I heartily and without reservation recommend these sheets. I've ordered more and plan to be exclusive to this product. No need to buy sheets anywhere else!!!
I purchased these sheets because of the "luxury" description and oversized top sheet. Egyptian Cotton 1000 thread count sateen should be soft and smooth. These are NOT. It is like sleeping on burlap they are so coarse. Top sheet is oversized in the width, but the length is not and you can't tuck in at bottom of bed and be able to fold the top over your covers. Waste of money
I bought these in gold, Caifornia King. I am very happy with these and will be ordering a second set once I finish this review. The sheets are a nice heavy weight while still being soft. I have tried bamboo sheets and as much as I liked them, they are too sheer and ended up tearing within a month. I have to admit, we do have a weimaraner who feels it is her duty to jump on the bed each morning when the alarm sounds! I have washed these three times and they did not leave a large amount of lint in the dryer trap, they have not pilled. I think they are an excellent buy.
I have had these sheets on our bed now for a month. I wash sheets weekly, & these get nicer, softer, and better every week. My husband (who cursed our last set of 500-Thread Egyptian Cotton sheets) really is happy with these. The only thing I didn't like is that although they are Egyptian cotton, they are made in China. I would prefer to buy American made.
I waited several months to write this review as I wanted to see how the sheets held up after multiple washings. These sheets are amazing. They are super thick and incredibly comfortable. Since purchasing, we no longer use any of our other sheets as they feel so uncomfortable compared to these ones. We use our new ones, wash them and put them right back on the bed. Highly recommended.
I have a king size bed with pillow topper and can never get sheets large enough, they always pull off the mattress! Not this set! They fit perfectly! The thread count makes them so soft and they wash up wonderfully! Excellent product and what a great price too!
good quality cotton sheets that will need a couple of washes to be a little softer, but would recommend them to any prospective purchasers

For a number of years, I have purchased sheets in the 500-700 thread count range. Needing to replace a king set that didn't hold up well, I read many reviews on high tc sheets. Before finding these on Overstock, I had contemplated paying twice as much elsewhere, but the mixed reviews always gave me pause. The price and reviews on these 1,000 tc Egyptian cotton sheets, made by Luxor Treasures, were much more reassuring, so I took the plunge. They are simply amazing--substantial, luxurious, well made, generously sized, and delightful to feel against the skin. I washed them before first use, and they were wonderful. Although they will likely soften more over time, I was completely satisfied with their texture the first time they went on the bed. I'm puzzled by the reports of scratchiness or feeling like canvas. Maybe those reviewers were making the same mistake I made for many years: washing sheets together with towels (which are very abrasive). The package for these sheets makes another important point about care of cotton sheets: wash in cold water and dry on low, to avoid shrinkage. We're soooo happy with our new sheets!
Love these sheets! Several years ago, i had ordered a similar set that was 800 thread count and they were excellent. This set arrived and I was surprised at how heavy the package felt. After opening I inspected the set and found quality everywhere i looked. They fit nicely and felt wonderful. I feel more satisfied with this set than with my old set.
I can't get over how nice these feel against your skin. They are heavy but not too heavy. Great alone even on a cold night. The only thing I am a bit disappointed in is the color. I ordered taupe and when delivered it's almost too much of a gold to deep brown. I was hoping for the color shown as a grey/taupe. Oh well, I do love them.
On first inspection these sheets appeared to be of great quality. As with my other high-count sheet sets, I expected them to get better and better with each wash over the years. However, much to my dismay the sheets started coming out of the wash with snags and tears after about six months, even though they were washed by themselves. This doesn't happen with any of my other clothes or sheets (brand new washer and dryer), and with each washing new frayed areas would appear. It appears that there are irregularities in the construction of the fabric resulting in weak spots in the sheets where the sheets fray. I had one pillowcase literally fall to pieces, which I threw away. This set is worthless.
